*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
Well to be fair it’s semi my fault. I sent an email saying the problem was solved after it seemed like it was. When I realized it still wasn’t only minutes later, I immediately replied again saying nevermind it’s still bad. The support staff probably looked at my first reply, said “good enough” and then cleared everything without reading my other message.

Squeenix Support took my response to their email explaining that the issue hasn’t been resolved and sent me back “happy to hear the issue has been resolved, we’re closing the ticket now” I’m gonna commit heart unlock

I just wanna play KH3 with my preferred controller man why does it hate me In a bizarre twist now the problem is consistent where it only happens when using the Bluetooth adapter, as plugging the adapter into my laptop created the same result when trying to play the game there. But I stg the first time I tested my laptop and the adapter is worked fine And I stg unplugging the keyboard on my main PC did fix the problem for all of five minutes before it came back Aaaaaa

well actually scratch that because it might have been a fluke because now the issue is happening again even with the keyboard unplugged

But it’s not just any keyboard, it’s specifically my MSI gaming keyboard. I tested a separate usb keyboard and the controller worked fine. The email I got says specialized gaming keyboards can conflict with other devices. Strangely enough, the problem disappears when I unplug my keyboard So the double-input problem exclusively occurs with KH3 when both the DS4 adapter and my keyboard are in use But it’s not just any keyboard, it’s specifically my MSI gaming keyboard. I tested a separate usb keyboard and the controller worked fine. The email I got says specialized gaming keyboards can conflict with other devices.

New interesting wrinkle to the problem I just discovered This whole time ive been using the official playstation bluetooth adapter. Out of curiosity I tried using the Dualshock 4 wired to my PC instead, and voila, it worked perfectly fine, no sensitivity issues but WHY the adapter worked just fine when I used it with my laptop

I’m teetering on the edge of that lol It’s just frustrating because I can’t seem to replicate the problem on any other device Which means it’s something specifically to do with my PC And that complicates things

*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
Every several weeks I come back to this channel with the same question in hope that someone might have a solution. I have a really specific KH3 PC problem that I have been troubleshooting for months with no avail... So for some reason, in KH3, ONLY while using a dualshock 4, and ONLY on my main PC (I tested this on my laptop too and it worked fine), the thumbsticks register as if its twice the input so camera sensitivity as well as movement sensitivity (including basic movement, shotlock, gummi camera) is absurdly high I have no idea what is causing it. I'm not using DS4W because KH3 has built in DS4 support Even when launching the game through steam with Steam's controller settings, KH3 overrides it with its OWN controller settings once the game opens No other game on my PC has this problem with DS4

I also tested using a different DS4 just to be sure. So to recap: this analog sick sensitivity issue is EXCLUSIVELY happening to Kingdom Hearts 3 and no other program, and ONLY on my main PC, and ONLY with Dualshock 4 controllers. This is gonna be one hell of a needle in a haystack problem to solve

So new interesting wrinkle to add to this issue I installed KH3 on my laptop and replicated the conditions to see what would happen And on my laptop the controller works absolutely fine No sensitivity problems Which means that the game being somehow affected by another program on my main PC seems to be the only possibility.

*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
Unfortunately setting the in-game config to the lowest option doesn't affect the sensitivity of things like the gummi camera and shotlock Also back when I still had DS4W that didn't work either, as somehow KH3's built-in DS4 detection bypassed it and overrode it

For context this is what the issue looks like to me The video butchered the framerate but it should still be clear

I might also try installing KH3 on my laptop and seeing if I have the same issue there, but itll take awhile Even with decent internet EGS downloads suck

What I think that means is that KH3 has its own DS4 support it runs natively that overrides any other DS4-related controller support on my PC. This even happened when i did use DS4Windows. So I tested it and no dice Even with Steam's controller settings completely disabled and Steam closed, the sensitivity issue persists. I'd like to think its an issue with KH3 itself but I haven't found a single person online who has reported this issue I don't know if absolutely NO ONE has tried playing KH3 with a DS4 on PC Or if it is an issue specific to my system somehow Part of me wonders if it's my controller, but I've tested it with multiple programs and it works fine with everything except KH3 How is that even possible hmmm I'm gonna take a look in there for a sec

*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
I've asked this here awhile ago but we couldn't find a solution, so I'll try again in case someone would know now: I've had an issue with KH3's PC port where if I use a Dualshock 4, the default thumbstick sensitivity is way too high. Does anyone know what causes this or a way to fix it? For context, this issue ONLY happens with a DS4. When testing an Xbox controller it's perfectly fine. I am also not using any 3rd party software for the controller, I'm even using the official DS4 bluetooth dongle Yeah, and its not just the right one, but both. Like even if you turn the sensitivity all the way down to 1 in the game settings, things like the shotlock and gummi camera are still super sensitive since the in-game sensitivity slider doesn't affect those. KH3 seems to have a system that autodetects if you're using a DS4 because it automatically remaps the controls to match the PS4 version, like mapping the gummi camera to the touchpad I'm not using DS4Windows I got rid of DS4W awhile ago since Steam now fully supports DS4 No, tho I don't have many games on EGS to test it with, but I did try it with 1.5+2.5. When using the Epic Games Launcher, 1.5+2.5 doesn't support DS4, yet KH3 does. HOWEVER, for some reason if I launch 1.5+2.5 through GOG, then DS4 support DOES work, and it works perfectly fine. No sensitivity issues. What's also weird is that when I launch KH3, it overrides Steam's controller settings Like for example, I have my DS4 paired to my PC and set up with Steam's controller settings. When I launch KH3, the light on my controller switches from the light blue I have it set up as in my Steam settings, with the default normal blue of a DS4.

Especially since most of the button prompts are designed around playstation buttons, like how interactable objects are labelled with a green triangle even if youre not on playstation Honestly playing Kingdom Hearts with an Xbox controller just feels wrong lol Especially since most of the button prompts are designed around playstation buttons, like how interactable objects are labelled with a green triangle even if youre not on playstation

It's not the end of the world if I need to put up with using an xbox controller or dealing with a hypersensitive shotlock, I was just baffled how i cant seem to find any other instance of the issue online

*Spoilers* KH3 Chat
So I've had DS4W for awhile, and it disguises a DS4 as an Xbox 360 controller... but this all started when one day KH3 suddenly didnt respond to DS4W. It disabled it while playing and detected it as a DS4
