Riku knew getting angry at Kairi and Sora for smiling at each other was a reallu uncalled for reason but he couldn't help it. Jealousy could be a very cruel thing if you love someone as much as Riku did. He didn't bother to look at the red-head as he sipped his soup quetly, eyes closed in content.

"Actually, Sora and I will be leaving soon." He said, specifying what Sora left out. "We'll be here though for a good week or so before hand." Riku admitting, feeling slightly unsettled.

(I totally have two twists to add into the plot O_O My mean/evil side must have generated this because of the one shot last night xD

1.) What if the Darkness Sora had to destroy was Riku because of the thoughts Riku is going to begin having at some point and how betrayed his heart was feeling?

2.) I can't say, it might spoil the horrible surprise ^^'

(Lol okay xD)

Kairi looked Sora. "Y-you're... Leaving..?" Sh pulled up an extra chair between them and sat down.

"Yeah. Me and Riku. We'll be fine." he assured her. He didn't want Kairi to worry.

Look at that, look how easily she comes between you two without a second thought? A voice whispered tauntingly, making Riku flinch. He attempted to ignore it, looking down cast at his unique shoes rather then up at his friends.

"Sorry, Kairi."

Kairi looked at Riku and smiled.

"Right." She looked to Sora, "Don't get yourself hurt. Take care." She then turnedto Riku.

"Take care of him..."

Kairi got up and walked out, ruffling Sora's hair a bit before walking out of the room. Sora chuckled and smiled. His face turned serious, however, when he saw Riku.

"So when should we get ready..?"

  • Author

Riku leaned back in his chair nonchalantly, giving a small shrug.

"I don't know. I figure we'll take a day or so to get stuff together. Then maybe the next few days after that we can train a bit, sparing and what not." Riku said, throwing his game plan out there as he looked at Sora from underneath his silver bangs which his blue eyes look even more brilliant.

Sora's lips tugged downward a bit. He pondered a bit.

His face lit up in an instant as he grinned toothily. "Nah! Maybe all three of us can fool around instead. We can spend time with Kairi before we both leave. I mean, she IS going to be alone for a while..."

Sora walked over to Riku and held his shoulder. "C'mon. Let's go!"

Riku tried not to slap Sora's comforting hand away, he really did. And he couldn't help but be soothed as he melted from Sora's touch. But it made him boil to know that warmth wasn't just for him. But he knew deep down, it wasn't so bad to hang out with Kairi, right?

Riku yawned slightly, getting up as he instead walked to the stairs.

"Let's at least get some sleep first. Tomorrow we'll hang out, all of us. Besides, we all know you get nightmares if you stay up to long?" He gave one of his signature smirks."And we wouldn't want that would we Mister-I'll-Be-Fine?"

Sora poured and stuck his tounge out at Riku.

"Jerk~. I only get nightmares if I eat sweets." Sora stil smiled and chuckled. He walked upstairs wih Riku. He called out to Kairi once more.

"Hey, Kairi! We're going to bed!"

"Alright! Night guys!"

Sora smiled wider and pushed Riku along. "C'mon, Riku! Hurry up!"

Riku rolled his eyes, giving a small chuckle before he leaned back slightly into Sora's pushing hands. He lazilly stuck his hand in one of Sora's pockets, satisfied when he heard the crinkling of wrappers.

"Someone's going to get scared again?"

Sora blushed furiously. He pushed Riku up the stairs hard. "GO! GO! GO!!!" As soon as he got Riku out of the way, he ran to his room, slamming the door shut. He passed by his little trashcan and emptied out his pockets.

"STAY OUTTA MY POCKETS!" Sora yelled, still blushing. Geez.

Sometimes Riku could be the biggest wierdo in the world.

Riku gave out a few snickers as Sora forcefully pushed past him, hurrying into his room quickly. Shaking his head, the silver-haired teen ventured into his own room, leaving the door open for later in the night. Just in case. He could distinctively hear Sora throwing out candy and muttering under his breath. As Riku flopped onto his bed in all but a basketball tanktop and sports shorts, he couldn't help but think of how the two of them had changed.

Sora finished throwing away the wrappers in his pockets and walked over to his drawers. He changed into red shorts and a white t-shirt. He jumped onto his bed, looking out at the window next to it. He looked out and saw the many stars shining in the sky. He repeated the words he remembered from Kairi's letter.

