Dark X Portals

One day, on a surprisingly peaceful morning in the Digital World, there were many happy, playful, and even competitive Digimon enjoying the calming and relaxing sun. There was a Digimon, a Veemon that goes by the name Vaan. He was quite energetic and always loved a good adventure. He and his good friend Galahad, a Kotemon, were roaming the streets of their lively town looking for something to do. "Today, I am confident that an adventure is just waiting for us." Said Vaan, with a confident look on his face.

 

Suddenly, they heard screaming coming from the other side of town. "You better get out of here! There's an enormous portal coming from over there, and it's swallowing everything!" A panicking Digimon tells the two.

"Yeah, a grand quest where we can fight glorious battles and save fair maidens." Galahad said, swinging his bamboo sword. When he heard the screaming, he turned around where it came from. "Sounds like the call of adventure!" he said. "Let's go save them!"

"Right!" Said Vaan, as the two rush ahead to find this 'portal.'

 

As the two reach the other end of town, they finally found the portal. It was full of dark, red, and dimension-ripping power. It was literally pulling in all things around it. Even Digimon. Vaan stands forward, "What in the world is that? It must be the portal." Vaan grabbed his blue, grand sword, and yells to Galahad, "We need to destroy it!" And without thinking twice, ran at the portal, and instead of actually slashing it, the portal pulled in the Sword along with Vaan. "You will not destroy my world, or my friends!!"

"Vaan!" Galahad yelled, running after him, only to be sucked in too.

And so, the two digimon were sent through the portal, not knowing where it will lead. Soon but surely, they will see where destiny takes them.

In a whole separate world, there lived many Pokemon, some living in peace and some keeping the peace together. On that very same day, there was a Pokemon, one that does not want any other name but the very thing he is, Frogadier. He is one who fights for the peace and protects the Pokemon who cannot. He has two friends, one being Ken, an Eevee, and the other who goes by the name Arthur, a Gallade. Though they were all very different ages, the three were the best of friends. Frogadier was sitting near a pond, right under a shady tree. "Whew, finally, a day to just relax and enjoy a peaceful, sunny day." Frogadier said to Ken and Arthur. "I really wished days like this were more often..." Frogadier sighed.

"It is nice to relax every so often." Arthur said. "However, you know I'm a man of action, I like the adventure, I live for it." As he said this, he clenched his fist.

"Don't worry Arthur, I'm sure you epic adventure will come very soon. Just make sure I don't get chucked in the middle of everything. I prefer the quiet life." Ken looked really nervous as he said this.

The three sat there thinking about many things: adventure, peacekeeping, and much more.

 

The air above them started to feel abnormally hot, yet at the same time, extremely cold too. "Wait, you feel that?" Frogadier said as he wiped some sweat off his head. "This isn't normal temperature..."

 

Suddenly, a mysterious, Dark Blue Portal appeared above them. This startled the three. "Wh-what is that? Some sort of cold, dark, void." Frogadier was shivering a bit, but staying strong.

 

And that, it when they all finally met.

What came through the portal were Vaan and Galahad, who were sent through a portal that led to the three Pokemon's tree. Vaan was coming to his senses, and looked around him and saw these three. The three looked back at Vaan and Galahad. "Where... are we? And what are you? You don't look like Digimon to me." Vaan was very confused.

"We could ask the same of you." Arthur said. "You certainly don't look like Pokemon."

The portal suddenly vanished. Vaan got up, and shook Galahad around to get him up. "Hey, are you alright, Galahad?" Vaan asked. "Oh yeah, that's right. I haven't introduced myself. I'm Veemon, but everyone calls me Vaan, and this is my friend, a Kotemon, who goes by the name Galahad. So how about you?"

 

Frogadier smiles a bit, then answers, "I'm Frogadier, this is Ken, who's an Eevee, and Arthur, a Gallade."

