So I started writing this around July of this year LAST YEAR.

It is PG14...I suppose...There is some language, gore, and horror, also some romance (NONE OF 'THAT')

So....here we go. The story of Avis and Raven...two outcast who were sent to go find someone their people thought was a myth.

Chapter ONE...A Force with No Name

Avis, that’s her name; my dear friend. My name is Raven and I live in Bruce. Bruce is a fine land in the middle of the forest. I’m just normal 17 year old guy, nothing really special until that one day, but let’s not get to that right now. Bruce use to be a huge kingdom until a mad sorcerer came. He was a seeker of revenge. He wanted revenge on King Bruce. The sorcerers name was Madoc.  Madoc was a wicked man; he cursed many people, leading our city into darkness. We will talk about that later. You will learn about him.

Bruce is made up of many parts, we have Landon Kingdom. Landon Kingdom is a place where criminals become slaves. The ones who fallow by the 20 rules are praised, but if you get caught doing something wrong in Landon, then you’re a prisoner.  In Quad-trees, everything is peaceful. This is the place in all of Bruce were most people live. It is a wide spread neighbor-hood, surrounded by four, sacred trees. There are also the Outlands, forbidden to travel in. I still roam these lands, looking for that hidden treasure Avis told me about.

May I tell you the story of Avis? Avis was a beautiful girl that I met when I was 15. She was 13 with short, brown hair and amazing green eyes. Who she was born to was unknown. She arrived here alone, only an infant.  Avis was raised in an orphanage. One of my friends mother adopted her. Tane, my friend was furious. She started coming to my school in Quad-trees. I then fell in love with her. She was very kind and shy.

“Hello. I would like to introduce myself. I am Raven Bark.” I blushed after running into her in the middle the hall during school that first day.

She looked at me sharply, “I’m Avis, Avis Stone.” She said.

When she said that I was frightened, is this Tane’s Sister? Tane didn’t have a sister I knew of. Although Tane was popular and good at stuff, he never talked to girls and didn’t talk about his family.

“Excuse me, but are you Tane Stone’s sister?” I asked, careful with my words.

“No.” she shook her head.

“Are you related?” I asked.

“I’m an orphan and his mom adopt me okay?” she yelled, turning around.

She walked away and I really did not get to see her. She was not at school for a long time after that. Everyone was being rude to me and laughed. I stopped going to school, and one day I saw Avis again.

“Avis!” I yelled.

She looked at me with eyes of rage and turned to walk away.

“Sorry.” Was the one word I spit out without warning.

“What?” she asked looking into my eyes.

I hung my head, “Sorry”.

She hugged me for a minute and that was the most lifeless seconds of my life.

“Don’t cry. Someone’s always here. “I heard her say.

She left without another word. I could not talk or move. My mom came out there and told me to come in. It started raining a little while after. Everyone loves rain in Bruce.  It rarely dose rain in Bruce, that why everyone loved it. Then it started. Right then and there, a loud buzzing sound ringed over Quad-trees. Everyone started yelling.

“I’ve seen this before.” I heard my father say.

My dad took my mom to their room and talked for a few seconds.

“Raven, listen to me. Do exactly as I say. Go to your room pack up your some stuff and run.”  My mother told me.

She sounded serious, so I acted fast. I packed up a small bag of clothes, a blanket, and some food.

“Mom, what is this?” I finally asked.

“A dark force has threatened us once more, this happened to your father when he was your age as well. Only the brightest light can save us. Now go, run as fast as you can.” She said her parting words.

“What about you?” I asked.

“I and your father will be fine.” She told me.

As I walked out the door I realized that she gave me her silver rose necklace.

“She loved this, why did my mother give me it?” I thought.

I put the necklace on anyway. Then obeyed my parents, ran. I dropped by Avis’s house and she was in the corner of the living room whispering a prayer. The buzzing got louder.

“Avis! This is not the time we must go! Where are your Guardians?” I yelled.

“Gone, gone, gone.” She repeated.

“Let’s go now!” I yelled to her.

“Wait!” she yelled running to her guardian’s room.

She grabbed a jewel necklace and put it around her neck.

“I’m ready, want to use my horse?” she asked.

“Horse?” I questioned.

“Jay, let’s go!” she called.

A black horse quickly galloped by the door. We ran out and hopped on it.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“A cave Tane showed me.” She said.

We rode through the forest, past Landon Kingdom. We then rode down to an isolated spot by a stream. The buzzing had stopped. We only had a couple of hours to get ready for tonight. We got busy; Jay and Avis went to find something for beds, while I had to find food. I found some food, just a bird.

“You never said that and, Surprise!” Avis held up a bundle of fruit.

“Cheater.” I laughed.

“Whatever, try and get a fire started.” she said, plopping the fruit down.

I struggled starting a fire. While she set up our beds easily and quickly in the cave. We sat by the riverbed to eat.

“Having a problem there?” she asked me.

“No.” I said trying to avoid the truth.

Avis zoomed over and got dry pine straw and some sticks and sparked up the rocks making fire in less than a second.

“Show off.” I coughed.

I found some wooden cups I made a long time ago…I found these hidden in my room. I filled the cups up with river water but then was stopped by Avis.

 “Boil it.” She yelled.

“Boil it?” I asked.

“Do it!” Avis demanded.

I boiled the water on order.

“Thank you, Raven.” She said after eating.

I’ve never heard her say my name so I said, “Thank you to, Avis”.

Soon after, we both went to bed on a pile of leaves in the cave.

“A silent night, what was going on at the Quad-trees? What happened? What was my mother talking about? Did Avis say that her guardians and Tane where dead? What was the dark force? What was the jewel that Avis took from her parents? Why did my mother give me her rose bulb necklace? So many questions.” I thought. Then I slowly drifted off to sleep.

_

“HEY! Get up lazy bum!” Avis yelled, waking me up.

“What?” I asked turning around.

“Get moving.” She insisted.

I got into some new clothes while Avis found some fruit to eat. I walked out of the cave and it was a bright day.

“Eat.” Avis appeared in front of me holding out some blueberries.

As I ate Avis disappeared in the cave. When I was done, Avis came out of the cave wearing my clothes.

“Stealer!” I yelled.

“I got you a bed and extra food, about time you do something for me. So I stole your clothes.” Avis told me.

I sat down by the river. “What are we going to do now?” I asked Avis.

“Find out stuff about this ‘Dark force’. We will have to go to Landon Kingdom.” Avis said.

“Jay, let’s go.” She called.

“Wait!” I yelled going in the cave to grab my bag.

I got on top of Jay with Avis and we started to Landon Kingdom.  When we landed the guards let us in. That was extremely unusual since we are now outsiders. They let us through the metal gates. We walked to the Library of Landon kingdom.

“We need a book on the Dark forces.” Avis told the librarian, giving him a slip of paper.

I tied Jay up at a tree and walked inside. The stone building was a cool place to be on this hot spring day.  We both walked with the librarian to the back of the library.

Thanks Keys. I made the location, very similar to my front yard...but sadly, that is all I have typed. I will continue soon :)
