Yeah, I'm remaining hopeful

I get that this is a totally different scenario, all I'm thinking is I hope that the desire to have it release in the 25th year hasn't negatively impacted the quality of the finished product

I know, I'm just reminded of companies like Sega who always had a bad habit of rushing Sonic games out on the anniversary years

Just hope that doesn't mean that they're rushing it out, as absurd as that sounds

It releasing in the 25th anniversary does seem like a no-brainer from a marketing perspective

Square probably had their plans in place for a while but the Sony announcement has likely really focussed their targets

that's the cutoff for disc production

The game could release in January 2028 at the latest I think

Maybe it's the prospect of it being its own original thing?

I don't know why but I'm way more on board with this anime announcement than I ever was with the idea of the old cancelled animated series.

Seems like Sony is heading for the model that Microsoft originally attempted when they revealed the Xbox One - all possible media accessed through a subscription, and I really have reservations about continuing to support them

It'll most likely have the same stats as the other console exclusive keyblades, hardly worth the price.

As it stands, I feel that the collection is just a cynical cash grab, and I will not be supporting

They seriously need to have some kind of package that presents the story elements from the mobile games, beyond eating into dev time I don't get why there hasn't been anything for that

I would be more interested if the collection actually had something new to offer.

Dunno if that's likely to happen, given that FF7 releases next year, what are the odds on them releasing both so close by

Really gotta hope for a 2027 release so I can get the disc

I don't think it's likely that they'll change direction but I sure as hell won't sit quietly while they screw me over

They've already started to repurpose the factory that they use for printing their discs for PS5

The industry is so screwed

I'd be really interested to see what Square would do with another turn-based installation in the series

No doubt that we're living in the worst timeline now