 

Vaan looks up in the sky in wonder. "What are these portals all about? In my world, one was swallowing up everything. But the one here just vanished." Vaan said.

 

"I don't know what's going on, but I sense an evil presence that is very close. I'll go check it out."

Frogadier runs up a nearby building and looks around. He sees a metallic-armored monster attacking a bunch of Pokemon a little while away. "Hey! There's a giant Pokemon attacking the town a few blocks over! Let's hurry!"

"Oh man! Some of my old friends live in that town!" cried Ken. He felt a strong rush of determination as he ran alongside his Pokemon companions and new Digimon friends to see what all the commotion was about.

As the group arrives at the scene, they all see the giant monster. "Wait, that's Monochromon!" Vaan yelled. "He looks different somehow. He has glowing red eyes."

 

Frogadier looks over and notices a Dark Ring surrounding Monchromon's stomach and back. "He's wearing a mysterious black ring... Maybe that's what's controlling him!" Frogadier tries an attack on the ring.

 

Monochromon just barely felt it and didn't even get a scratch, but when he felt it, he turned to Frogadier and Roared, and within a moment, he was really ticked. Vaan cried, "Frogadier! I think I've seen this before! We need a champion Digimon in order to break them!" Vaan attempted to digivolve, "V-mon digivolve to...! ... Eh... What happened? I can't digivolve!" Vaan started to become quite confused. "Galahad! You try digivolving!"

Arthur leaped up, slashing with his arm blades.

 

Galahad nodded "Right!  Kotemon digivolve to...  It's not working!  I can't Digivolve!"

"What?! Oh man, this is not good." Vaan was nervous. He was becoming unsure if they could ever stop Monochromon.

 

But as the team was attacking the Dark Ring, Frogadier noticed a strange orb that was glowing in the ground. "Hey! There's a strange orb over here! It looks important!" Frogadier shouted to the others.

 

Vaan ran over and grabbed the orb, and suddenly, he felt an immense power coursing through him. "Whoa! This power... It's the power of Digivolution!!" Vaan gathered up his courage once again and concentrated. Then suddenly, a large, orange symbol appeared in the sky. "Veemon digivolve to..." A glow was coming from Vaan. Using the power of the courage he gained, he finally digivolved. "Flamedramon, the Fire of Courage!" He had Red armor with the Crest of Courage on the back.

 

Frogadier was shocked. He and the others were amazed by this transformation. "Wow! This is no ordinary Evolving! What is this?!" Frogadier said.

Ken was amazed by the sudden transformation that had happened. "Wow! How did you do that?" Ken had seen some Pokemon evolve before, but it was never this cool looking. The orb kind of reminded him of the different elemental stones that could help him evolve.

Vaan readies himself. "This is a type of transformation we Digimon use to defend others and ourselves called 'Digivolution'. I have become Flamedramon, a Champion Level Digimon." Vaan says in a very serious tone. "Now, let us free this Monochromon from the clutches of that Dark Ring."

 

The Monochromon charged towards Vaan. But with a single, large jump, Vaan dodges it with ease. During his jump, he actually grabs Monochromon's tail and stops him in his tracks. "Sorry, but this is for your own good!" Vaan says. Then he pulls and spins Monochromon around and tosses him, causing collateral damage to both the Dark Ring and a nearby building.

 

"Hey! Careful where you're aiming! There are Pokemon still evacuating!" Frogadier yelled to Vaan.

 

Monochromon gets back up and shoots fireballs from its mouth. Vaan quickly dashes towards them, punching the fireballs with his armored fire gauntlets. Finally, he strikes from above with his special attack. "Fire Rocket!!" Vaan dives down while engulfed in flames and smashes the Dark Ring. "Well then, that should do it!" Finally, the Monochromon stopped attacking and its eyes became normal again. "There. You are no longer under the control of the Dark Ring!"

