As Andrew was lost in thought three shadowy circles appeared on the ground. Each one shaped itself into a humanoid dark creature with two antennas on its head. The three creatures slowly crawled towards Andrew, not even paying heed to their other guest. They were twenty feet away. Fifteen. Ten. Five...four...three.
All of a sudden they pounced, each lunging at the boy, sharpened claws ready to strike, but Andrew was faster. In a blink of an eye, he rolled to the left, the creatures' attacks landing harmlessly in the sand, and summoned his loyal weapons, the Shock Slicers. Quick as the lightning he wielded, he struck the first creature with the jagged end of his blade, vanishing it on the spot. The next creature pounced again only to have it's attack blocked by the second blade. Taking advantage of its being stunned by the impact, Andrew sent it reeling into the last creature, finishing them both. He was only allowed a few short breaths before the next wave began.
This time several orbs of darkness appeared, a small, armored dark creature appearing from them. Andrew took the first by surprise, ramming his shoulder into it, knocking it and two of its friends down. Yelling "Thunder!", he called a small bolt of lightning down on all of them, finishing all of them off and forcing them to disappear and drop their hearts. Andrew had no clue, why some dark creatures dropped hearts, but he figured out a correlation a few days ago. It seemed that every creature who bore a strange, heart-shaped symbol somewhere on its body dropped a heart. As Andrew reviewed this, he felt a sharp kick in his back. Ignoring his pain, he saw a lone armored creature, responsible for the attack. Annoyed, he beat the creature with both of his blades, until it disappeared, leaving its heart behind.
Andrew, winded from the battle, checked his back for injuries. Luckily it was just a small bruise. Unfortunately, another orb appeared, sending out another creature.
This one was different. It was much bigger than it's predecessors. Much fatter too. The young warrior had fought once before. Though he defeated it, the battle wore him out. Shortly after the battle he passed out, waking up to Kaylee bandaging his injuries. Fatso, which he dubbed this creature, charged straight towards him. Andrew just managed to block the attack with his Slicers, but the impact sent him back a few feet. Then the creature jumped high into air. Knowing this attack, Andrew took advantage of it running behind it, jumping to avoid the shockwave, and landing a hard combo on the weak point that was it's back, followed with a quick thunder attack. Fatso reacted quickly. Using both of it's arms, it swung them sideways, knocking Andrew in the air. Then it unleashed the most powerful attack it had. Hopping on its belly, it slid, knocking Andrew back, while bouncing him repeatedly. Kneeling in pain Andrew saw the creature slide in the water, and get up, ready to attack. "Wait, the water! Of course!" Calling the rest of his power, Andrew put both of his blades together, both glowing. All of a sudden, with a "THUNDER!" A powerful bolt shot out from the two touching tips. It landed on the water at Fatso's feet, and conducted straight into the creature. With a roar, it disappeared, releasing it's heart.
Exhausted from the fight, Andrew sat down on the sand, taking out a high potion to drinkas he rested.
The dark creatures haven't stopped appearing when Destiny Island returned. After realizing the dangers these creatures posed, Andrew took up the role of the guardian of the world, none of the other inhabitants able to fight these things. After a while, everyone noticed their protector, the Mayor hiring Andrew as the bodyguard so he could make Munny. He would've made a lot more, but Andrew only accepted enough to make a living. The more important thing was defending his friends.
Larxene, who was watching the entire thing, stepped out from behind Bush. "Good show, but kind of weak," she said "now if you truly want power, you should join our little group."
