Sora sat on the tree of Destiny Islands. E stared at the sunset, his gaze wanderingto the the sparkling sea... This is where sky, sea, and land met each other in perfect harmony. He wondered when he would take his new journey... When he'd be seperated from all this again. From Kairi... From Riku...

From home...

Riku sighed, trudging his feet as he kicked up sand, walking over to the tree where he couldn't often Sora if the brunette wasn't in their Secret Spot, reminiscing on play sword fights and adventures of make believe. Before they knew anything but the world of imagination. He yawned nonchalantly, both hands crossed behind his head as he came up a few feet beside Sora, looking at him lazilly.

"Hey."

Sora's gaze fell and he saw Riku. He smiled a bit and looked back to the ocean.

"Hey."

Sora remembered those dreams he had about all those people, suffering. Some, he knew. Others, were a complete mystery. His gaze didn't wander when he spoke to Riku again.

"I might have to leave again."

  • Author

"Oh really?" Riku dromed, crossing his arms as he leaned aginst the tree trunk once again, following Sora's gaze out to the wide expanse of the ocean. He had a feeling the brunette would have to go...He was just eluctant to admit it.

"Might doesn't mean definitely, am I right?" He asked, already knowing the answer to his question as a light breeze blew across the beach. How many years had it been? Since that first night...the night of Darkness...

Sora shookhis head. "By 'might' I mean that I'm debating on whether to go... Those people.. They need me. But I don't want to leave you or Kairi behind... I got a letter from the King, saying I should get going... But.. I don't want to go alone... I'm scared at what Kairi will say, too..."

Riku hesitated, looking momentarily at Sora from under his hoded eyes before looking back to the ocean's sunset. Of course...he was scared of what Kairi would say. Because he assumed his best friend would except what was to come but...

"Oh. I see."Feeling the silence stretch, he pushed off the tree, looking at Sora momentarily with his bright blue eyes.

"Speaking of Kairi, she wanted me to come get you. It's time for dinner."

Sora got off of the tree trunk and smiled. "Yeah."

Sora walked a bit in front of Riku and laughed a bit. "How about we make this a competition? Last one to Kairi gets to do the dishes?" He suggested, already taking his stance to run. "I'd doubt you'd beat me though. You know I always get to Kairi before you!"

Riku hesitated, feeling his jealousy burn from the darkness within his heart. Of course he'd try harder to get Kairi, he always did. She always came first before him. Sora always chose Kairi over him...

Shaking the negative thoughts from his mind, he gave a forced smirk, already beginning his sprint.

"You always lose anyway though!"

Sora looked at him, mouth agape. "No way! Riku, that's cheating!!"

The brunette ran as fast as his legs could carry him already catching up to Riku. He tried a bit harder and harder until he passed the older boy. He ran and ran and ran until he reached a hut where a delicious aroma was forming.

"I win!!"

Riku frowned just slightly as he finished nota moment later, attempting to regain his breath. Sora had won. He had won to get to Kairi, to go to her first. Riku knew Sora didn't mean to, but he riled him up with his devotion to the red heart. Riku shook his head, ruffling Sors's mess of hair.

(Someones jealous xD)

Sora flinched at Riku's touch but recomposed himself. He walked into the hut and saw Kairi in her apron that she wore when she woul play kitchen.

"Hey guys!" She said, holding a bowl of soup in her hands. She set it down on the table and grinned. Sora's eyes widened. "Wow Kairi! That smells good!" He went and gave her a quick hug before sitting down and getting to eat.

"Hey Riku! Want some?"

  • Author

(Lol, yep xD Jealous!Riku is fun to RP as. So is Manipulative/Mean!Riku to ^^')

Riku easily looked away from their quick hug. He wasn't an idiot afterall. Sora and Kairi were older now, they knew the difference between a playful hug and a meaningful hug. That wasn't them kidding around. He disregarded it though, looking at the soup. Having eaten before it diidn't exactly appetize him. He gave a nonchalant shrug of his shoulders to Sora and Kairi before heading up the stirs where his room was.

