Why are Donald and Goofy so weak?

I have tried to make them stronger I have given them ability rings is there anyway to make them stronger?

    I found Donald quite helpful magic wise. Goofy... I don't think he did much. xP

    Well you can't do anything with Goofy...He is Goofy.Now for Donald take some ability items (rings etc....).
