    One thing I can say to the dad is: Humiliating will not solve the problem but will make things more complicated. There should be a guide for parents to follow on how to handle the situation. I think the dad was fed up and didn't know what to do with his son anymore. Sometimes we can't blame the parents because there are kids who are just taking things for granted specially their education. What the father should have done was a productive punishment because what he had done was going to lower the kids self confidence and esteem which is not good.
