i would consider Darkness to be more of a singularity, if that makes sense? like... Darkness is the thing that needs to be split into 13 fragments. but idk. Darkness is odd and i love it and would like to know More i feel vanitas is still the only "pure" darkness that exists, beyond maybe ansem SoD

part of me thinks he's simply referring to the warriors of light? "seven crowns for the seven hearts" makes me think that whoever or whatever the crowns are, they exist to protect the princesses of heart, which was the whole reason the warriors of light assembled to fight at all slightly unrelated, but you'd think that if there were a natural 7 princesses of heart, there should be a natural 13 pure darknesses too.. i dont think the organization really counts since they were technically all xehanort :LOL:

yeah like the crowns have no real heavy connection to like.. anything right now sdfsfd, hopefully we'll learn a bit more over the finale. i think MoM was referring to the pods in that line, because we know that not all the union leaders will get to use them, since maleficent and the true dandelion have already taken 2 of the 7.

the crowns are such a vague thing i find it hard to definitively theorize anyone at this point, but the whole thing kinda just makes me think about skuld or just the skuls-sora vague parallels

tbh im just not a fan of it bc i've yet to see any evidence of it that's based on the existing lore, most i've seen is just "yo wouldn't it be cool if the MoM was just time traveling adult sora who lost all his friends," its similar to "ooo demyx is MoM bc their personalities are similar" or all the "x foreteller is y preexisting character because of similar color palettes" for me

i like this one more than sora MoM but also.. the idea of making kairi the true dandelion when there's been no indication whatsoever that she exists in that time period is one of the worst twist tropes Ever like at least they actually Showed us that ventus existed in union cross long before the re:mind stuff with vanitas and darkness lmaoo

i find it kind of odd that japan would get 2 and a half weeks extra time but global wouldn't. the implication there is that they could finish everything before may 30th, but opted to give japan extra time. at first, the month difference could be chalked up to global being a month behind, but now that we're caught up, that extra time seemed odd. i get the overall closing date being pushed back, both for deadlines and japan's playability sake, but with all events seeming to end for global by the 30th, it seems odd that there would be an extra two weeks of time that only japan gets, when previously, they had a month less than us.

demon tide is apparently level 90 this week instead of level 87 like it was last time :cri: i find it wild that the tower enemy levels were raised despite the player level cap still being at 60

yeah, but i believe in september, they'going to be adding a theater mode to DR as well, so everyone can watch the full story back. not sure if that will be playable, though; i think that the only thing that will be playable in the offline version is world battle, which might (?) be updated to include all enemy types so people can fill out their albums

ye the companies are fine overall, the game was gonna come to an end either way. i just hope the people working on the game directly aren’t being overworked or anything

true, but it feels a bit less hands on in terms of direct disney involvement compared to the console games. most disney worlds in the game are just reiterations of the movies or the stories we see in other kh games, and even though wreck it ralph is ten times more intertwined with the direct kh lore, it's still a retelling of the film basically. i'm not sure how much of disney's involvement impacts how the game profits.

and i believe the stopped being able to make money at all at the same time they made the initial shutdown announcement, when they also stopped letting people purchase jewel boxes, vip, extra training slots, etc but yeah, i don't blame them at all for needing more time. it actually annoys me to see so many people being upset about the delay because they clearly aren't doing it for anything besides making sure that they can adequately deliver the final product.

with the plot that we do have from that game, it makes me wonder why its creation was ever a thing and also why is That the one thats being kept playable offline

there might be a few more now, but back around the time dark road initially came out, nomura mentioned in a notice that there were only two animators left on the team. i'll see if i can find it. yeah, late in june of 2020, the animation team had been reduced and apparently only two were left. this probably implies the game was losing money long before the shutdown date came into consideration. apart from any boost in activity or money that happened as a result of the khmom kairi A medal, the game has only been on an activity decline since then, so if they have any more than those two animators, i'll be surprsied.

yeah, plus they were allocating resources to dark road as well that probably had to be pulled to shift all the focus onto the ux finale. yall remember how the last update of dark road went back to super simple cutscenes with the large sprites? if that was how union cross delivered the final chapter of its story it would be Awful. there's only like 2 ppl working on the team and they're trying their best, so it makes sense that All of the focus is on the finale instead of dark road or events, especially because money can no longer be made from the game.

honestly, even though there's been no update from the NA account nor any notice on the global version of the game, i personally think that global will probably be ending mid-june as well. mainly because both global and japan are caught up to each other, so there's no real reason for that month long delay between global and japan besides the potential of may being a bit of wiggle room for the animators. since japan's ending got pushed even further than global's initial shutdown date, i don't get why global would be sticking around for any longer than the mid-june date, especially because there is no benefit to keeping global online any longer.

global khux rarely tweets about scheduling things i think? beyond the tweets about the initial end of service announcement, they mostly just post about whatever events are going on, but there's been no new events since the closure announcement. same for the dakr road account i think. if we get any updates, it'll probably an in-app notice
