._. A Soul. The thing that drives us, lets us think, feel, comprehend and feel. A heart holds the emotions itself, but interpreting them is the work of a soul. A soul shows personality, history, memory's, it's a representation of our pasts and futures. Soul's connect to each-other, sometimes in bad blood, sometimes in love. But when someone special comes along that can see the fragile thing that holds us together known as a "Soul", what will they do with that power? Some can see things, others can feel. Most of them are called "Psychic"'s and "Spiritualist"'s, but they're powers are different from those who we follow in this story; our protagonist's are called Seer's, they can see-and even interact if they are skilled enough- with the soul's of living beings.

Name: Raze Dell

Appearance: About 6"3', orange, curly hair that he keeps pushed upward to look kinda like spikes, often found wearing a flannel or graphic tee and dark-colored jeans. Wears black and blue High-Top DC's, has dark brown-almost-black eyes, slightly muscular.

Age: 17

Weapons of choice: dual-wielding blades, preferably a rapure and a katana or claymore.

Unique Skill(Other than soul perception): Avid and skilled fighter in most mediums of combat.

Bio: As a boy, he was treated like a robot servant, in a sense, often ordered to do many things beyond his skill level by his family, and many people were pretenders to him as a child. He didn't start realizing it till he was about the age of twelve. He was often bullied until high school, but during that time beforehand he somehow developed the ability to see soul's and became what is to be called a "Seer" during this time, and learned to use the ability to protect himself from others by exploiting their weaknesses, but since his eight-grade year he hasn't used the ability to do so, and now just stares at other people's soul's and examine them.

 

 

SOUL INFORMATION KNOWN SO FAR.

 

Soul's seen by other people are different due to a person's state of mind, view on the world, ECT., but generally despite the fact that the way they are seen is different, the definition of a soul is often seen as the same. (I.E., I see a soul as orange, which to me means that the person is very shy and not very outgoing or energetic, but you see it as purple, but it means the same thing as orange means to me, ect.)

 

Soul's have multiple shapes, this changes with a person's state of mind as well, but the shape dose have a general pattern which affects it's true definition. it follows:

 

Common

Looks like an orb-ish object, but has a large amount of "Spikes" that jet out of it and extend upon contact with someone new for reasons unknown as to now.

 

Uncommon(Shimmering)

They have a shape similar to a Common, but the spikes lie in a sub-level and a form of self-view appears over it(It makes a slight face-like covering that doesn't look like a human face[if that makes any sense]but what someone see's themselves as. They have an odd glow/shimmer to them.

 

Rare(Sparkling/Stainless)

Similar to Uncommon, they hold a self-view and color over the top of the actual soul, but they give off a sense of energy or power to them. They often are more noble/smart/specially talented and don't often bond with people too well

 

Dangerous

The base of the soul is completely flat, the color you receive is often dull or barely there at all. They are very unfriendly, extremely unstable and can break at any moment. Dangerous soul's can turn into Damaged soul's if too much stress when trying to bring them back to a stable state.

 

Damaged

Damaged soul's are of those who have lost their humanity, who have either willingly or unwillingly turned insane and homicidal, genocidal, or outright want to kill for no good reason. If a Soul of any kind becomes Damaged, it is extremely dangerous to be around as it's a ticking time-bomb. It's best to put them down immediately, if possible.

 

Compressed

Soul's that are like Damaged ones, only they have become like this due to constant abuse and pain. Their body's and minds are too fragile to withstand killing someone though, unless they become Damaged afterwards. This soulshape is one people who preform heinous acts, like school shootings often take on and are normally rare though. Only the weakest of soul's become Compressed, and weakest of weak become Damaged as well. Dangerous, Damaged, and Compressed soul's all lack the "Spikes" average soul's have and almost never bond to others, if they ever do.

 

Some humans lack soul's, or their soul response is very weak or too small for you to see. They behave like Common's normally, though. Their soul's, if they do have one, are abnormally strong despite a large signal or size.

Chapter One: Four eyes, Two eyes, one has a soul?

