This arc has officially squandered any potential for actual character development for Sanji with this utterance of touchy-feely goody goody horseshit that paints him as a perfect angel and ignores literally every character flaw he has presented in the actual series thus far. I don't have a problem with him being the "good kid" of the Vinsmoke family as a concept, but in relation to his actual development... yeah.

 

I don't have much to say about the chapter in general after that. Jinbe broke out Luffy and Nami, as expected. Luffy goes beserk, as expected. Reiju is a good-ish guy now, as expected. Blah blah blah, hold off for one week for a big next installment or whatever. That whole Sanji business just really rubbed me the wrong way, and honestly, now I just want this arc to end. Get all the bells and whistles out, Germa & Straw Hats vs. Big Mom, and finally stick it to both Big Mom and that bitch, Pudding.

I read about some predictions for what Tamago's Egg-Egg Fruit would do, and a lot of them were pretty much right on the money... excluding the chicken part that is and honestly... lame.

 

That's all I can really say to be honest, not much else of interest happened this week. More Raftel/Ponyglyph exposition, Brook is still with Big Mom (although not fighting her), Pedro almost offed himself but is now screwing around with Chopper and Carrot in the Mirror World, Luffy is still on a rampage... I mean, we still have the whole wedding thing to get to and we're still kinda wading through the same old shit. I'm honestly still waiting for the end to just come already because again, it's not like this whole Sanji focused narrative is going to amount to anything for him.

Well, I don't mind the egg yolk thing, that's pretty dope. It's just the whole "chicken form" thing that's added onto it... I dunno, it just feels out-of-place, even for a One Piece power. Tamago's already got the old-school 1900s gentlemen design plus the Long Leg tribe genes, he doesn't need more quirks, you know. It feels like overcompensation.

I LOVED it!! The whole chapter was filled with the typical One Piece comedy The whole part with getting Brook by using that "fake Brook" was just too good.

And that Brook really managed to copy the poneglyps... have to say he's my favorite character of this arc. Which is amazing cause Brook needed an arc where he could shine. But the whole group of Nami, Brook, Chopper, Carrot and so on amazes me.

The ending was nice, I expect some emotional reunion next week

Nah not even Bleach or Naruto made me laugh for real. I got a slight chuckle out of One Piece from time to time though.

 

 

 

Honestly, the threat level here is non existent. I can't take food monsters seriously I'm sorry. Pedro vs Tamago (was it Tamago?) was great though

Still sucks that the guy who joined last in the crew is getting more rub than the fourth guy to officially join and who just happens to be the "focus" of this arc, but whatever...

I already said I gave up and I stand by that. Reiju's stupid Barney the Dinosaur speech pretty much confirms it for me.

 

So unless the narrative decides to pull an entire 180 on us, I'll stick to just not expecting it to happen.

Bobbin got shot. The probably most interesting part of this chapter. I assume it was Capone, but I have no idea for what reason. Really curious to see what happens next there.

The reunion was nice to see, especially the punch in Sanji's face. The whole scene reminded me of Nami's and Robin's cries for help Looks like the arc will go on for a while now, hopefully for the better.

Also, poor escort ladies. Those mutated freak Germas probably drink their own weight times a thousand in alchohol. They probably had no idea they were being dragged into that pit of Hell.

Part with Sanji was meh, more interesting was the rest. Bege wants to kill Big Mom, I knew it. He was also behind the attack on Boobin.

Like Jinbei said, teaming up with him to take down Big Mom (or in Luffy's case simply crash the Tea Party and save the Vinsmokes) would absolutely make sense.

Honestly not sure what will happen. On one hand Luffy has a reason to hate Bege, cause he tried to kill Pekoms, and Luffy usually doesn't team up with the bad guys. But on the other hand he already did that once with Crocodile, to save Ace. So both can happen

Anyway nice to finally see more of Bege. He's kinda interesting.

JOY BOY ALMOST HAD IT!

 

That part with Bege gets me SO HYPE! Jinbei knows all with his 1 million connections. Anyway, Luffy and Capone are teaming up to beat Big Mom now? Sweet! This definitely points towards Luffy teaming up with Kidd to beat Kaido in the future. Now we can finally get into the meat hopefully in the next 3-4 weeks!

Sanji going back to the gag where he emphasizes the importance of Nami (and Robin if she were here too) over literally everybody else in the crew? GEE. I. WONDER. HOW. THAT. COULD HAVE. BEEN. FI--okay, I'm not going to harp on about that anymore... hopefully.

 

So now Capone Bege is trying to off Big Mom at this wedding now... you know, bad pirates shouldn't really make alliances in the first place since they all turn out to be meaningless. That aside: this presents an new interesting element into the whole wedding operation. That aside: I still really want us to get to the end already because despite all noteworthy points, I really just want to move on from this.

Capone has got to betray Luffy in the end, he's in it for himself. We're going to see Vinsmokes, Straw Hats and Capone's crew vs the Big Mom pirates+any of her 'guests'!. I think these guests may surprise us and we could end up seeing Crocodile or any of the Shicibukai. I think Luffy will ally with the Vinsmokes to take down Kaido in the end, them and a few of the 'guests' may sail into Wano with the Straw Hats.

Gotta say this arc gets more and more interesting now that Bege is involved. I'm really curious to see what his plan is. I already thought that this guy was Caesar, I'm kinda surprised that Luffy realized that too

The part with the milk was... funny Made absolutely no sense but at least Luffy got his tooth back.
