Back when 358/2 Days, Birth by Sleep, and coded had only just been announced, I came up with an idea for my own Kingdom Hearts game. At first, it was a Kingdom Hearts game in name only, as I had basically just made my own game and made Sora, Donald, and Goofy the main characters. Later, I would keep the basic concept of my game idea, but change everything else (I would later use the villains that I originally came up with for the game in a different game idea that I came up with later). The basic concept was this: Sora, Donald, and Goofy get trapped in the Dream World and need to find a way out. Later, Dream Drop Distance would become a thing, and, since both Dream Drop Distance and my game idea were about dreams, I would jokingly say that Square-Enix looked into my mind and stole my idea (even though Dream Drop Distance and my idea were almost nothing alike). I recently remembered my Kingdom Hearts game idea and felt like sharing it.
Here is a summary of my Kingdom Hearts game idea:
Sora had been having the same dream for a while now. In it, he fought a hooded figure. Because of this dream, he had many a restless night. Then one day, King Mickey summoned Sora to Disney Castle, which was being attacked by Heartless, but how? Disney Castle was supposed to be protected. Sora showed up to help defeat the Heartless and even defeated a Heartless which was the so-called "Heartless King". Sora agreed to stay until King Mickey figured out what was going on. That night, Sora, Donald, and Goofy were laying in the courtyard and looking up at the stars. They saw a shooting star, which they eventually realized was heading right for them, but by the time they realized this, it was too late. The shooting star hit the spot where they lay, and when it vanished, they had vanished with it.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy appeared in a strange castle, where they were greeted by the hooded figure who had been fighting Sora in his dreams. The hooded figure revealed himself to be Dream Sora. He had been fighting Sora in order to see if he was up to the task that he was about to assign him. What had just hit them had not been a shooting star, but a spell that was meant to summon Sora to this place (Donald and Goofy just got caught in the spell with Sora), and this place was the Dream World. From the castle that they were currently in, they could access anyone's dreams. However, the Heartless had found a way into the Dream World and were now entering everyone's dreams. If they were not stopped, everyone's dream would be lost to the darkness, which would then consume the actual people dreaming as well. Sora had to enter every dream that the Heartless had managed to enter and lock the dreams. Dream Sora couldn't stop the Heartless because, in order to lock the dreams, a Keyblade from the real world was needed.
And so, Sora, Donald, and Goofy traveled into every dream and, by helping everyone achieve their dreams, caused the dreams' Keyholes to appear and locked them. Once he had locked every dream, however, Dream Sora revealed that he was actually Sora's Heartless. He lived on in Sora's dreams and eventually became a nightmare that haunted him. The real reason that Sora's Heartless had been fighting Sora was to prove that he was strong enough to exist in the real world (which was how the Heartless King invaded Disney Castle because King Mickey's nightmare of the Heartless invading became so powerful that it became real). However, he was never able to defeat Sora in his dreams, and so, he decided to escape the Dream World in another way.
Once a dream was completed, the dream's Keyhole appeared, but what made the Keyhole appear was a memorable object that was important to the person dreaming in one way or another. Because the memorable object was important in the Dream World and in the real world, it served as a link between the two worlds. However, in order to fully form a way out, Sora's Heartless needed seven memorable objects. He had already collected six that Sora had unintentionally helped him get, but the seventh one that he was after was Kairi's good luck charm, which Sora was still carrying. Since it was from the real world, it would be an even better memorable object than any of the ones found in the Dream World (at least, that's what Sora's Heartless thought). Sora tried to stop his Heartless from taking it, but he couldn't, and he successfully created a door to the real world. And so, after a duel with a nightmare version of Riku that Sora's Heartless summoned to distract Sora, Sora unlocked the door and followed Sora's Heartless through the door.
Sora found himself on the edge of the Dream World, where his Heartless revealed that he had tricked him yet again. His Heartless had made it seem as though he had gone through the door, but he hadn't. He still needed a real world Keyblade to unlock the door to the real world. Now, all he needed to do was take a few more steps to freedom, but Sora was not going to let him do that. After several battles, Sora was victorious and defeated his Heartless for good. Then, Sora, Donald, and Goofy entered back into the real world. After telling King Mickey everything, it was time for Sora to head home. Mickey, Donald, and Goofy said goodbye to him by wishing him sweet dreams, and now that his Heartless was gone for good, Sora would finally have sweet dreams again.