 

It was first period... Seven thirty in the morning, and everything seemed quite odd. Students going mad in class, a lot of them seemed to be missing their soul's. Somewhere near half of a thirty-two person class had been reduced down to about ten as many students seemed to become extremely ill or freak out for no reason and pass out. The teacher we had was adamant on having us conduct as a normal class despite this. "Before we get onto our bookwork for today class, I want to introduce Rini Kuroki, a transfer student from Wooden Shallows since everything has calmed down. Rini, get in here." The rough voice of the teacher boomed loud enough that the shaky, poorly built roof shuck a little. Raze's ears perked up at the teacher's mention of a new student, and he flinched a little when the teacher yelled. "A transfer? Intresti-" Was all he could think about after another one of the student's began to loose it as well and leaped onto him, tackling him out of his desk. The girl snarled, her short white hair and larger stature made her look more like a man, but that wasn't important. Raze punched the woman off of him, then pinned her under his leg. She then seemed to calm down, and Raze let his guard down, but when he did, the girl slipped out from under his foot an bit his leg.

 

"Flesh of a Seer is delicious..." A near silent voice muttered as Raze screamed from the bite, but she let go as soon as the new girl hat entered, and then pounced on her. "Mr. Clark, call a officer or something!" Raze yelled out, running over to the girl how had tackled Rini, and pulled her off, but she bi him again, this time on the arm, and ripped off a chunk of his arm. Her teeth had become razor sharp by now, and Raze screamed from the bite and tearing of his armflesh. He dislocated her arm and threw her into a wall, she seemed to be knocked out. Raze cursed under his breath a few times, she had tore all the way to the bone off, he put pressure on it best he could then yelled at the stunned teacher "Call a damn ambulance! Call someone!" He yelled before passing out.

 

-One week later-

Raze walked the halls again, his arm in a very hard cast. The halls were decollete; most of the student body had either withdrew or lost their minds within the last few weeks, and even some teacher's were being affected now, but they seemed to be keeping it under control better. As he walked the hall's, some of the teacher's eyed him hungrily. He used his soul seeing to try and see what was happening to them, but when he saw no soul there, he was quite confused. "Most of the teacher's here are with a soul, most of them weaker, but still... This is odd..." He thought, making it to his first period class. Only five class-members still there, Mr.Clark was just sitting there with a stupefied look. Most the teachers in the school had no more students, so it was to be expected. He took a seat in his normal spot and waited for the bell to ring.

Rini had stayed in this new school, despite the odd aura it had. Today was the day she was going to talk to this Raze boy. She kinda felt bad for him. He was bullied and got hurt really bad on the first day of school. She walked inside the classroom with her hoodies hood on, she wouldn't get in trouble until the late bell rang. Rini sat straight beside Raze, looking at him. She didn't speak imminently....she was curious. That girl that first day called him a Seer. She was a seer too...but she hasn't let anyone know.

When the girl from last week had sat in the desk besides him, Raze was slightly shocked. He doubted that the new girl would sit so close to him. "Maybe she just likes the seat? No... She must have a reason... Wait... She was also tackled by the girl from a while back, too... And she said something about me being a "Seer", the. She tackled her... Could that mean she can see soul"'s as well? I won't know till I talk to her..." His mind was a buzz with thoughts, but he forces himself to calm down and then talk to her. "H-Hello... Your name was Rini, right?"

Rini turned to Raze.

"Yes. Rini Kuroki. You are...?" she asked, looking at him.

He seemed nice at least. He was a Seer, Rini could tell.

"I uh... My name is Raze Dell. Junior student." Raze said, trying to think of something to say. He wasn't too sure of what he should though. Normally he's quiet, sits in front, ect., but now he had to think of something. "I know that the blunt approach isn't always the best, but I guess its all I got..." He thought. He decided to lean in and whisper. "I know this may seem a little strange... Especially coming from a guy you just met, but... Can you see the soul's of living things?" He asked.

Rini looked at Raze. She hesitated, but nodded slowly. As soon as she did, the warning bell rang and the last few people entered the class room. Rini took her hood off.

