Persona 4 The Animation True Ending - How to ruin a game in an adaptation

Posted

So, the episode is out. Like the rest of the animated version of Persona 4, it just destroyed the game.

I recommend interested people to play the game until the end and leave the anime for something to watch and mourn later.

Why you should play the game before or instead of watching the anime:

1)Downgraded design (characters look weird on their clothes) + bad animation (the studio was having some issues with employees and animators)

2)65~80 hours game rushed in 26 episodes (and they are yet hoping to make a P3 movie, the game is 80 hours)

3)Action scenes are really bad.

4)NO WEAPONS to the protagonists, they just removed that and only the summons (Personas) fight.

5)Overused bromance: seeing Yousuke pull Yu's out of dark hole-things three diferent times in the series is a little not creative.

6)Turned the investigative and quite tense and dark atmosphere for a happy-go design into a comedy anime, you can understand that thinking how genious was from putting someone who almost only directed comedy animes to direct P4The Animation.

7)Heaven only played for 8 seconds.

8)No final boss ost.

I'm sure there is more to say, I really recomend playing the game before watching the anime. The plot is the same but the way it's presented really makes the diference. And it won't be fun if you play a 60+ hours game knowing the spoilers from the low quality anime.

What are you talking about? The animation was pretty good. It didn't really destroy it.

So, what, the anime isn't good? I'm not able to play the games so I figured I'd watch the series. But if it's no good then please tell me, I don't want to waste time on something horrible xD

I'll edit my post up there to express how bad The Animation is compared to the game.

Persona 3 - http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png A god has made this game

Persona 4- ;) A god has made a decent sequel

The animation- What? Have entered a midnight channel where everyting sucks?

Persona the arena- http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png Really? How did we go from godly game to complete dissapointment.

omg...........Of course it's not going to be as good as the game. they had a 25(6) episode limit. Geez. Persona 4 arena was not a disappointment's. Maybe since you might not be good at fighting games, does not make the game a disappointing

Nah, it's just wrong to turn my favorite socialsim/Rpg into a fighting game. How do you think people would feel if out of nowhere kingdom hearts became turn-based? For now reason. ;)

They did turn a part kh re:coded into a turn based game. It wasn't wrong at all. P4 was perfect for a fighting game

Look, but P4A isn't that bad, it's some sort of The Answer with fighting instead of auto-hard mode turn based RPG. The Story Mode is huge and full of text and voice acting, at least it wasn't badly made.

Well I was stating my opinions on it. Do some ppl like P4A? the answer is yes. Am I denying that? No. Do I like it? No. And I realize part of coded used turn-based but coded uses gimmicks throughout the worlds so yeah. I see many many fighting games but few sim/rpg mixes.

So I guess opinions should just be ignored if you don't like them. ;)

Persona 4 The Animation shows how does it matter the way you show a story, and not only the story itself.

P4the animation did have some problems, But i thought it represented the game well. It wasn't a game that someone was playing, so giving Yu a weapon didn't make sense. To me it didn't. Also the animations did start to look crappy at some points. I thought the comedy was well implemented. Episode 20 where they all go to the inn was my favourite episode. It was soo jokes. the action scenes were great. Having a song only play for a short time doesn't make the show bad. Also the sonng they played on episode 25 was more fitting to the situation.

Also where can i watch episode 26?

your opinions gave me cancer

Then IGNORE them? ;)

I stopped watching after episode 8. Three words for you: Tent scene [insert insult here]. The game wasn't the best about that scene either by a long shot, but the anime made it 10 times worse by having the MC join in on the prickery. Apparently that whole "trust and acceptance" shebang didn't mean jack.