"One sky. One destiny."

Sighing, Riku folded his arms behind his head, looking up at his plaster ceiling. Little ornaments of toy planes that he and Sora used to make hung in the air and he smiled at those. They were the carefree good times. When he didn't need to be silent and quiet. When had that happened?

Sora sighed. He didn't want to leave Kairi all by herself, but he didn't want to just leave Riku either. He was so comfortable around Kairi, but had this wierd feeling around Riku. Bad or good, he didn't know. All he did know is that he was so self conscious and worried about himself way too much around him nowadays...

Riku gave a sigh, running his hands through his silver hair. What he could do to control himself? Especially with Sora around Kairi all the time. He remembered when he and Kairi had been even closer then him and Sora. How did that feeling turn into redemption? He closed his eyes, shunning the unpleasant thoughts and forced himself to sleep.

.

.

He struggled in his sleep, the moon high in the sky and filtering through his window. Sweat shined on his forehead as his brow crinkled in confusion.

"N-no..." Funny how he teased Sora about being scared and woken by nightmares when here he was trapped in one.

"No! Get away!"

Sora ran from a figure, black and menacing. What it was, he didn't know. Sora then saw Riku, running beside him.

"Sora I-"

His throat was slashed and when Sora blinked, he disappeared. He turned to the monster in fright and felt tears forming in his eyes. The figures eyes glee red and with one swift movement, Sora awoke, a pain stinging across his neck.

He wiped the cold swet off his forehead and gasped. "Riku..."

Riku gasped as he looked around in his horrible dream, outstretching his hand towards the two walking away from his body. Sora and Kairi. The looked at him with distaste. Because they knew. They knew of his jealousy. They knew of his selfish thoughts. And that made him worse then any Heartless in their eyes.

Riku woke up as his vision in his dream darkened, panting as he did so. He looked himself all over and breathed a sigh of relief. He was okay.

Sora threw his legs over the bed an sighed. He placed a hand to his forehead and clutched his bangs. The brunnete stood and opened his door, hoping to get some fresh air.

However, he heard a creak come from Riku's room and raised an eyebrow. Sora opened the door quietly.

"You okay..?"

  • Author

Riku looked up and saw Sora in his doorway. He himself looked quite ruffled, his cheeks just slightly reddened with heat. He debated on telling the brunette his feelings, about his dream, but he decided against it, shaking his head.

"Course I am, I just can't sleep is all. What about you? the sweets get to you?" He teased, smiling just a bit to ensure Sora that he was fine. Even if he really wasn't.

Sora frowned. "Yeah, I had a dream that me and you died... I heard that it means that your old self dies. And you change. Maybe that means we'll both change."

He looked up to Riku and furrowed his eyebrows when he scanned his face.

"You're lying to me."

  • Author

Riku was surprised by Sora's dream. He hadn't been expecting such a reply from Sora of all people. And he couldn't decide that if their old selves had died...was it for the better or worst. Before he could ask Sora's opinion he felt his breath hitch in his throat. Was he really that obvious when it came to lying?

"I...just a bad dream Sora, nothing to bad. It was silly."

Sora rolled his eyes. "Okay. Fine."

He closed the door and sighed. "Night, Riku." Sora walked out into the hallway and into his room. He locked the door and jumped onto his bed. He looked to the stars once more before drifting to sleep.

  • Author

Riku sighed, watching Sora walk away, hearing the familiar click of his door locking. He had a feeling this change...wasn't for the best. But maybe he was just over thinking things.

"Goodnight Sora." he said, even though he knew Sora probably couldn't hear him.

.

The next morning Riku was up bright and early, having gotten no sleep, and leaning against the balcony of their house's small porch. He enjoyed feeling the cool breeze against his skin as he watched the sunrise.

Sora got up with a small creak. He changed into his regular clothes and exited his room. He walked downstairs and down tothe beach. He walked over to his usual tree until he saw Kaii sitting there too. Fumbling with something. He smiled and sat next to her.

"Hey, Kairi!"

"Oh, hey, Sora."

From his position, Riku saw Sora approaching Kairi at their usual spot. He narrowed his icy blue eyes, gripping the railing tightly. 'Control Riku...control...' He decided to watch events unfurl....for now.