"I can see them....Raze. Are you the same?" She asked.

If he wasn't the same, she'd be in trouble.

"Uhh..." He muttered before nodding. As the bell rang for a little, but Mr.Clark did nothing. He sat there, still as out of it as ever. The class was-at first-weirded out. We sat there staring at each-other for a while, but the small number of students then broke off and did as they pleased. The group fo three happened to be friends, so they moved over to another corner of the classroom and left Raze and Rini by themselves. "This is odd... Mr.Clark is normally screaming at us by now..." He turned on his soul-perception. His body was empty. "...Crap... Rini, we may want to get out of here..."

"W–why...what about the others?" Rini asked turning too them.

One of the others glared at her, a small smile formed on the girls face. Rini stood up quickly.

"Come on." She said, looking down at Raze.

"Or those three might kill us or something." Rini muttered.m

"I think someone may have tried summoning some form of ghost or spirit to this school, and instead summoned a demon... Likely with a weegee board of some kind... And the demon is taking people's soul's for it's own... But what would it need of us?" Raze wondered, getting out of his chair, the teacher, Mr.Clark, finally slumped over and fell off of his chair. A large gash across his back had dried blood showing on it. "Okay, now I'm sure, we need to get out of here!" Raze grabbed Rini quickly, as the students in the back corner began to get up to attack them, and carried her into the hall, then quickly shut the door behind him and held it closed. "Rini, get going! I'll hold them in here, so just run!."

Rini started running off, but stopped.

"Find me, okay?" She said before running off.

She started heading towards the exit, but was stopped by a group of students. Possessed students. Rini had no choice but too do this now. With a simple way of her hand, all the students in front of her were frozen. She had to use her ice abilities. Rini found a way past the students, and soon got out of the building.

Raze saw Rini freeze the posessed students. "But how? Could she be a witch of some kind or.. ?" But he didn't have time for thinking. Quickly, more students and faculty ran at him. He knew he was going to have to fight. "He likely left their fighting instinct in so that they won't need orders. I have a good shot at winning." The students lunged at him. Perfect. He released the door, the three posessed students from the classroom flung themselves out and collided with the other group. Raze then grabbed one of the girls out of the pile and used her longer hair as a bit of a ranged weapon, throwing her at the teachers that stayed behind. "I'm glad almost no-one here has good fighting skills..." He mumbled, running down the bage hall. The tacky 70's multi-colored carpeting produced more footsteps. Raze jumpped back, ready for fight, when a regular student was the thing behind him. He was obviously a freshman, being so short. He was black, small, wearing your average band tee and skinyjeans with some Vans. "A-are you normal...?" The boy asked."Quite. Are you OK?" Raze asked as he turned on soul perception. Just a basic green soul..." He thought."I'm fine!" He sputtered out. "My name's Ibiu C. N.. I know, odd name. Blame my parents.""No time for loathing, we gotta get out of the hall." Raze and Ibiu ran to the door Rini ran out of, and made it to the outside. A large, open air courtyard below, a string of lockers leading to the Deans Office, bathrooms, the hall to the next class halls, a plane roof with columns holding it up, a staircase to the front of them, but dead body's were piled up on it to the point it was impossible to get around. The stench was dreadful. Holding his nose, he called out to Rini, hoping she could hear him.

Rini came running down from one of the hallways near Raze.

"Raze!" She called, bumping into Ibiu.

She looked at Ibiu, bowing her head.

"S-sorry..." She muttered, then looking at Raze.

"There are more headed this way. I don't know how we're going to get passed that though." Rini said seriously, pointing towards the pile of dead bodies.

Rini came running down from one of the hallways near Raze."Raze!" She called, bumping into Ibiu.She looked at Ibiu, bowing her head."S-sorry..." "Simple. Hold on tight." He said, grabbing Rini and Ibiu, he ran to one of the support pillars holding up the roof, it connected to the bottom quad area on both, and jumped, leaping between the two, he was doing a reverse of a wall jump in a sense between the two, and landed effectively n the ground, but then they got there, the rest of the faculty and students were in front of them. "Crap! Didn't think that they had this many of them!" He muttered. "Rini, could you do that ice thing again? I would try going back up, but..."

