and kh2 started development after kh1 and was being made alongside CoM, it's valid if it doesn't look the best on flatscreens cause not everyone could afford them, and stuff like super cool hd wasn't as big a thing for most people

Kingdom Hearts 4 Chat
thats valid KH2's disney worlds aren't that riveting Port Royal (and like most of the other ones) would benefit from combining both visits into one Rather than making you do basically the same events twice Like imagine if Port Royal was Luxord manipulating Barbossa, and the Grim Reaper was his heartless

Anywhere else and the series has Darkness as this corrupting negative force that is even referenced in regards to the Seven Deadly Sins, and Light as something that inspires growth and goodness. While someone can use either for whatever purpose they please, that's an individual decision to do so. But we've seen throughout the series that Light and Darkness are Good and Evil in a cosmic sort of way ye exactly Terra was trying to protect his friends, but him having allowed darkness into his heart, and his strong feelings brought it out more, which allowed Xehanort to steal his body. While he was doing a good act, his darkness had that negative effect on him

I don't think Riku and Eraqus can be used as good metrics for it Eraqus in BBS directly acknowledges that in his dogmatic pursuit of light, he allowed himself to be ruled by darkness instead He was championing light but let darkness into his heart Which is directly Xehanort's philosophy Riku is also noted to be immune to the bad things darkness does to someone Which is different than darkness being good Anyone else using it would risk corruption, his heart is just steeled to it In both cases it's the individual who is exemplifying positive and negative qualities. Rather than Light and Darkness being evil and good respectively

The world was noted to exist bathed in light, it was the introduction of darkness in general that began muddying everything. As people became corrupted by it When people began to covet Kingdom Hearts, and Darkness as an entity existed, it continued to expand and infect It's existence is noted, even by itself to be that way. It spreads, infects and consumes innately. And darkness leads to more darkness. It's a spiral of consequences as seen with Terra and Riku. And Riku is noteworthy because he's immune to its naturally corruptive and corrosive effects. Whereas Terra was trying to be good, trying to protect his friends, but darkness had taken root and it almost cost him his existence because Xehanort took advantage of it It's existence is naturally bad for everyone but itself On the flipside, Light has no bad effects at all. And when things are pure light, or close to it, things are in harmony

Is a trope that exists not in KH KH does a really bad job of trying to showcase any nuance between Light and Darkness One is good, the other is evil There's no attempt to say otherwise Even Eraqus in KH BBS admits it was Darkness clouding his heart Xehanort in the Re:Mind flashback believes that people are ruled by Darkness masquerading as a false light. Attempting to champion good but are in actuality evil Darkness is a naturally corruptive force that consumes, infects and destroys. The Realm of Darkness is effectively super hell The manifestations of true Darkness are formless scheming child murderers. The manifestations of pure Light are dormant inside of pure princesses who are paragons of goodness And worlds seem to be doing just fine and dandy until Darkness is introduced and things go badly

It's like the best command deck game :kokopeek: It's just kinda neat, series doesn't suffer for it's existence. And what it does with Data-Sora and the CO segment at the end is super neato

It was originally an episodic mobile game literally to just fill in the gap between mainline games. And to experiment with mobile gaming while it was in its infancy. They remade it for DS so it wasn't completely lost to the void It's just a bridge title, it's not meant to be overly important

I kinda feel the Darkness in Ven has went through some weird ass character development It like, seemed content to stay in Ventus even if it could potentially escape via Re:Mind Sora And when it was detatched from Ventus, Ventus nearly died and the resulting Vanitas was unstable suicidal psychopath Whereas I think the Darknesses in the Foretellers will just be trapped in a traditional sense, but the one in Ventus seems fused

In fairness in the absolute grand scheme of things the information that uX and such contained is stuff that will be reiterated on 80% of uX pertains only to uX and it's surrounding games like DR and Missing Link. The stuff that carries through to the wider franchise is stuff that none of the characters are actually that aware of MoM's plan will need to be re-revealed and recontextualised, what Unreality is we will learn about as Sora Spoiler tagging for safety reasons I will forever be in the camp that the mobile game isn't that* important to the franchise, *especially from a newcomer perspective. Even KH3's references to it were mainly only to Back Cover, the most accessible part of the uX Family of titles While it's helpful for the likes of context and stuff, that's from a meta-perspective. The characters in-universe still need to learn this information, and that's how it will be told to the audience (in a more interesting format)

which is like pushing things imho so there's only two Sora Sora's and there's two Riku Riku's, three if you count Jiminy's Journal as a Riku Riku, Repliku (Dark-Riku is also just Repliku again so he doesn't count as seperate), Jiminy's Journal
-
KH General Chat
it also depends on if you even count the Limit Cut Data-Sora as it's own entity
-
KH General Chat
do you count jiminy's journal as a riku otherwise it's just like two
-
KH General Chat
there's only like three Sora Soras Sora Data-Sora Data-Sora 2 then it depends do you could xion and roxas as being Sora's (if you do thats mean to their individual character arcs smh)
