金色猫 - Golden Cat.

A contract...and a devil

Why are you in despair, O my soul?

The answer to this is simple...

That soul is no longer yours.

~Kuroshitsuji~

Not to far away from London, around the end of the 1800's...

There is a young girl whom lives in a mansion.

She works for the queen...in the dark arts of course.

This girls name is Aya Everus, head of the Everus clothing line.

She resides with her mysterious butler and lousy houseworkers.

That butler...is named Veran Sterben.

Now Veran is not all as he seems...

He is not human...but you didn't hear that from me.

When Lady Aya achieves her ultimate goal of pure revenge...

her soul belongs to Veran.

It is his to the core.

Normal KH13 rules appy.

No overly long, or too short post. At least one sentence will do as long as it hits all the points needed.

Gore in spoilers.

Make this damn wonderful.

Aya just started laughing. "Only a butler like you would do this, Veran." She said, smirking. "I don't really mean any of that, but you are literally the cutest thing." She said simply.

Aya laughed.

"Not in a million years." She scoffed, sitting a bit closer to Veran and hugging her knees.

"Do you think that...he...will find me again...?" Aya asked, looking at the dirt and grass.

"I haven't a clue." He whispered sadly, "But if he does, I believe I can deal with it appropriately."

(Sorry for this short post.)

"Let's go back inside..." Aya muttered, slowly standing up and starting to walk back.

Veran stood up with a nod, carefully guiding his mistress back inside the mansion.

Noon came by fast, the mansion was ready and a knock was heard that the door.

The guest had arrived.

Veran sighed and quickly made his way to the door. He opened it before the person could knock again, smiling the moment the door was open.

"Hello, welcome to the Everus estate. I trust that you are hear to speak to Lady Aya?"

(Who should it be?)

The head of the Samsons men's clothing company strolled through the Everus doors.

"Yes, thank you." The heavy man said, making herself welcome.

Aya was beside her stairs, her eyes gazing at Mr. Samson himself.

"Welcome." She greet.

"Oh Lady Aya! You are as beautiful as ever!" The man exclaimed.

"We have business to discuss Sampson." Aya said rather darkly, the man nodding slowly.

"Let's go to the dining room, it is a bit past noon so we will be proving you with lunch." She said, looking at Veran to lead the way.

"I shall see what the cooks have prepared this afternoon." Veran bowed to them, walking out of the foyer before halting once he was out of eye's view. He had to always ensure that his lady was safe and alright before doing anything. After a few moments of reassurance, he nodded and headed off to the kitchens.

Aya lead Mr. Sampson so the dining room, sitting straight across from him. Both of them on opposite sides of the table.

"I want my clothing line to merge with yours!" Mr. Sampson exclaimed.

Aya looked at Sampson like he was stupid.

"The Everus clothing line only sells woman's and children's dresses." She said simply.

"But you could also sell men's and boys clothes too! You would get so much more business." Sampson insist.

"I have enough business and plus designs are all made by me. I don't need anyone's help." Aya snapped.

"But you're so young!" Mr. Sampson yelled.

"Age does not determine anything." Aya snapped.

"Sandwiches?" Veran suddenly asked, walking in with a silver tray, "Just some ordinary sandwiches, perfect for snacking while you go on about your...business."

Veran placed the tray down on the table between the man and Aya. He stood up straight, arms behind his back in the most butlery of fashions, "Is that all you need of me, my lady?"

Aya looked at Veran, it was a look insisting him to stay with her.

"Yes, that is all." She said, smiling slightly.

"Lady Aya I insist wor-" Aya cut off Sampson from talking.

"If you proceed to argue, I will have you leave here and now. However I would like you to join me for lunch." She said seriously, taking a sandwich and biting into it.

"Yes ma'am..." Sampson muttered.

Aya did have the authority here.

Veran nodded and stood against a nearby wall. She wanted him nearby, likely for the comfort of his presence. He would, if need be, jut into the conversation and cut this man short, if he did anything that might insult are go against his lady's wishes. This butler aimed to please...and please he often did.

After the two ate, Aya insist Mr.Sampson leave, and he did just that.

As soon as the door closed behind him, Aya let out a loud sigh, rubbing her temples.

"What a headache..." she sighed, beginning to walk upstairs.

"Shall I prepare a tonic for my lady?" Veran asked, "Something to soothe this ache of yours? I could also deal with the ache at the source...this is more personal, of course, considering poor Mr. Sampson won't be around to see your ache's healing."

Veran smiled a bit. He could assassinate anyone, no trouble at all, so as long as he was asked. That's all Aya had to do.

"No, don't kill him. He listened to me." Aya said, arriving at her messy office with Veran.

"Something to help it would be nice." She sighed, laying her head down at the desk and throwing some dress designs off her space.

"I'll get you a glass of water then." Veran said to her, leaving and soon returning with a cold glass of water. He set it down beside her, before patting her head very gently, "If you need anything else...well, just ask."

  • Author

Aya took a sip of the water, looking up at Veran.

"When is my next guest arriving?" She asked.

"In a few hours. This one, unfortunately, is going to be even more of a headache. One Arnold Stranswood, from the Stranswood family. He is a suitor, and is coming likely to ask for your hand. I already can predict what my lady will say." Veran said, smiling a bit. Oh how he loved the distraught looks on these suitor's faces when Aya rejected them.

Aya laughed a bit darkly, smiling.

"Why do people even bother?" She asked, finishing off her water.

"Let's just hope this one doesn't have a revenge up his sleeve."

"Oh, if he does, I'm sure there is something that can be done about it." Veran said with his usual I'm-a-demon-butler smile, "I'm sure eventually these men will realize that Aya Everus is not someone you can so easily woo with a kind word and the offering of money. You must work for it."

Eventually the evening came and there was yet another know at the Everus door, Aya and Veran quickly making their way downstairs to the door.

(CONTROL THE SECOND GUEST PLEASE)

(I shall.)

Upon opening the door, they were greeted by a young man and his own butler. The young man couldn't have been any older than Aya, and the butler himself resembled Veran in a few ways--namely the dark hair, sharp eyes, and youthful complexion. There was a moment of silence between the four, before Veran finally spoke up:

"Welcome to the Everus estate. I am Veran, my lady Aya's butler."

"And this is Arnold Stranswood." Arnold's own butler replied, "I'm sure you know."

"Quite."

"Welcome, please come inside." Aya greeted, leading the group to a smaller room where a game of checkers was set up.

Aya was not one for chess, she preferred checkers and cards. She sat at one of the ends of the board, the end with the black checkers.

"Please sit. Veran, would you like to get us some refreshments?" She asked, looking to Veran.

"As you wish." Veran said, bowing and walking out.

"So," Arnold began, looking straight at Aya, "I am sure you know why I am here. It is not by my own hand that I am--it is by my fathers. But I am here simply to ask for your hand. My father was quite insistent that we wed. I'm sure know him? Leader of Stranswood Industries?"

His butler nodded with a smile, "A very prolific man his father is."

Arnold and Aya began their game, and Aya silent for a second before looking up at Arnold with cold eyes.

"I refuse." She snapped, jumping Arnold and taking his piece.
