Rude Awakening (1x1 with Peanut)

Posted

As some of you may know, Peanut and I are crazy about Roleplaying, and it's clear, since this is the second one on this site that belongs to us. And we aren't even done with the first one! Regardless, that won't stop us from starting this new roleplay, Rude Awakening!

Kinda dark and mysterious title, eh?

As stated in the title, this RP is one on one, no exceptions. Please refrain from posting in the RP. Instead, follow us on this new journey!

Peanut, my amazing friend, let's begin!

How...did this happen? Riku couldn't help but wonder. He gazed at Lightning, believing she was asleep. He wasn't necessarily upset with this position, but...he was surprised by it. Did he do this? After all, Lightning was on top of him, and his arms were locked around her. It was me... But why did I do this? Was his heart speaking something he hadn't yet acknowledged?
Lightning exhaled a soft breath as a sigh. She was thinking too deeply. For once, she was happy, and she was going to accept that the happiness came from Riku. She lightly grasped Riku's shirt with one of her hands, not knowing that he was awake now and gazing at her. If she had, well, she wasn't sure what she would have done.

Riku moved his hand up Lightning's back again, though his hand rested on the back of her head this time. He lightly ran his fingers through her hair, silently gazing at what he could see of her, which wasn't much. But...he was okay with it. She was comfortable. After what happened a few days ago, it was hard to comprehend, but it was true. Lightning was comfortable with him again.
Lightning's breath caught in her throat. Nobody treated her like this before, with such care. She was always so tough that nobody dared to. But here was Riku, another tough person, weaving his fingers into her hair. And he did this while he thought she was asleep and unaware. If he was really a terrible flirt, he would have been treating her as an object, not a human being. But that wasn't what she was to him. She was Lightning.

You're something else... Riku couldn't believe Lightning was actually relaxing in this position. Just a few days ago, she hated him. She called him a coward and announced that she really didn't want anything to do with him. But after last night, after he confided in her and released his darkest secrets, she accepted him. It was the strangest thing.
...And Lightning was still sick. She began to cough, thankful that she was facing the rest of the room so that she wasn't coughing in Riku's face. Though he did deserve it after what he did. She found that she couldn't stop coughing, and she felt bad that she was going to wake Riku up with this fit. Unfortunately, it wasn't something she could really help.

Riku's hand stopped moving through Lightning's hair, instead cupping the back of her head. "Easy," he said softly, speaking over her coughing fit. He really needed to give her some medicine... It was his fault she was sick in the first place. He shouldn't have drug her out to the Island so late last night.
Lightning settled after a few moments, her body sagging into Riku's because of the tension from coughing being gone. So...he was awake. Was it better for her not to acknowledge the position they were in? That was what she did when Snow and Serah found them together a long time ago, and it saved Riku some embarrassment. Perhaps it was best for her to act that way again.

Riku tilted his head a little, trying to see Lightning's face. What did she think? Was she okay with this, or did she want him to leave her alone? Last night may have mended some things, but not everything. Lightning was still mad at him, and rightfully so. Riku was an idiot...
It was best to act like she was going right back to sleep. That was what Light decided and began to act like with her body relaxing and her eyes shut. Maybe this was a bit of a test for Riku, to see how he acted. Would he keep her on top of him, or would he lay her in a bed and try to get her medicine? In other words, was he just full of lust because she was a girl in his life, or did he care enough to put his own desires to the side?

Riku sighed softly, lost as he looked over at the television. What did he do? He...liked this, being close to Lightning. It made him feel good. But he knew that this wasn't right, not for her. She may have been comfortable, but who was he to determine whether this was what she wanted? Besides, she was burning up; her hair was a little damp near her scalp and if he could see her face, he would notice her cheeks were flushed. How did he move her without disturbing her, though?
It was hard, but Sora managed to make his way to Riku's apartment complex through the snow. He was the only one there, since Kairi was melting snow in another area of the city so that people could travel. And Sora was cold and tired, so he thought he'd stop in to see an old friend. It probably wouldn't be too fun a visit, considering that Riku cheated on Lightning and kissed Ashe. Even in a fake relationship, that wasn't cool. Nobody answered (or heard) his knocking, so he let himself in and immediately saw the two people on the couch, where one was awake and the other wasn't.

