I agree with every single word he said. In all honesty, I think the sticker star and color splash formula could work, BUT only if they use the complains of the older paper mario fans and listen to the fans that actually like the formula to make both sides of the fanbase happy.

From what I've heard people at E3 have said color splash was good.

What sucks is that the interview or whatever the guy mentioned in the video said confirms to me they don't give a flying firetruck about Paper Mario fans. It's that whole "We do what we want; firetruck fan input" ideology from Nintendo again. (And again talking in general about Nintendo, as I know not every director, producer, etc is like this.)

 

I'd love to say money talks, but watch them pull some bullshit and say we, Paper Mario fans don't like the series anymore, therefore we will stop making Paper Mario for good, when they know damn well why it didn't do well/follow their expectations.

He's the one that changed the gameplay with Sticker Star because he didn't like the early build of it back when it was still in developement. And I bet you the only reason why they're sticking to the same gameplay elements accept this time with the paint and cards is because apparently Japanese fans liked Sticker Star and the game even sold well over there.
