I mean, think about it. They have the EXACT SAME MYTHOLOGY. That can't be coincidence, i know they're part of the same sub series, but it has to be MORE THEN THAT.
The world in FF XV is definitely not GRAN PULSE or Cocoon(or the new cocoon Hope created), BUT that doesn't mean it still can't take place in the future of FF XIII on the same world.
Since LR FF XIII shows that a new world has been created by Bhunivelzefor humans to reside in, in which time flows naturally and is not corrupted with Chaos like Gran Pulse has, this means that its possible for this new world, TO BE THE WORLD THAT FF XV TAKES PLACE IN.
After LR FF XIII happens, its highly likely that the new world will be reinhabited by humans that Lightning saved, and they will begin to rebuild. The gods and other fal'cie(Like Linzei and Bhunivelze) retreat from the worldin order to avoid more world threatening problems like in XIII(I.E. the world being corrupted by chaos and time being destroyed), and the humans still worship the gods knowing they are real due to Etro and Bhunivelze's intervention in XIII.
Centuries later, the world has rebuilt itself, and the last remaining crystal of power is in the possession of Noctis's kingdom.
It makes sense for that to be the case. As for where Type 0 fits into all of this, i dont know, as i have not played or seen a playthrough of that game yet, so ill wait to answer where this can fit into it.
