Sora froze. Riku had never spoke to him like that. It made him wonder for just a second...

 

Who is he..?

 

Sora closed his eyes shut and whimpered a bit. He growled a bit and ran away from Riku as fast as he could. "Fine! I... I thought we were best friends but I guess I was wrong!"

(;-; Poor Sora, dammit Riku don't be so mean!)

 

Riku watched as Sora ran, slowly realizing what he had just done. He hadn't really meant it. He really didn't. He had no clue as to why he was being such a meanie to Sora. But he probably just ruined their friendship.

 

"Sora...Sora wait!" He yelled, beginning to run to catch up to his friend. Being desperate to catch him though, he tripped over his own two feet, landing in the sand.

 

"F-firetruck..."

 

(Riku! You said a bad word!)

(Ooooh Go eat a bar of soap. )

 

Sora kept running. He heard Riku calling to him but that just made him run faster. He ran into the dark cave that he and Riku went in a while ago. He saw the drawing of him and Riku. He examined Riku and felt an unbearable amount of rage. His face got hot and tears fell out. He couldnt help it.

 

He started to smear and erase Riku's face.

(NUUU Sora! Oooooh, when Riku see's that )

 

Riku hit his fist angrily against the sand stumbling to his feet and tripping as he ran after the brunette. He sawhim disappear into the cave and Riku went in after him.

 

"S-Sora wait! I'm sorry! I'm-" Riku stopped, eyes widening at the sight of Sora's actions. He was smearing this picture away. "Sorry."

Sora looked at Riku with unimaginable hate and sadness. He sniffed as the tears fell out of his eyes. Sora fell to his knees and covered his face, wails and moans of anger and depression escaping his lips.

 

"You.. You don't want to be friends anymore!!!"

Riku felt his heart wrench in hearing that, kneeling down to gently run his hands through Sora's soft hair. He didn't like seeing Sora upset like this, even when it was his fault. He pulled the boy into his lap, one arm on his waist as he tried to calm him down.

 

"No. I do wanna be friends, I do. Sora I just...I didn't feel to good, so I wanted to go home. I didn't want you to miss out but you kept following me and it annoyed me."

 

(LIES, LIES, LIIIIEEEES)

(SHENANIGANS!!!)

 

Sora shook. The warmth of Riku and the coldness of hos own body clashing made him siver. He clung to Riku and sniffed. "You should have just told me Riku! I.. I..." Sora couldnt finish. He buried his head in Riku's shirt and pulled him closer, staining his shirt with tears.

Riku sighed, holding Sora closeas he wept.

 

"You what Sora?" He asked, wanting him to finish his sentance. What he been going to say? He tilted his chin up, wiping away Sor's tears.

Sora closed his eyes as Riku wiped his tears away. He let go of Riku and sat up on his own. After wiping the last of his tears away, he gulped. "Nothing. Just forget it. I'll leave you alone now... Like you said, you don't need a shadow...."

Sora got up and started to walk out of the cave, leaving the smeared drawing.

"Sora," He jumped up, grabbing the brunette's arm. He could tell the boy was still mad at him. He knew he wouldn't understand but...

 

"Sora I didn't mean it. You're not a shadow, you're a part of me...that I need."Riku admitted, not caring how sappy he sounded.

Sora's frown started to transform into a thin line. He looked at the boy and soon laughed a little. He ran back to the boy and hugged him, wrapping his arms tightly around him. "I'm real sorry...Riku..."

Riku hugged him back happily, nuzzling his hair as he smiled gently. He had gotten his way again. But at least Sora forgave him, that was what mattered.

 

"I am to..."

 

(Next day?)

(Sure!)

 

Sora awoke the next day on the island, nuzzled in Riku's arms. He looked around him, The sun wasn't shining...Was it still night? No...they were still in that cave. Sora smiled and gently wiggled out of Riku's arms. Before exiting the cave, he once again, drew Riku's face on the stone.

Riku mumbled in his sleep, holding his imaginary Sora close to his chest. Which is when he realized...

 

Sora was gone.

 

He jumped up, looking around for the brunette and found it to be empty. Immediately he headed out to the island shore, cupping his mouth.

 

"SOORAAAAA!"

Sora skipped happily towards the water. He was hoping to find their boat so they could leave and get some food.

But then he heard Riku calling him. He sounded scared. He ran over to where Riku was and frowned. "What's wrong, Riku?" He asked.

Riku gave a relieved sigh, holding his heart thankfully. In just those split seconds he had been so worried...Worried that Sora had been taken away from him. Or hurt. Or...or...anything but okay. He looked up at the brunette shaking his head in disbelief.

 

"You...don't scare me like that Sora." He breathed, finally able to form a proper sentence.

Sora frowned. It's not like he was gone for an hour or something...

"Geez. Same old Riku. Don't worry about me so much." Sora explained. "We

need to get home remember?"

 

At that instant, he saw that girl again, rowing to shore with Selphie.

Would Riku get mad if he saw here here again..?

Riku rolled his aqua eyes just a bit before hearing more water water then neccesary being sloshed against the shore. It was Selphie and Kairi...great. In remembering how mad he'd gotten though he tried to warm his gaze, half-failing, half-succeeding.

 

"No, I do. You can stay if you'd like."

Sora noticed Riku's expression and furrowed his eyebrows. Was Riku going to act like this again. He wanted to stay of course, but Riku'd be mad, for sure. After a moment of silence, he spoke.

 

"If you're not here, it won't be any fun."

Riku paused mid-step to turn and look at Sora. He felt himself leap with triumph but he made an effort to hide it. He didn't want to let Sora know he was happy to make him go with him.

 

"It's okay Sora," He stated, giving a believable smile and ruffling his hair playfully. "Go have some fun, it'll be okay."

Sora felt a wave of happiness flow through him. He quickly embraced Riku, holding him tightly. Sora buried his face in his shoulder and laughed lightly.

 

"Thanks, Riku."

 

With that, he let go of his friend an ran towards the other side of the shore.