"No problem." Rini said simply, and with a small swipe of her hand, all the students and turned into ice.

"That won't last too long, so come on, lets hurry up." she said, starting to run through the frozen crowd.

She looked back at Raze and Ibiu, motioning them to follow her.

"We're gonna have to fight our way out... I know where we can get some stuff, a robotics class back up in the nine hundred halls..." Ibiu interrupted then. "My sister is held up in that room... That's what we had for first period. Her name is Isiub C. Cu. ...". Raze spoke again. "I guess you left her there because you thought we could get some help and come back for her... I see. We don't have may options other than heading back up to the nine-hundreds, then..." Raze tried to think of the next move they should take, but didn't have much of an idea of where to go from there. "Rini, do you have any idea's?"

"Let's go up to the 900's then...." Rini sighed, reaching over and pulling her hood on.

"We'll need to hurry though." She said turning towards Raze.

"Got it..." Raze started running to the nine-hundreds hall, Ibiu and Rini followed suit., they clamored up the concrete stairs as quickly as possible. There were body's piled up on the door's that led to the wall, but since the door opened the opposite way that they were piled up by, all Raze had to do was open the door. The body's spilled out, and the smell was excruciatingly disgusting, but they trudged through, eventually making it to the room without much interference. Ibiu opened the door and offered to Rini to enter first, and as she did, Ibiu closed the door on Raze, and a young woman, just as tall as Ibiu was appeared in front of Raze. "W-what!?" Raze yelled as the woman appeared. She had long, bluish hair that was just barely above the floor and a red shortdress. Her skin was a little tanner than the average person. 

 

In unison, both the girl and Ibiu transformed into larger, older forms. Their features were now more defined, they looked much more appealing, like a magic that caused attraction. An unnatural feeling of lust tried to overcome both Raze and Rini as they transformed. They said the same line "Would you like to have a little... Fun?". "Incubi and Succubi? No... So many people loosing their soul's from incubi and succubi... oh... she has ni-No! Keep focused! She and Ibiu aren't regular Incubi and succubi... A lot of missing soul's... The only kind of creature that could steal someone's soul that i know of without causing physical bodily harm is a Dementor... But those were made up in the Harry Potter series... Unless they exist, too?" Raze though, but a voice came up in the back of his head. "Come on, you know that she looks very sexy, just let her do what she wants after..." Raze shook the thoughts out of his head. "N-No. I gotta stay calm... I gotta fight her, okay, turn off all thoughts... Calm down... Breath..." He muttered as the Succubi approached him slowly.

She was just about on top of him when she reached her hand out and grabbed his, dragging it upwards, he acted on instinct: breaking out of the grab and grabbing hold of her wrist, he pulled her in and delivered a kick to her side, another, then another, then another. After the kicks finished, he set his leg behind her, then moved her arm behind her back and forced her to the floor with the pressure on her shoulder, he placed his knee on her back, but she turned to dust instantly, and then reformed above him and kicked him to the ground...

 

Ibiu approached Rini slowly, but very steadily. His body had become more rugged and masculine, he had become quite the handsome man in only a moment... When he got up close, he reached his hand up...

Rini immediately froze Ibiu's hand.

"No thank you." she snapped, skidding back and sending a spiral of ice towards Ibiu.

What was this? 

"Oh Rini, why do you deny it? You know you want too..." a voice said in the back of her head.

"Calm down Rini...get yourself together..." she thought.

Ibiu only smirked. His voice had a deep, masculine tone that was intended to sound alluring. "I see. You're the feisty type... I like feisty little girls." He chuckled a little, smashing his hand on the tile of the floor, it was freed from the ice and the ice spiral missed. He continued to advance at Rini after the spiral had missed him. "Come on... If you're afraid of getting pregnant... I have protection... Heh..."

