I always feel like the Xehanort we see in KH2 that enters Ansem the Wise Study as he is talking to Mickey was never suppose to be a possessed Terra by an old Master Xehanort in the the past. I read in an interview on here that when they did the secret ending at the end of KH2 he said thay he didn't draw those characters in the armor yet or even name them, even that Xehanort in that video looked blurry cause he didn't have a concept design yet. 

I feel like Nomura just had to create someone out of the blue with Brown Hair (Terra) to correlate with that Xehanort we see in KH2. He had to make the trio suffer and obviously they wouldn't even win because it had to correlate with that scene and backstory they made up. And even when Mickey saw Xehanort come into the room he didn't even seem at all concerned or even a seemed suspicious of the name Xehanort, his face had no emotion which just shows at the time of writing that scene that Xehanort was just a plain ordinary scientist who experimented with hearts ,turned evil  and then later turned into Ansem and Xenmas.

 

Some people wonder why didn't Terra move out of the way when Xehanort was transferring his heart to him or even try to get his body back, its simple cause the plot will not allow it. And some people also wonder "why didn't Eraqus just stop and explain everything to TVA", well the plot would not allow it cause if he did most things in story would not have even happened.

Just like when Lea met Ventus in BBS and people wonder "why didn't Axel remember Ventus or realize Roxas looks like him when he has memories from his past and even made friends with Ventus" and people will say "would you remember someone you met 10 years ago" . I feel like him meeting Ventus in BBS was just written at the last minute. Like what's the point of putting that scene in BBS if he's not even gonna remember him or see similar appearance in Roxas. It's only relevant in KH3 i guess.

 

Even with Roxas, I feel like he was suppose to look like he always did without anything to do with Ventus. I think Nomura afterwards was like "oh shit, Nobodies are suppose to sorta look like their somebodies" . Since Ventus wasn't drawn yet at the end of the KH2 secret movie, he just made Ventus look like Roxas and did the Sora heart connection to sorta explain my Roxas doesn't look exactly like Sora.

 

I'm usually looking too much into those things and it bothers me at times cause i am the type of fan that took stuff at face value and after reading on other forums and look deeper and you see so many inconsistent things and it bothers me that as a fan i never noticed before.

 

Sometimes everything feels just weird and disjointed and contrived.

That's what happens when you write as you go. Hell, we weren't even supposed to get a Kingdom Hearts II, much less an entire series, and KH2 was set up to be a natural stopping point if you ignored or didn't get the secret endings. 

But when people ask "why didn't this character do that" or "why did that character do this" they're usually fully aware of the design/writing perspective, what they want is a personal, story perspective, a look into the character's thought process.

Well, that's the thing! When all types of beings create something, they go about it two ways! They either plan it out carefully, or just run straightforward into the unknown as they go!  In terms of the Kingdom Hearts series, that human Nomura has definitely concocted up something intriguing! Even though some threads are confusing or nonsensical, that's the beauty of it! Heh, and just wait till he adds me sometime in the future! I'll really mess things up!
