"Oni" stated Jinn, malice coating his voice "Look around at the class. Something isn't right with this." Jinn slowly rolled up his sleeve on his right arm, revealing celtic runes....that were glowing green and purple. "This isn't good."

Oni looked around for a moment, feeling slightly hopeless that she couldn't see what he was seeing. "What exactly am I looking for...?" she mumbled. After a moment, her arrogance returned as she continued, "I've said this once, and I'll say it again. I prefer not expecting every tiny detail to be out of the ordinary." Despite this, her intuition rised, making her nervous.

Jinn growled, his hair spiking, his eyes glowing. "Are you really that stupid? Didn't you get anything from your mom besides her looks? Look around." He slowly roved his eyes across the class, his teeth getting sharp. "There are too many people here. More than half of this class died yesterday. So why do we have a full class?"

Oni froze. Sha hardly paid attention to her surroundings the previous day, yet it was wise to take the word of someone else who was there. Besides, after a day like that, at least a decent amount of the class should be missing.

It was no longer safe at school.

".... Do you have the answer, Miss Kurosawa?" the teacher asked her. The hair on Oni's neck rised. The substitute teacher called her name without the assistance of an attendance list.

"Jinn," Oni breathed, feeling trinkles of sweat roll down her skin, "get me out of here..."

Suddenly a scream ripped the air. Over half the class started howling in pain as the skin was ripped from there bodies, revealing the horrible demon form underneath. The teacher raised his arms in defense, but even his skin was torn off to reveal a horrible winged creature with a skull head and skeleton armored body. The students who were unaffected by the scream ran screaming into the woods. But the demons weren't after them. They gathered around Jinn, his wings grown to full size now. "Quickly, Oni, get on my back now!" He took a fistfull of feathers and threw them into the air. Next second they were sharp blades raining down onto the demons. The demon who was the sub was screaming in a loud screech. "Kill him! Kill the fallen angel! Don't let the half breed escape!"

Without hesitation, Oni stood up and ran over to Jinn. It was rather hard to get onto his back, at first, granted that the wings were in the way. In good enough time, Oni was able to position herself correctly, successfully getting onto his back. Why must anything and everything go against my wishes? she thought.

Jinn jumped, his wings beating furiously to get away, but a few demons grabbed his legs and held him down. "GODDAMMIT. Oni, see the spike choker around my neck?" He flipped his hair, reavealing the choker. "I want you to pull one spike out all the way." THe demons started to pull him down as the sub walked slowly towards the fray, starting to laugh evily. "Quickly! DO it now!"

(( Golly, I have to turn one simple action into a paragraph. :'D ))

Oni was stiffened at first. The demons tugging on Jinn's legs only made her hold on tightly for her dear life. She stopped herself. These pointless debates in her mind were never helping her in these situations. She had to remain calm and focused. Holding her wrist with one hand, Oni yanked at a spike with the other.

A beautiful voice started singing. All other sounds just stopped as this melodic voice rang out. A second set of wings grew from Jinn's back, pure black and radiating a holy energy, as oppose to the heat from the first set. The demons screeched as they began to burn and turn to dust. The sub roared and backed off, a look of pure malice crossing his face. Jinn flew out of the area and into the sky, the voice starting to die down as they got farther and farther away from the demons.

Oni became slightly surprised by the new pair of wings from Jinn's back. Of course she would be, since she was trying to hang out withoyt disrupting the wings. When a bird had a splinter in its wing, it makes it difficult for it to fly. She honestly felt dangerously close to a splinter. "Are you sure that this is safe?" she asked, even though it came out as a mumble since, due to hanging on for her life, her face was buried into his shoulder.

"Don't worry, Oni. It's perfectly safe so long as you don't let go. I've been doing this for over 200 Quadrillion Decellions." (Just a little over 2 million trillion years (yes you need to add those zeros).) Jinn flies over to Oni's house, this time landing in the front yard. "This choker I wear only limits my power. And even with that, I am still quite powerful."