"No thanks. I ate already."

Sora looked up at him when he walked to his room. Sora furrowed his eyebrows and put on a concerned face.

"Kairi? I have to go talk to him.." He insisted, getting up. He put his spoon down and started up the stairs.

"Cheer him up!" Kairi called.

"Yeah. I will." Sora said almost to himself.

He saw Riku go in his room. He followed and locked the door behind him. "So what's going on, Riku?"

  • Author

(Lol, if I suddenly leave it's because I had to go out to my bus stop ^^')

Riku raised an eyebrow as Sora walked into his room, locking it as he went. However, he couldn't hold down the small frown tugging at his lips when the brunette leaned against the door, looking up at him with big blue eyes. He wasn't intending to let him out.

"What's going on, Riku?" At the question, Riku swallowed hard, sitting up as he attempted to hold his stoic demeanor.

"Well nothing happened inbetween the two minutes we didn't talk to each other." He taunted, smirking just slightly.

Sora shrugged an his expression softened.

"Guess not. Still..." He sat down on Riku's bed. "I wanna know why you're all grumpy." Sora added. He didn't know why Riku was being so wierd. Was it because he was leaving? He hoped not...

Riku shrugged, poking Sora on the forhead gently like he used to when they were kids.

"You're worrying to much, I always have a bad day." He said airily, like it was nothing. Even though he knew very well it was something.

Sora rubbed his forehead when Riku poked it. "Stop treating me like a little kid!" He commanded. Sora poured and crossed his arms. Seeing Riku act all tough and not letting him inside really fired him up. It was as if they weren't friends.

"You know, if I didn't know better I'd say you were just mad 'cause I'm leaving."

  • Author

Riku stiffened just slightly, looking at Sora from the corner of his eyes irritably. He hated how the brunette assumed things. and how he was usually right.

"I...I thought you said you weren't going to leave."

Sora's head fell. "I kind of decided already. But I didn't want you to go and spill it to Kairi. I want to tell her myself." Sora walked over to Riku and sat on his bed.

"It's just that I have to go. I AM a Keyblade wielder. It's what I'm supposed to do."

  • Author

Riku rolled his eyes, standing up suddenly as he walked over to his window, letting the cool breeze whipping around his silky silver strands of hair.

"Oh. You could have told me, I wouldn't have told Kairi. It's not like I talk to her much anyway." Riku narrowed her eyes, whispered mostly to himself. "We tell each other, we're best friends aren't we?"

Sora smiled. "Yeah. We are. Me, you, and Kairi. All three of us. That means two of us can't hold secrets from each other."

Sora walked over to Riku and held his shoulder. "I'll be back. Promise. But y'know... You can come if you want! I'll need the help. You know how hopeless I am."

  • Author

Riku looked at him curiously, an upward twitch coming onto his lips. He leaned in close to Sora's face, giving a smirk.

"Yeah, you are kinda' oblivious~"

Sora blushed. He backed away a bit, taking one step back. Riku had een close to him but not THIS close.

Sora pushed the silverhaired boy back. He covered his face with one hand and started to walk down the stairs. "Kairi wants you to eat! C'mon!"

  • Author

Riku let out a small chuckle, his eyes following Sora coldly as he followed after him down the stairs, sitting next to him. He found it amusing how bittersweet his feelings could be.He had been Sora's best friend first but he should have known, Sora wouldn't love him. His reaction was clear enough. His heart belonged to Kairi...Riku concluded, sitting at the end of the table, putting some distance between him and Sora.

Sora smiled and began to eat his soup. In the meantime, Kairi served Riku a bowl. She shot a smile to Sora and he grinned, the spoon still in his mouth. Sora's smile fell.

"Kairi...I'll... I'm leaving... I have to go to do my job as a Keyblader..." Sora looked down, his face solemn and serious.

"Sorry..."
