My First Horror Story: Outnumbered

Posted

Tokyo, Japan. May 15, 2021 AD. A rich but parentless 19-year-old boy has freely rented a private room in an near-complete hotel on an isolated island, separated by a gate and a bridge, where guests are treated by blonde-haired kigurumi androids dressed as maids. Said maids, being the ones who built the hotel themselves, are said to give their guest breakfast in bed, spa treatments, etc., and for no charge; although they do not speak, they obey their guests and have an overall friendly disposition. As a preview guest, the boy has personal access to the camera room, where he can overview the hotel at leisure. That day, crossing through the bridge as the gate closes and locks, he checks into his hotel room on the fifth floor-the hallways being decorated with paintings of fish-gets his spa treatment, and goes to bed around 9:07 PM. But little does he know, this seemingly long vacation will actually be short...and it will be his LAST.

The boy wakes in the morning after to see a maid standing right next to him, and staring silently. He politely asks the maid to leave, but she does not respond no matter how many she is asked. The boy then notices ANOTHER maid next to him, and then at least seven more in the room surrounding him. The first maid next to him, for whatever reason, slowly gives the boy a hug. The boy is not worried at first, but then the other maids close and begin to hug his arms and legs as well, and TIGHTLY. Sensing pain, the boy realizes that what the hotel REALLY is one where the maids want to kiss and hug their guests tightly...and NEVER LET GO.

The boy screams in terror, and breaks free from the maids' grasps. He tries to escape the room, only for FIVE MORE maids to grapple him. Surrounded, the boy struggles to break free as the fourteen maids bring him down to his knees. He shakes the maids off and lifts himself back up to his feet, dashing out of the room in fear.

As the boy runs down the hallway, he looks behind himself to see the maids bursting out of their rooms and frantically chasing after him, mindlessly hungry for affection. When he gets into an intersecting room, notices fifteen more maids in a hallway directly in front of him, and another fifteen in a hallway NEXT to him. The boy escapes to a nearby elevator room and presses a button. The holographic glass gate appears and just BARELY barricades the boy in time. The boy, seeking escape, runs to the central elevator, which opens...and then releases twenty more more maids who and grapple him. The six smaller elevators also open, each containing ten maids that run to the boy and latch on to him all over his body.

Being pushed down once again, the boy crawls under the maids, who nearly suffocate him. As he gets up again, with three maids pulling off his blue jacket, he finds and pulls down a smoke dispenser, stunning the maids, and makes his way to the central elevator. As he pushes the lobby button, hoping to get into the camera room from THERE, and frantically pushes the "Close" button, the smoke begins to clear up. Regaining momentum, the nearly over a hundred maids burst through the holographic gate and power walk towards the boy, just as the indestructible elevator door closes swiftly, and

As the elevator speeds down to the beginning notes of Beethoven's "Allegro Ma Non Troppo", the door opens to the lobby. The boy runs out...only to see HUNDREDS OF MAIDS QUICKLY WALKING TOWARDS HIM. He dashes to the camera room, which is on a higher ground, with the maids directly on his tail. Several more maids are on the slopes leading up to the camera room, prompting the boy to jump up on the railings. He finds a wooden plank next to the door and swats the maids away, giving himself time to barricade himself in the camera room. When more maids close in, he throws the plank at them, closes the door, and pulls down an empty bookshelf next to him.

After barricading himself from the maids, who are crazily pushing on the door like animals, the boy switches the camera monitor to footage on the fifth floor, with at least twenty-two running down the stairs. Ignoring that, he rewinds the footage to when he was initially running away, then proceeds to hack into the Tokyo-5 news website. He successfully sends the footage to the website, only for the maids to break down the barricade and painfully grab him. Once again, the boy desperately attempts to break free-his strength wearing thin-but is then thrown down into the sea of them. Outnumbered, the boy is pushed down to the ground one last time, suffocating to death as hundreds of maids pile on top of him.

Ten minutes later, Tokyo-5 receives the footage from the hotel, and overrides it completely, including the maids. News of the incident reaches throughout all of Tokyo, and the military, going to bomb the hotel, find the boy's dead body under a pile of maids, bleeding internally. They get the body out, get off the island, and drop down incinerary bombs, burning it to the ground. A funeral service is held for the boy later that day, and his body is cremated. The next day, Tokyo-5 discovers that the maids were really looking for a way to break out of the hotel and push down the locked gate. They were attempting to hijack the factory that produces kigurumi androids once they've gotten into the city, and mass reproduce themselves, and then spread all over Tokyo, and eventually the world. The incident at the hotel was an averted global crisis- one that came to a bittersweet end due to the boy's efforts.
