Kingdom Hearts Union X crashing on startup

After the first 2 splash screens the game closes, was working just fine last night, anyone have any ideas as to why?

Phone is the Samsung Galaxy S7 also tried it with the android emulator Nox and its doing the same there

I don't know why Union Cross crashed on your phone, but the reason it crashed on the emulator is because you can't play it on an emulator.

its seems to open fine on my old OnePlus one, could it be linked to the android version?

Hmm I have an Android Samsung S7 and it works fine, as you said this was a recent thing and it was working prior have you tried restarting your phone and making sure the app is closed completely? Also has your phone or game recently had any updates? You may need to reinstall the game as it too could be it didn't completely download part of the game data which is causing it to crash. Did you do anything different than you did last night?

restarted my phone numerous times, restarted the internet, no updates to my phone and wasnt any updates for the game, between now and last time i may have charged my phone but that was about it, last night i was able to close the game and open it just fine over the time, just wont start today, no idea why and if i reinstall the game will i lose all of my current progress? havent had the chance to connect my facebook account to it yet

Do that, connect your account to your Facebook. Then, delete the application. You can download the application through the Google Play Store and restore your data from your Facebook account.

If your account is connected to Facebook, that doesn't matter. You can retrieve it by connecting through Facebook.

i cannot connect the account thats on my S7 since i hadnt done it before it started crashing, so if i were to connect my facebook to my OnePlus One my account would be lost

before doing that i suppose i better test to see if the issue will happen on my OPO first

What worked for me so far is downloading the newest update again without reinstalling the entire app. If you can't do it via the app store, there's always apkpure where you can download the newest one again without much of a risk. Unfortunately, there's not much else you can do since the general advice from support is always to reinstall the game. Without a backup, that's not a good option, that's why installing the update may be the only chance if it doesn't fix itself.

Have you tried clearing the cache too?

cleared the cache didnt work, deleted the data and it loads up again before downloading the rest after the tutorial, still waiting to hear back from my 2 messages to square enix about this

 

 

so far my OPO is working fine, loading fine even after numerous closes, downloading the main part of the game again now on my S7

 

 

the game just wont work on my S7, started again to see if redownloading everything would fix it and after 1 day its back to crashing upon startup

 

 

finally square enix has replied to my email so lets see how that goes

here what square told me, yet to try it out cause phone is currently flat

 

Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Google Play Store app and the Download manager. Here's how:

 

Visit Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications

Tab over to "All"

Select the Google Play Store app, and then tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache;" then, select Download manager and tap "Clear data" and "Clear cache"

 

You must be able to successfully sign into Google Talk to download Android apps on Google Play. Make sure your device is signed into Google Talk by following these steps:

 

Go to your phone's app launcher, and press the Talk or Hangouts app.

If you're already signed into Talk or Hangouts, press Menu, and then touch Sign out.

Launch the app again to sign in.

Cheers, I've just done that. Won't be till tomorrow till I know if it's worked coz I've already reinstalled it today so it should work until the morning now. It's good to know it's not just me that's having this problem tbh coz after I told square that their advice hadn't worked they basically told me there was nothing more they could suggest and to contact Samsung but if more people are having this problem maybe they might fix it.

starting to think its to do with automated backups, got mine turned off at the moment and reinstalled the game so gonna wait to see if it happens tomorrow

after a few updates it stopped working, no idea now :/

You have to switch the app from internal storage to external storage. It's the app settings on your phone.