 

The woman turned Raze over, but as she did, Raze backfisted her in the face, then eyejabbed her. She grabs Raze on the arm he eyejabbed him with her hand and pinned him down on that side, and then Raze when to free his hand, but she grabbed and pinned down that hand as well. "Like to struggle a bit beforehand, no? Don't worry, I doubt you're gonna take long..." She generated two more hands, and started reaching down at Raze when he dragged his legs in and kicked her in the stomach as hard as he could, she screamed and let go, clutching her stomach with her two primary hands and holding herself up with the newer ones, Raze used his now freed hands to punch the woman hard in the face multiple times, then flipped her over onto her back. "I think I prefer to be on top." He said, punching her one more time in the face and jumping back to his feet, he also curb stomped her stomach.

 

The woman was knocked out, and Raze sighed, and fell onto his back for a moment. His thoughts now returning to him, he actually had been unconscious throughout the fight. The voice rang in his ear again. "She's asleep... Nothing like a little "fun" with a sleeping girl, no?" It said, but he just ignored it, and got up, heading to the door, his vision was blurry. "I must have taken some decent hits during that... Ugh..." He trudged to the door, but he couldn't see it well, his eyesight failing him, he felt around for the doornob...

Rini shook her head.

"I'm not letting you lay a hand on me!" She snapped, shooting several ice beams of ice spinning quickly towards Ibiu.

As those beams were headed towards him, Rini surrounded herself in a small thick dome of ice, making sure Ibiu wouldn't be able to get her.

"Why is this happening.....?" She whispered to herself.

Rini shook her head. "I'm not letting you lay a hand on me!" She snapped, shooting several ice beams of ice spinning quickly towards Ibiu. As those beams were headed towards him, Rini surrounded herself in a small thick dome of ice, making sure Ibiu wouldn't be able to get her. "Why is this happening.....?" She whispered to herself.

Ibiu evaded a few of the first shots, but then was hit in the face and chest. He flipped backwards after the headshot, landing on his face, it was like he was close lined, but it didn't stop him for long. The ice had in fact created a small layer of ice on Ibiu, not passed through him like it should have. Same for his face, no scar, just an ice casing. He quickly broke his way free from the ice and began going over to the ice dome at a much faster pace that before. "You know, all your doing is turning me on more..." He had reached the dome and hit it, and hit it, more and more until it cracked, then broke. He picked up Rini by her neck and pushed her onto a near-by table, when another table from across the room landed on him. Raze ran over and jumpped onto the table and tried to hold him down, but he vanished like the woman did, and grabbed Rini then began to run for the door. Raze, however, was able to get up quickly and rush at Ibiu, knocking him to the floor again. "Rini, I have an idea! Freeze him all over then hit the lightswitch!" Raze yelled out before Ibiu ggot up and grabbed Raze. "I'm not into men, so I'll kill you..." Ibiu then started to assault Raze, flurrys of blows from every direction, and all Raze could think was "Ibiu is stronger... The lights in this room are off... If I take the beating Rini might be able to get my plan to work..." Raze's body was screaming. He was using his still recovering arm for two battles in a row, and he was taking a beating. He wouldn't last too much longer if something wasn't done...

Rini froze Ibiu in a thick layer of ice, quickly running and turning on the light switch. The lights flickered a bit, but stayed on. She ran over to Raze's side.

"We need to get out of here..." She said, helping Raze up.

Raze's blood dripped from his face, he had some signifigant injurys, like a busted up lip, a cracked skull, and brusing all over, but he was still alive none the less. "No need... I knocked out the one in the hall... And if my hunch is correct, they won't be able to do anything for a long time..." He muttered, waking over to the ice, he knocked on it a few times. "Yeah... It's over... I was right. They are creatures that rely heavily on the dark, and he was real strong, despite being in the sun for some time, meaning he likely absorbed a bunch of darkness to use as energy... But since ice refracts light, it increased the strength of the indoor light effect." Raze breather a little on the ice and saw Ibiu trying to escape to no avail after clearing the fog off. "light would weaken a dark-relying creature, but I would assume that normal indoor lighting won't affect them without a modifier. They wouldn't get any stronger or weaker. So I guess we should freeze and move the both of them into the sun so we can destroy them..."
