Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

Namine walked down one of the halls alone, her eyes darting to a room when all she heard was loud music. It practically shook the floor underneath her feet. Regardless, she merely glanced at the room before continuing. All of those people were too drunk and busy partying to realize their predicament, and the cold air. Was the heater even on in the school?
Roxas made his way back to the meeting spot ten minutes later. His face was a little paler than before, and not because of the cold. Every single door and window that he checked was blocked by snow. He didn't find a single way out of the building. Hopefully Namine had better luck than he did, but he was beginning to doubt it. The wind couldn't have blown snow against all the parts of the building he checked; the snow must have actually been that high all around. This could be trouble.

Namine had her arms crossed over her chest, cold even with her coat on. She walked down the hall and stared at the floor, disappointed in her findings...or lack thereof. She couldn't find any door that wasn't blocked by snow. It seemed that the entire school was snowed in, which meant she and Roxas were stuck here for the night, as well as the rest of the students.
Roxas glanced down the hall, seeing a familiar blonde coming his direction. "Namine?" he called to get her attention. Did she find anything? He really hoped she did, but judging by her posture, she didn't. What were they supposed to do? The building was only continuing to get colder now. If they had a heater on, he'd be less worried, but it seemed like the storm blew out the heater.

Namine looked up at the call, her eyes finding Roxas not too far down the corridor. "Find anything?" she called softly. She certainly didn't, which was disappointing. But there was nothing they could do, unless Roxas found a way out.
Roxas shook his head solemnly. No, he hadn't found anything at all. "You?" If she hadn't, then they'd have to brace themselves for a very cold night. All of them would. Did the kids partying even know that they were snowed in? Would they even care?

Namine shook her head as she slowed her steps, meeting Roxas a few seconds later. She didn't have any luck, and since he didn't either, she knew that they were thinking the same thing. We're locked in for the night. And it was going to be a cold one.
Roxas glanced at the hallway behind him when he heard footsteps as opposed to blaring music. It appeared somebody understood the situation as well: another boy who was in the music program. He was built like a football player, so he could be intimidating. But he was especially intimidating towards innocent girls. He furrowed his eyebrows, seeing the kid walking towards him with a displeased expression. His footsteps betrayed his drunkenness as well. What was going to happen was anybody's guess.

Namine stood next to Roxas, though she didn't have to turn like he did to see the boy. Her arms remained crossed as she gazed at him, confused at his expression. He seemed...angry, or at least upset. What was wrong? Maybe he had been drinking, and that was affecting his behavior...

"Hey, Keyblader," the drunken Mitchel said as he approached the two blonds. He eyed Namine, but his eyes main remained on the Keyblade wielder. "We're snowed in. Do something, would you?" He had to be able to do something, or so he thought in his drunkenness.

Roxas arched an eyebrow, staring at the guy. He was definitely drunk. And since when was Roxas referred to as a Keyblader? Not many people seemed to recognize him in the same way as they recognized Sora and Riku. "What do you expect me to do?" he asked. He was trapped right along with everyone else.

Mitchel's eyes narrowed. "You should know what to do," he said. "You're the Keyblader. Figure out a way!" He raised his voice with the last note, fighting back a hiccup. The only good thing about the alcohol in his system was that it was keeping him warm.

Namine blinked at the shout, her eyes widening as she stiffened beside Roxas. Yes, this guy was definitely drunk. She gazed at him, suddenly....intimidated. He was larger than Riku, who was pretty well built. But their hearts weren't the same; she could sense that this guy was not going to be pleasant.

"My girlfriend's cold," Mitchel was saying, glancing at one of the girls who was standing at the doorway further down the hall along with a few others. He was comfortable though, with his coat on and all the alcohol running through his system.

"Then give her your coat," Roxas said coolly, staring at the guy instead of glancing back at the group of girls. He felt bad for the girl who was dating this jerk, but he wasn't going to scold her for it. "You should be plenty warm without your coat because of all your drinks tonight."

Mitchel reached forward and grabbed Roxas's coat, curling a tight fist around the material. "Watch it," he hissed, hearing the girls gasp down the hall. Like he cared about their fear.

A soft gasp left Namine at the sudden movement, and she took a small step back when Mitchel was so close. What was he doing? He's too drunk... He doesn't realize how hostile he's being, she thought. He had to stop. Namine looked from Mitchel to Roxas, wondering what he was going to do. Don't do anything rash, Roxas. She knew he had a short temper.

Roxas's eyebrows remained furrowed, but he remained silent. The fact that he didn't antagonize Mitchel any further seemed to calm the kid down. "Do something, Keyblader," he said lowly, releasing Roxas's coat and starting back down the hall towards the girls."Before I do something to your face."

