FIRST OFF!!

"It will be a little while more. Just 2 more hours." Jinn started to speed up, getting as far away from the island as possible.

Sighing, Oni said, "Fine then..." Still keeping her eyes closed, she continued to hang on, waiting until they had arrived there.

About 2 hours later Jinn touched ground. "We are here" he told a drowzy oni as he genly jostled her awake off his back. They had landed on a black shore, the trees were willows, weeping willows, and the air was thick with despair.

Oni opened her eyes, yet her vision still took time to adjust. After a moment, it had come to her realization that she had fallen asleep. She instantly looked down at her hand. To her relief, the picture had been tucked in the safety of her palm. She looked around, taking in the atmosphere and scenery. "... Not exactly the most fitting place," she remarked.

Jinn laughed. "Of course, being from the city most of your life, you would think that. This land is enough for us. We only take what we need and give back what we take away." Jinn folded in his wings, groaning in pain as they shrunk into his body.

Looking around once more, light humor came to Oni. "No wonder all of the creatures I've seen so far are pale," she stated, eying Jinn. She looked down at the black sand before coming quite bored again. Finding nothing to do, she began kicking the sand around. However, she easily lost interest. "Now what?" she asked.

Jinn walked to the willows and took out a blade. He then slashed it along his arm, letting the blood flow down onto the roots of the willow. The willows shivered, the blood being soaked up into the gorund, then they began to move apart, showing a path in the thick brush. "We go home." He casually said, his cut healing up almost instantly.

Oni walked up to it. She stared at the path for a moment. "What? Are we supposed to go find the White Rabbit or something?" she asked. Despite being arrogant, she went ahead and entered the path.

"Something like that." Said Jinn, walking in after her. He had a tone of smugness in his voice as he began looking around at the trees, closing his eyes, walking a path he obviously had walked many times.

As she continued walking, Oni felt rather redundant. Walking down a long, dirt path, hidden on an abandoned, deceased land, didn't exactly enthuse her. "So, where is the rabbit hole that we're supposed to fall in?" she asked. Despite her sarcasm remark, she kept her eye out for any ditches.

Suddenly, without warning, Jinn came right up behind Oni. "Right...HERE!" he shouted as he pushed Oni off to the side down a tunnel that was on the edge of the road, hidden by a few branches and vines.

Since the event was so unexpected, Oni was unable to catch her breath. She began rolling down the tunnel, for it was quite steep at first. Finally, as the path flattened out to a horizontal, she came to a stop. As she sat up, the first thing that she noticed was the mess of hair on her head. As she began to straighten it out with her fingers, she noticed the very light cut on her elbow. Finally, as she stood up, she called angrily, "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Jinn appeared next to her in a swirl of feathers, along with a man who's face was completely hidden, except for his right eye. "Jester, this is the girl I told you about." he told the man. The man named Jester was instantly walking around Oni, his right eye going this way and that, as if to catalouge her entire existence.

Even though she wanted to say "Hello, jackass, you just pushed me down a hill!", Oni kept silent. She kept her eyes on the man named Jester as he studied her. However, the longer that he took, the more impatient that she became.

Jester returned to Jinn's side, whispered something, then dissapeared in a flurry of red petals. "Flashy little dickweed." Jinn said, eying the petals with disgust. "Sorry bout that." Jinn said, ducking to dodge the punch Oni aimed at his face. "But Jester insisted that he see you before the king did. And he carries a little more weight around here than I do, so I had to ablige." He handed Oni a salve. "Here, use this on your cut before we go any further in. We don't want to excite the Vampyrics, now do we?"

Glaring at him, Oni went ahead and took care of her light cut.

Suddenly, a girl approached them from the depths of the tunnel. "Hello, Jinn! I haven't seen you in forever! I hope that you still remember me, Alli, your best friend." Suddenly, she stopped, looking at Oni. "... Who's this fresh meat?"

Jinn rolled his eyes. "Hello, Alli. Nice to see you too." He walked over to Oni.

"This is Oni. She is gonna be staying here for a while. She is off limits. Too everyone. That includes you."

"Aww, come on!" Alli whined. "I'm nice!" She held her hand out, which was coated with a glove. "Hello, Oni. I'm Alli. I'm a banshee. What are you?" She sniffed for a moment. "You smell human." She glanced up at Jinn for a second, having a serious look on her face.

"Apparently, I'm part demon or something," Oni mumbled bluntly.

Alli became surprised. "Whoa! Really?! I heard of you from Jester!"

Jinn nodded. "The little twit works fast, for a rose corpse demon." Jinn started to walk to the north end of the hallway. He turned around and looked at Oni. "Well? You coming or what?"

Oni really didn't want to go with Jinn anymore, after he pushed her, but she didn't have anything else important to do, so she had no choice.

As she began walking, Alli tailed them. "So, how is the outside world?" she asked. "I haven't been out there in forever. Go out there to warn someone's death would cause my own, you know? Haha!"

Oni glared at her before finally deciding to block her voice out.
