Kairi noted Sora's chest measurements and leaned over to the notepad again, writing it down before she came back to stand in front of him. "You mean Roxas and Namine?" she asked, wrapping her tape around Sora's waist now. Why does he have to smell so good right now? she wondered, still fighting her blush. She couldn't make eye contact, afraid she would do or say something stupid. She felt the need to be careful around Sora now; with all of the pretty girls that checked him out on campus, he wouldn't choose her...

"Them and Riku and Lightning," Sora amended, taking in a whiff of her shampoo. What was it this time? Lilac? Cherry Blossoms? When the tape coiled around his waist, he inhaled sharply. Their eyes didn't meet, and Sora kept his eyes on the ceiling. He could hear some voices somewhere in front of them; a group of models from Kairi's class passed by. One waved, but Sora's eyes couldn't help but follow their roving gazes. His lips pulled down into a frown. Why were they looking at her like that? Wasn't it clear that he was there too?

Kairi glanced over at the guys that walked by. She smiled politely. "Hi!" she called briefly, but she focused back on Sora again. She didn't catch his expression, getting his measurements instead. After jotting it down, she lowered the tape to his hips. "Yeah, Riku and Lightning was a...surprise," she admitted. "I didn't see that one coming. Did you?" She never really saw the two interact until the arcade. They seemed to get along well.

"Kind of," Sora said thoughtfully, "But I didn't expect him to make a move so soon." The frown on his face was still there as Sora couldn't shake the annoyance he felt. He tightened his jaw slightly when the measuring tape moved down to his hips. It was a challenge to keep calm on any level.

Kairi got Sora's hip measurements and happened to glance up just then. That was when she noticed Sora's expression. "...You don't seem too happy about it," she noted softly, still within close proximity to her best friend. Was he...jealous of Riku? Or was he upset about something else? Was it her? Was she making him uncomfortable or angry?

"W-What?" Sora was startled by her question, but then shook his head. "It's not...that. It's..." He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He didn't want to sound petty, but..."I didn't like how those guys were looking at you." I don't like any guys looking at you. Especially not models...

Kairi blinked. What...? Naturally, she looked back toward the door where the guys had walked by, but then her gaze returned to Sora. "...What do you mean?" she asked, eyebrows furrowing. They weren't looking at her in any sort of way... At least, she hadn't exactly noticed; she was more focused on her project--Sora. Well, her attention had been on Sora for more than just that reason, but still... He seemed quite peeved.

Sora rolled his eyes, unable to keep his peevish feelings secret any longer. "They were ogling you, Kairi. I'm surprised one of them didn't run into a wall they were looking so hard." Was she blind? If he wasn't there, he would have been surprised to find them undressing her with their eyes. What if they tried touching her. Sora's eyes narrowed at the thought.

Kairi frowned when Sora rolled his eyes at her, taking that as an insult to her intelligence. As for what he said, and the way his eyes narrowed as he looked at her.... "So what if they were?" she asked, placing her measuring tape on the table next to them. She couldn't focus on measurements right now. "It's not like girls don't look at you either." She noticed. Of course she noticed. How couldn't she? The keyblade gave Sora muscles and definition in all the right places. Other girls around campus saw it too.

"Doesn't that bother you?" Sora asked. His ire was growing visibly as he crossed his arms over his chest. "You shouldn't let them treat you like that." He wasn't wrong, right? They were being disgusting. At her last statement, however, Sora gave the red head a baffled expression. "Me? What are you talking about? They stare at Riku, not me."

Kairi lowered her gaze to Sora's chest when he crossed his arms, but she brought her hands to cover her face as she sighed. She couldn't go crazy over his pecs right now. "Yes, you," she said, lowering her hands then. "Riku too, sure, but..." She looked back up at him and tilted her head. "Do you think I'm that blind, Sora? I notice these things too." As for the guys that ogled her...she had a few thoughts on that, and she would tell Sora in a moment.

"Well, you are if you didn't notice their gawking," Sora shot back with a scowl. He regretted the words immediately, but his anger clouded his sense to apologize. This conversation wouldn't end well...

Kairi pressed her lips together and lowered her gaze. So that's how you really feel, huh? She tucked her long hair behind her ear and looked toward the door, where the male models in her class had walked by. "Did you ever think that I was too busy looking elsewhere to catch on?" she asked him, voice tight as she frowned up at him. "And their 'gawking' is a compliment. As disgusting as it may seem to you, it can boost a girl's confidence when she isn't getting attention from the person she actually wants--" Kairi stopped short and bit her lip, knowing already she had said too much. Why did Sora even care? It wasn't like he was doing anything about it.

"A compliment!?" Sora's voice rose with outrage. How could she call it that? "You're letting them demean you because some other guy isn't interested?" He wanted to ask who, but a sick feeling pooled in his stomach. The idea of Kairi liking someone else. Being interested in some other guy hurt. "You can't...do that!"

