Well, I've finally gotten around to going through all the games on Proud Mode. I've finished the main story line of Kingdom Hearts Days and have acquired all the Challenge Sigils. Working on getting all the Mission Crowns as well as synthesizing everything, have everything purchased and synthesized except for a few accessories.

 

At the time of this thread being made, I am just about to fight Cerberus in Kingdom Hearts 1, and I must say that having chosen the shield has been a huge benefit since I have the guard ability. I am however disappointed at the fact that even though some people said that Guard would be enhanced by choosing the shield, it isn't. However, I've gotten better at timing my guard, so it doesn't matter as much. Having the Scan ability early in the game is also a huge benefit as I develop a strategy based on how much Hp they have, if I can see it. I have a feeling that I won't have much trouble with doing this, as I haven't died once in areas that I usually loose, and although it isn't a big factor as to how I play the game, I already have the Fire and Blizzard Arts from the White Mushrooms, as well as a few Mystery Goos.

Tbh I never picked the shield over the sword even when playing proud mode. Sure there were times that I got my ass handed to me, but I think I would have still gotten my ass handed to me even with guard. In all honesty, even if your playing proud you should choose based on your playing style. Me, I'm a very smack you with my keyblade and dodge type of a girl. I have never been the type to sit there and guard unless its one of those few rare bosses where I have to. Maybe that's just me. I'm not a pro at kh, but I have never ever really had a problem beating any kh game on proud. Only kh 1 gave me a run for my money.