Upon reaching her yard, it took Oni a moment to be able to stand straight on the lawn. "I'm sure that you do," Oni said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice, "especially since I had to lend help." Turning towards the house, she continued, "So, I'm guessing that I can't go to school no more--"

Suddenly, Oni's head began to ring. She stared with wide eyes at her porch. It wasn't the lightly open door that caught her off-guard, but it was the sudden intense smell that came out. "Blood...?" she mouthed.

Jinn grabbed her arm and rushed in, his hands turning into claws as he rushed inside the door, dragging Oni along, stopping at the steps where a small trail of blood was dripping down the steps. "Dammit." He mouthed, materializing a blade.

Despite how queezy it made her, Oni stared down at the blood with wide eyes. She followed the trail with her eyes until a wall blocked her view. Suddenly, unbeknownst of what came over her, Oni set aside her hesitance as she slowly approached the stairs. "Mom...?" she called, but her voice cracked, so it came out as a whisper.

Jinn rushed up, a trail of feathers behind him. He rushed into the room and there was a pause before he was back out. "It's demon blood. I don't smell your mother. She seems to be hiding or may have left." Walks to Oni

Oni became relieved, yet worried. "W-We have to find her," she proclaimed before turning to the closest room. Despite wondering why there was demon blood in her house, she set all of those questions aside so she could search for her mother. However, the longer that it took her to look, the more panicky she became. This became obvious by the time her voice became frantic, calling for her.

Jinn stood there, trying to get oni's attention. "Hey Oni." He started to yell, but she didn't hear her. Finally, frustrated to no end, he took a glass and smashed it, finally getting Oni's attention.

The sudden sound had made Oni jump as she snapped out of it. She looked down, realizing that she was about to head down the steps. She couldn't recall it, nor any of the other rooms upstairs that she searched. She looked up at Jinn, not finding any words to say for a moment. Finally, her stomachache got to her. Sitting on the step, she mumbled, "We have to find her..."

Jinn pointed to a square in the attic, a little chain hanging down from it. "I believe all you had to do was calm down and look." He grabbed the chain and pulled and a set of stairs fell down. "Ladies first." He said, motioning for Oni to climb.

Clutching her stomach, Oni used the railing as support to stand up. She walked over to where Jinn was at. She threw him a quick glare before looking up at the attic. She couldn't remember the last time that she was in the attic. She was probably seven or eight at the time. Still holding her stomach with one hand, she began to climb up the steps.

Jinn follows her up, keeping his sword materialized and his wings shrank back into his body. He kept close to Oni, knowing how prone she was to freaking out and not being able to fight yet.

Upon reaching the top step, Oni could not see a thing but darkness. There was a window on the far back wall, but it was boarded up, so it was hardly fit to live up to its name. "It smells in here too...." she murmured, referring to the smell of blood. To see anything, not that she wanted to, she would have to search for the light bulb hanging from the ceiling. She slowly ventured forward, raising her feet barely two inches off of the ground. She raised her hand, searching for the string that was attached to the light bulb. "You should see well in the dark, right?" she asked. "Find the light."

Jinn said nothing. He just walked slowly towards a corner of the room. He knelt down, said some words, then stood back up slowly. Then he walked over to the center of the room, and pulled on the cord for the light.

When the light came on, Oni squinted her eyes for a second. She looked down at the ground. Sure enough, there was a trail of blood on the floor. The trail led to a wide stack of boxes. Behind the tower of storage, a pool of blood was visible. "Great..." she muttered. "Jinn, can you go check?" Taking a step back, a paper crunched underneath her foot. She looked down at it. The paper looked fairly new, despite the blood stains on it. Picking it up, she spotted words on it.

Oni,

When you were born, you were the most beautiful thing that I had ever laid eyes on. You were my one precious treasure, I couldn't afford to let anyone hurt you. For sixteen years, (blood at this point made it unreadable) safe.

I'm afraid that I have failed though. They know you're (more blood)

I don't think I can keep you safe anymore.

Please, no matter what, run.

Love

The writing trailed off, as though the writing was interrupted. However, she didn't need a name to know that it was her mother that had wrote the letter recently.

Jinn helped Oni back down the steps as he shut off the light. He then laid down a few feathers and spoke a single word. The attic shown with light. Then the blood and whatever was behind the boxes was gone.