Kairi blinked when Sora raised his voice. Had he ever done that with her before? Regardless, she ground her teeth together, eyebrows furrowing. "It's not just some other guy, Sora!" she replied, hurt in her eyes. Didn't he notice? Didn't he realize it was him she meant? And who was he to tell her what to do?! "Why do you even care?!" He wasn't doing anything to change her mind--not asking her out, flirting with her, giving her the attention those guys did. And he wasn't doing a good job of convincing her she should stick around, either. At this point, waiting on him felt pointless. Maybe she was better off going for a guy she let "demean" her, like he said...

His eyes widened then, hurt flashing in the blue depths. "I care because it's you, Kairi! I care because I--" He stopped himself for a moment. Could he say it? Could he tell her? There was an internal debate for the boy for a moment before he made his decision. "You're one of my best friends, Kairi. I care about what happens to you. I can't believe you'd ask something like that," Sora said lowly. Anger still flooded his eyes, but the hurt was more apparent now.

Kairi looked at Sora for a moment before she took a step back toward the table, grabbing the notepad and her measuring tape. She stuffed it into her bag and slung it over her shoulder before she grabbed Sora's shirt off the nearby chair. "I can't believe my 'best friend' would be so judgmental of me," she said lowly, voice shaking a little due to the hurt in her heart. Still he didn't say or do anything to truly convince her he cared the way she hoped he did. "Or that he would think I'm shallow enough to go for just anyone. It's attention, not acceptance." She could like the attention all she wanted, but that didn't mean she would go for whoever gave it to her. She stepped up to Sora and held his shirt against his chest. "You're off the hook for my project. We're done here." She released his shirt and stepped past him, starting toward the door. She needed to get out of here.

"K-Kairi! Hey!" he tried grabbing onto her wrist, abandoning the shirt in his hands. "It's not like that! I just think that you're better than that! When have you ever cared about what some guy thinks?" He didn't like seeing her so hurt over some idiot.

Kairi stopped when Sora's hand encircled her wrist. She turned to face him. She felt her eyes stinging as she fought the urge to cry from disappointment. "...You really don't get it, do you?" she asked, though he didn't have to answer. She lowered her gaze from his eyes, to his chest, and then finally to his hand around her wrist. I mean you, dummy. But she couldn't say that... Not now. "...It's not just 'some guy', okay?" Her voice was soft, almost embarrassed. It's the guy, she thought. It's you.

Sora's grip grew limp, and he finally released her wrist. His heart ached. Someone that special to her? He wondered who the lucky guy was. "Oh...I see..." He looked down at his shoes, unable to say anymore. What was there to say? She clearly wasn't interested in him...

Kairi lifted her gaze to Sora, but upon seeing his expression, she looked away. She wasn't sure what to say now, and she guessed there wasn't anything she could say. It was just time for her to go. Kairi glanced at Sora one more time before she turned and started out of the studio. She needed some air to clear her head. Whatever just happened, it definitely caused a rift in her relationship--whatever it was--with Sora. That alone caused a single tear to trickle down her cheek.

Sora hadn't seen Kairi in a few days since their fight. It felt strange. His best friend since childhood. Not talking? Sora didn't know what to feel except pain. The few times he had seen the red headed girl she had been with another student. A tall, dark haired boy with piercing blue eyes and an athletic physique. Sora instantly didn't like him. He watched them now--her face glowing and his lips curved into a smile--and scowled. How could they be so happy?

Kairi separated from Noel briefly so he could talk to his friends and she could talk to hers. He nudged her gently with his elbow, which made her giggle softly. She saw her friends gathered around a table outside so she made her way over there. Upon seeing Namine, her eyes brightened; she had so much she needed to tell her! She waved faintly at the boys as well, catching Roxas wave back. Lightning wasn't around at the moment, but Kairi was sure she would see her later. And then there was Sora... Kairi gazed at him, but only for a short second. They hadn't spoken in days, not since the studio incident. After that happened, she had gone and sat on the steps to clear her head...and cry. The boy she was just with--Noel--had seen her and took it upon himself to cheer her up. It worked. He wasn't one of the models Sora scolded her about, so that helped her feel less guilty about leaning on him so much. But...he was a good guy.

"Hey," Naminé greeted, her eyes following the figure of the stranger who had been beside Kairi. He looked a lot like Sora. Was that intentional? Naminé decided not to ask, though she could tell the boy was already visibly uncomfortable by the stiffness of his posture.

"Hey," Kairi replied, though the greeting went to everyone. "What's going on?" They seemed like they were all relatively relaxed, but conversation had been present before she approached. She hoped she didn't interrupt...

"We were just talking about the festival this weekend," Roxas answered, casting a small glance Sora's direction. He felt for him, he really did. This couldn't have been easy for his Somebody, given the circumstances. Kairi had told Namine, who told Roxas...but Sora also briefly mentioned that he and Kairi got into an argument. He hadn't really gone into details, though. "I have to go, since one of my classes requires we do a public performance."

"No kidding? That's awesome, Roxas," Kairi said, standing beside Namine. She would definitely have to check that out. She wondered if Noel would like to watch too...
