Personally i like anything apart from jazz. Some good bands you could look up tho would be Weezer, Barenaked Ladies, Sleeping With Sirens, Escape The Fate, Three Days Grace, Anberlin, Death Cab For Cutie, MatchBox Twenty, Say Anything... Honestly I could list bands for hours but those are pretty good starters.