The Monochromon laid down in pain from the many wounds it gained while it was being controlled. "Yeah! You did it, Vaan! That was incredible! But it looks to me like Monochromon here is still in pain. We need a Hospital Chansey." Frogadier leaned down to check Monochromon's wounds. "Arthur! Can you go get one?" Frogadier looks towards Arthur with trusting eyes.

 

Vaan suddenly reverted back to Veemon. "Whoa. Did you guys see that? This strange red orb somehow gave me the power to digivolve. And strangely, it feels like it still has some juice left!" Vaan said in a cheerful tone. Vaan passes the Red orb to Galahad. "Next time, YOU can try using it, Galahad!"

"On it!" Arthur said, dashing off to find one.

 

Galahad took the orb and could feel the power that resided in it.  "Thanks Vaan." he said, putting it in a pouch he carried.

Vaan was relieved that they stopped Monochromon, but he was still bothered by something. "That is still quite strange though. How did he get that Dark Ring on him? And also, where did that strange orb come from?" Vaan was meditating on the thought.

 

"It's not a matter of how, but rather, WHO?" Frogadier turned toward Vaan and Galahad. "Say, what color did you say the portal you entered was? You said it was red, right?"

 

"Vaan scratched the back of his head. "Huh, I think so. Do you remember, Galahad?"

 

"And that orb is also red, right?" Frogadier got up and walked over to Galahad. "Can I see it for a moment, please?"

Galahad handed the orb over as Arthur arrived with a Chansey.

"Ah, good, thank you Arthur! Can you help him, Nurse Chansey?" Frogadier nodded as he was referring to Monochromon.

"Oh my! This is gonna be a tuffy! Where does it hurt?" The Chansey rushed to aid the Monochromon.

 

"Now, let me see..." Frogadier held the orb for a few moments, hoping to sense something. "Hmm... Nothing. Ken, Arthur, could you hold it for a few moments as well?" Frogadier handed the orb to them.

 

"What are you looking for?" Vaan asked Frogadier, confused by what he was doing.

 

"Just wait and see." Frogadier told Vaan. "I am testing something."

Arthur held it and said "Nothing's happening."  He passed it on to Ken.

Ken tried holding the orb which proved to be a difficult task since he had all four legs. Instead he placed it on the ground and put his paws on the orb, slightly nervous as if he expected something to jump up. Everyone looked on eagerly, but nothing happened.

"Yes, just as I thought. It seems that us Pokemon cannot use this particular orb in any way." Said Frogadier. "But, this doesn't mean we can't find one the is usable by us." Frogadier passes the orb back to Galahad.

 

Vaan was still concerned about something. "So, if there ARE more Digimon, or even Pokemon, that ended up like Monochromon here, does that mean that we should go and help them out? I mean, knowing the way the Digital World is with any kind of portal-like disturbances, there's probably more where that came from." Vaan said to his friends. "I know we just met, but somehow, I have a feeling that us meeting was no accident."

Galahad pocketed the orb as Arthur said "Yes, it seems this was our destiny.  Creatures from two worlds teaming together to save both.  Sounds like a grand adventure indeed."

"Yeah! Let's work together for a great cause! We'll find the one who took control of Monochromon and whoever else he takes control of!" Vaan said in agreement.

 

As the team got ready to depart, Monochromon recovered and could stand once again.

 

"Yay! You feel better, honey! Chan-sey!" Nurse Chansey said in cheerfulness.

 

The Monochromon walked over to to Vaan and Nuzzled him. "He-ey! That tickles! You are very welcome!" Vaan laughed. Then, the Monochromon turned and laid down in a welcoming way.

 

"Hmm... I think he wants to help us out." Frogadier said to the team. "We thank you, Monochromon. Now, is everyone coming? Ken, Arthur, you ready?"

 

"Well, I can definitely say we are all in this together now." Vaan said, as he put out his hand. "On three..."

 

Frogadier put his hand in with Vaan's.

Both Galahad and Arthur put their hands in.