Roxas rolled his eyes at the comment. That was the greatest threat he could give? But Roxas's eyes quickly narrowed when he saw Mitchel kiss his girlfriend on the lips roughly. She clearly wasn't into it with his drunkenness. If Mitchel hadn't moved back into the party room, Roxas would have yelled at him to let the girl go. No girl deserved to be treated that way, whether they were dumb enough to get into a relationship like that or not.

Namine looked after the boy in shock...and disgust. He was gross, and apparently his girlfriend didn't approve either. The group of girls glanced at her and Roxas as they stood in front of the party room, music echoing through the hall. Namine exhaled a soft breath, wondering if anything like that was going to happen again. She certainly hoped not; they didn't need anything to make this situation worse.

Apparently the girls were no longer interested in partying; they understood that it was getting colder and they were trapped in here. A few guys came along as well who were not drunk, standing by Roxas and Namine in their group. All of them were staring at Roxas with scared eyes (well, the girls anyway). One asked what they should do. Roxas blinked in surprise at the question and the gazes, realizing that he was thrust into the leadership position. Did it have to do with him being a Keyblade wielder? He glanced to the side, trying to think about it. Then he came up with an idea. "Everyone go find things that you can put along the cracks of the doors and windows," he said. "It'll keep some of the cold air out." What else can we do?

Namine nodded slightly, looking from Roxas to the others before she turned and departed. One of the girls walked with her as they went to find a storage closet, which should have had what they needed. Hopefully a few towels to cover the cracks.
When one of the girls asked if he could light a fire, Roxas shook his head. First off, there was nothing to burn. And secondly... "A fire would set off the sprinkler system," he stated. Being wet and cold would be even worse than what they already were. "Just focus on blocking up any cracks you can. I'm going to make a phone call." His cell phone still had service, so he could call 911 or maybe Sora to let them know they were snowed into a building without heat. But if the whole island was like this, nobody would really be able to help. They'd be stuck here a while.

Namine and the girl with her managed to find a few towels, which they put underneath a door and near a few of the larger windows. It was still too chilly for comfort, though, and she had a feeling it wouldn't get any better. She carried a few more towels in her arms, starting toward another area to block the cracks. She could only do what she could.
After Roxas called 911, he called and woke up a very groggy Sora. His friend wasn't happy about being woken up, but he wasn't happy about the situation either. Apparently he was snowed in as well. So whoever got out first would have to help the other out. Once Roxas hung up the phone, he found a room without windows for the girls to stay in for the night. And he was going to make sure none of the guys were going in there. He didn't trust drunk guys with scared girls. He stood outside the room, staring at the ground. What else could even be done?
  • Author
Namine left the room the girls were allowed to stay in, shutting the door behind her and approaching her friend. She stopped next to him, smiling slightly despite the situation. "You're doing well, Roxas," she said softly, speaking of his decisions. He was handling the pressure well, and she was impressed. The girls were sure to be smitten after tonight...and that actually bothered her a bit.

Roxas looked over at Namine and smiled weakly at her, nodding as well. He appreciated her compliment; he just wished there was more he could do. The girls were still in for a rough night, even if he moved all the desks in that room so that they could huddle closer together. Hopefully the body heat would help them out.

"Roxas," Mitchel called, approaching the kid from the party room. He was still staggering, and still wearing his coat. This time though, a bunch of other guys were gathered with him. "Let us in. We wanna see our girls."

Roxas furrowed his eyebrows immediately, taking a few steps forward as he stood between the guys and the door. And between Namine and the guys. "You guys aren't going anywhere near them while you're drunk," he declared. Drunken guys only ever wanted one thing, and they weren't getting that while he was guarding the door.

  • Author
Namine stared at the guys, already aware that the tension was high...which meant bad things were going to happen. She stood in front of the door, peering around Roxas to look at Mitchel and his friends. What were they going to do? Barge in?

"We just wanna keep our girls warmer, Keyblader," Mitchel said, taking a small step closer to Roxas. What he got as a response was a surprise.

Roxas extended his right arm and summoned Oathkeeper to his hand, keeping it pointed at Mitchel. There was a foot between him and the tip of the blade. "The girls are plenty warm," he said. "And I know that's not the reason you want to go in there." The real reason was disgusting. How could these guys be thinking about that when the situation was so severe? Roxas understood the seriousness of it, and that came through with the presence of his blade. He hoped he didn't have to use it, but he was prepared to if he had to.

Namine took a step forward slightly, eyes wide at the presence of the Keyblade. "Roxas, no," she said in fright. He couldn't threaten them with the Keyblade, even if the boys' threat alone was clear. If things got physical, then Namine would understand. But...she didn't think this was the right circumstance.
