Chapter 1

Everyone just had absolute hatred in their eyes for them, they knew why.  The still corpse on the steel blue queen-sized mattress was only barely alive.  Rid knew that they were responsible for that dog-like person's body being like that.  Besides, they were literally one half of her, Christine Wolf.  How anyone derived the name Rid from Christine was beyond them.

One person came dashing towards Rid, they barely dodged in time.  They deflected the greying haired, balding, and four-eyed duck's sudden attack with a metal bat with a dodge and then a whole lot of purple gunk all over their face.  The duck's name was, Rid couldn't bother to recall it at that moment.  "I should be going," they said flicking their index and middle fingers of their gloved hand under their feet.  Rid sank into the carpeted white floor like a two dimensional shadow.

"Ludwig, get the oxygen mask," a voice screamed.

___

Rid came out of nowhere on a balcony on a giant steel-blue skyscraper.  "Glad, I got out of there," Rid sighed as they swept the sweat from their brow and pulled off their black hood.  Hazel eyes gawked down at the sprawling city below.  Not quite to make of where they were.  Manhattan, they thought.  "It doesn't matter," Rid said to themselves as they flung their legs over their ledge and took a seat on the narrow bridge of concrete.  "I gotta find myself a way out of here!"  Rid said gazing up at the blue cerulean sky above.

___

The anthropomorphic dog girl's chest slowly rose up and down.  Everyone sighed with relief, especially the girl's mother, a large and intimidating humanoid bulldog.

"How are we supposed to stop that fake and get back my daughter's beating heart," Christine's mother demanded about to grab Ludwig von Drake, the white duck scientist up by his collar.  Tyler, a gray and black husky blocked the plump woman's path to Ludwig.

"Mom, you need to calm down!  The doc's the only one we have here that even knows a thing about...um...what did you call 'em again?"

"Nobodies," Ludwig answered matter of factly.
