Kingdom Hearts makes cameo in PlayStation's 30th Anniversary video
To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the PlayStation, Sony has released a special "Thank You" video on the PlayStation Youtube Channel. The video shows different video game franchises that have shaped the legacy of the PlayStation with a tagline "It's About" that is accompanied with a single word that best describes the game being shown. Many games are shown from God of War and Uncharted to Batman: Arkham Knight and Sly Cooper, but one video game series has been part of the PlayStation since the early 2000's: Kingdom Hearts. The shot from the intro of Kingdom Hearts III with Sora and the others facing off against Master Xehanort was shown in the video with the tagline "It's about Connection", symbolizing the connections that the PlayStation has with its fans similiar to Sora's connections in the series. [UPDATE]SuperGroupies announces new special items for the Kingdom Hearts collection; pre-orders up on SuperGroupies(JPN) and Aitai Kuji
SuperGroupies have announced 18 new pieces for their Kingdom Hearts collection. These items include a Shoulder multi-purpose pouch, Stoles (light scarf) with charms, and Sneakers for Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Axel, and Xion. Additonal information for the items are as follows: Shoulder Multi-Purpose Pouch The pouches are colored black on the exterior with different logos for each character (crown for Sora, x for Riku, Wayfinder for Kairi, etx.). They can hold essential items such as Smartphones or cards for on the go. Each pouch also has a inner lining within the zipper pocket that is unique to each trio. Sora, Riku and Kairi have Kairi's Good luck charm, the message in the bottle, the raft, and the door in the secret location. Roxas, Axel and Xion have Twilight Town complete with the Clock Tower, the Old Mansion, sea-salt ice cream, and sea shells. Stole & Charms The stole (light scarf) has a checkered pattern detailed with a motif that include items like the Keyblades (Sora, Riku, Roxas, and Xion), Axel's Chakrams, and Kairi's necklace. The motif is styled like the Stained Glass for many of the characters in the Dive to the Heart. Sneakers The sneakers, while comfortable, are detailed with motifs from the series like the hearts and Sora's crown. The heel has the heart on it. The tongue on the shoe is red with the crown, Heartless Emblem, and the Wayfinder for Sora, Riku, and Kairi. Roxas, Axel, and Xion's version is silver with Roxas' pattern and emblem along with XIII and sea-salt ice cream bars. The insoles are breathtaking as they are detailed with the Station of Awakening. Each step with send you down the path your heart commands, including the doves. Orders for the items have begun on SuperGroupies JPN site and will be open until November 5th. Shipping will start in late April 2025. The pouch will cost ¥13,200 (about $89.00), the stole with cost ¥14,300 (about $96.00) and the sneakers will cost ¥15,400 (about $103.00). Tetsuya Nomura comments on the past and future of the Kingdom Hearts series in interview with Young Jump
Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura was recently interviewed by Japanese magazine Young Jump. In the interview, Nomura was asked mostly about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth but did answer a couple of questions pertaining to the Kingdom Hearts series, including keeping managing lore in his team, what we may expect in Kingdom Hearts Missing Link and Kingdom Hearts IV, and when he may retire. [UPDATE] Kingdom Hearts Missing Link Android Closed Beta Test pushed back to May 2nd; second iOS test announced for Australia and United Kingdom
Sqaure Enix have announced on the Japanese Twitter/X account that the Android Closed Beta Test for Kingdom Hearts Missing Link will be pushed back a week. The CBT will now been conducted between May 2nd and May 10th. Players will be notified on or around April 26th. In addition, a second iOS CBT will be happening during the same time as the Android CBT. This means the next CBT will be running on both Android and iOS systems, so this might mean that Kingdom Hearts Missing Link is within the last part of testing. UPDATE (April 22, 2024): Sign up for the second iOS closed beta test has begun for Australia and United Kingdom. The sign up period will be from Apr 22nd to Apr 26th. You can apply by clicking here.

UPDATE: Kingdom Hearts IGN interview with composer Yoko Shimomora on accepting the 2024 Lifetime Achievement award; looking back at her work in Kingdom Hearts and other games; progress on the soundtrack for Kingdom Hearts 4
In a recent interview with IGN, Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura discusses about her previous work not only in the Kingdom Hearts series, but with many other series including Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Live A Live, and more as she is the recipient of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Game Developers Choice Awards. In addition, Shimomura has begun work on the soundtrack for Kingdom Hearts IV. You can read the entirity of the interview here. UPDATE: IGN's story was updated to say the following: Correction: A previous version of this story said Shimomura was working on several songs for Kingdom Hearts 4. That was a misunderstanding, and this article has been updated to reflect that Shimomura instead meant she's working on various tracks for several different games.

New Kingdom Hearts artwork celebrates the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The Japanese Kingdom Hearts Twitter account tweeted a new piece of artwork commemorating the launch of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. This artwork depicts Sora in Quadratum watching Sephiroth, who is wearing his Kingdom Hearts attire, on multiple screens, similar to the advertising Square Enix did in Shibuya over the past couple of days.