Riku grunted in shock, eyes widening as he looked to the door. "Sora!" he hissed quietly, his arms tightening around Lightning almost defensively. "What are you doing?!" Why was Sora even here? He and Riku hadn't talked in days. What made him want to stop by?
Sora blinked in surprise. "What am I doing?" he repeated, stepping in and shutting the door behind him so that nobody else came and saw this. "What are you doing?" Riku betrayed Lightning and now he was holding her while she slept. She probably didn't even know that he was doing it. Was Riku taking advantage of her?!

Riku grunted again, this time looking to Lightning before looking back to Sora. "I...I don't know!" he hissed. He just woke up and he was like this! It was an accident! And honestly, he wasn't sure how to get out of it without disturbing Lightning. That was the last thing he wanted to do.
Sora lifted a hand to his face. "Man, you're lucky Kairi isn't here. She wants to kill you for this whole thing." All of them realized that Lightning was a nice girl beneath her hard exterior and began to view her as a friend when Riku did. So the fact that he was holding her like this, and without her permission...It was even making Sora angry, and that wasn't easy to do.

"I know, alright?" Riku said tensely, looking from Sora to Lightning. He gently moved one of his hands, pushing on her hip so he could turn her. He grabbed one of her legs and started to sit up, shifting her gently so her head rested against his shoulder and she was on her side. Please don't wake up, he begged her. This would be really bad.
"And Serah!" Sora continued, scolding Riku as he took a few steps closer. Lightning continued to pretend to be asleep, not that he saw through the charade. "If she saw you like this with her sister after what you did..." He gritted his teeth, looking at his friend in anger. "How could you betray her like that and take advantage of her now?" It was stupid.

Riku rose to his feet, cradling Lightning in his arms. "Sora," he hissed tensely, glaring at his friend. "Shut up!" He was going to wake Lightning up. Riku walked past Sora in order to reach the hallway, taking the girl in his arms toward the guest bedroom. Clearly she needed to be in a bed, both for her own health and so Sora wouldn't wake her. Idiot.
"Why?" Sora scoffed as he followed Riku. "So that she won't catch you holding her when she probably doesn't want to be held? She deserves to know!" Here Sora thought that Lightning was different from the other girls in Riku's past. He thought he actually cared about Lightning and didn't just view her as an accessory. Apparently he was wrong and Riku didn't change much, except that he chose a girl who was genuine this time.

"Sora, if you don't stop talking, I swear I'm going to pummel you," Riku growled, nudging the guest bedroom door open with his knee. He stepped in, making sure not have Lightning hit her feet or head on the doorframe. Riku wasn't taking advantage of her! The position just...happened! It was completely accidental!
"And Kairi will have two reasons to kill you," Sora pointed out without stopping to talk. He never was good at keeping his mouth shut, but this time, he had a real reason to keep talking. He was tempted to wake Lightning up, but then he noticed that she looked pretty red and warm. He softened at that sight. "...She okay?"

Riku stopped by the bed, leaning down and slowly setting Lightning down. He put her head gently on the pillow, and even through that small touch he could feel her hot skin. "She's sick," he revealed softly...and a little guiltily. He didn't mean for this to happen, but it did. He should have taken her on a warmer day...

Sora lifted a hand to his face. "Even worse," he muttered. Riku was taking advantage of her because she was sick? Riku was all over some girls in the past, and apparently Lightning was his new girl. But she was different from the rest of them. She wasn't looking for pleasure; she was looking for honesty and companionship. It looked like Riku had something else in mind.

Riku ground his teeth together and turned, shoving Sora roughly. "I'm not taking advantage of her, you idiot!" he growled. His friend should have had more faith in him than that, and trusted his judgment. Riku would never do such a thing, especially to Lightning.
