He was pretty easy to kill in the original. Only Terra had a difficult time of it, and even then a hit and run strategy worked pretty well (throw in an Ars every so often if you're lucky).

 

Aqua had Seeker Mines, and Ventus has Tornado (so cheap... so wonderful) so it's a pretty easy battle. It just seems like a difficult fight because he has low HP but stupidly high defense, so your attacks do minimal damage.

 

I don't know if it was changed from the original, but if anything it could probably stand to be a bit harder (at least for Ventus).
