Sora, Donald and Goofy head back to the Second District, only to find that neither Neku nor Joshua or present. Suddenly, they see a Shadow heading toward the Hotel, and Neku jumping out of a window with the other Heartless. The four fight and defeat the attacking Heartless. After so, Sora explains to Neku that they're supposed to go to the Post Office with him to get Shiki back. Neku reluctantly complies, just as Joshua exits the Hotel. Neku explains the situation to Joshua, who senses that Rhyme and Beat are also at the Post Office, being held hostage by Kariya and Pete. Joshua wishes the four the best of luck, and they all head to the Post Office, battling Heartless and Nightmares along the way. However, Joshua feels a disturbing presence near the Plaza...
Meanwhile, Kariya and Pete discuss the black box further, including the possibility of contains the Book of Prophecies, which holds the power to conjure up entire worlds. They then check in their hostages-Beat, Shiki and Rhyme-who are busy trying to withstand the army of Nightmares. Kariya gloats out to them, claiming that he, Pete and Maleficent will be victorious in the end. Just then, Pete receives word from Maleficent that Sora, Neku, Donald and Goofy are on their way to the Post Office. Kariya, being slightly concerned, decides to send a swarm of Komory Bats to the Fountain Plaza, hoping to stop the four in their tracks. The Komories, while extremely weak (they're all slain with a single blow), they can overwhelm their enemies with ease.
The four, going through the Fountain Plaza, run into the Komory Swarm, who instantly surround them, as well as several Bolt Tower Heartless. Suddenly, Joshua comes in to help, and everyone defeats all the enemies. With them all gone, Neku asks Joshua why he came himself. Joshua explains that he sensed the Swarm's presence headed towards the Plaza. Goofy asks who sent it, and it turns out to be none other than Kariya. With him in mind, the five heroes head straight for the Post Office, fighting the remaining enemies along the way.
