A Namine x Demyx [x Roxas] love triangle. /faint 8D

Demyx sat lazily at the local park. Raidant Garden was famous for relieving stress, and that was exactly what Demyx needed. The band he tried to start didnt end up going so well and to make it worse, his girlfriend dumped him because he was 'a failure'.

 

He took out his sitar from its case and tuned it. If he was ever feeling emotional or bored, he would always play it. This was one of those times, he supposed.

With a smile, Namine gently closed her sketchbook. She often came to Radiant Garden seeking new subjects. She got bored of always drawing her same friends. She'd just completed a sketch of the boy on the park bench across from her, who was playing his sitar.

 

For a moment, Namine sat still, just staring at the boy. "That's beautiful.." She murmered to herself. "I wonder if he's in a band or something. I'd sure buy a CD."

Demyx played his guitar some more. His fingers flew ovr the strings fluidly. He loved music. It was the one thing that he was in love with in the whole wide world.

When he finished playing, Demyx sighed with a smile, content with himself. That song was so calming. He looked up and saw a blonde girl staring at him with big blue eyes. Demyx was left breathless for a moment but then smiled, just to be friendly.

 

"Like it..?"

When Namine realized he was talking to her, her cheeks turned tomato red. Her heartbeat sped up. When he wasn't making amazing music, he looked pretty damn cute. All she could manage at first was an oddly vigorous nod. "Y-Yeah," She stammered. "It's beautiful." To keep them from an awkward moment of silence, she pressed. "A-Are you in a band, or s-something? You'd be great." Oh, shut up. You're making a fool of yourself. She scolded herself.

Demyx laughed. She looked cute when she blushed.

"Nah." Demyx said. "I tried. It ended in a couple of disasters." Demyx scrathed his head and smiled goofily. "My band hated me and kicked me out. Shortly after that, they disbanded. Then, when my girlfriend found out we weren't making any money, she broke up with me." Demyx tried to act as happy as he could. He didn't want to dump all of this on Namine.

Thankfully, the boy seemed to overlook what she thought of as stupid comments. "A-Ah. I'm sorry," Namine fidgeted with the rings of her well-worn sketchbook. The page she'd drawn the boy on seemed intent on magically turning into flaming paper, burning its way free, and flying over to where the boy could see. It was a silly thought, but it didn't comfort her any.

 

"My name's Namine--w-what's yours?"

Demyx looked up in surprise.

 

Namine...? What a nice name...

 

He sat next to her, a good distance away and grinned toothily. "Demyx Wavecrest. But if you want, just call me Demyx." He laughed and grinned a bit wider. This girl was nice and pretty too... Much of a better person than his rotten ex...

He noticed the sketchbook she was holding and put on a wondering face.

 

"What's that?"

"Nice to meet you," She smiled, glad he didn't seem to think her wierd.

 

"What's that?" She felt his gaze slide to her sketchbook. Her fears suddenly didn't seem so silly. WAS the page on fire? She was tempted to check. Namine's cheeks turned a bright red once more. She wished she'd drawn someone else.. How embarrasing would it be to admit she'd been sketching a picture of him? If he didn't think she was a freak now, he would in a minute.

 

"O-Oh, this little old thing? Ah, nothing, just some icky old sketches."

Demyx raised an eyebrow and smiled. "I honestly do not and will not think that your drawings will be icky, Namine. You're a beautiful girl and I bet you have beautiful drawing. I'm sure of that." He laughed and put away his sitar in it's case. After, Demyx looked back to Namine. He got Namine's sketchbook and looked at her.

 

"May I..?"

Demyx's words rang in Namine's ears. He'd called her beautiful. She was fairly sure that her cheeks would stay permanately scarlet now. When he picked up her sketchbook, though, she wasn't sure how to answer. Not that she'd known how to answer anything else he'd said. Maybe he'd just look through a few pictures, and never know that the sketch of him was there..? She almost laughed out loud. Yeah, right. With her luck, he'd be looking for that picture of him. Regardless, she nodded faintly. "Sure," She struggled to keep her voice from shaking.

Demyx took the notebook and smiled. He admired it for a while and opened it slowly. The first thing he did was flip the pages. They were really childish drawings, but cute nonetheless. He saw one of her, a girl with red hair, a boy with brown hair, and another with silver hair. They were all holding hands. Then, he flipped the page and saw one of him. He was chibi style with a little sitar.

 

"Wow. That's really cute!" He said, laughing.

Whether he was being polite or not, she hoped there was just one picture Demyx'd miss.. He exclaimed about one of her pictures. She practically fell off the bench as she leaned to see which he was speaking of. Don't let it be the one of him.. Don't let it be the one of him..

 

"I-It's nothing. They're just silly. I do-do them when I'm bored. Just silly little doodles. They're not of anyone in particular or anything. I just-just made them up on the fly." She lied nervously.

 

Drawn as best she could, he was flipped to the most recent drawing. The one of him.

Demyx exhaled loudly, scanning the page. He caught all the tiny deatails. The ring around his blue eyes, the way his clothes wrinkled, the designs on his shoes... Everything was so detailed and perfect. He smiled and laughed once. For a kid drawing, it was pretty damn good.

 

"Did you draw this just now?" he asked.

Namine blushed deeper. It seemed she'd done more embarrasing herself than befriending Demyx. "Y-Yeah," She murmered. "I-I messed up a little." Namine lied, not wanting him to think her childish artwork was all she could do. She knew it was better not to mention the only things she really enjoyed drawing were the things that she dreamed about the most. She smiled faintly. "If you want me to, I c-could change it for you.."

Demyx shook his head. These were great! Why did she think there was a need to modify any of them?!

He smiled and looked at Namie. "I swear, you draw beautifully. And I wanted to ask something." He gave Namine back her sketchbook and stuck it out on tha page where he was drawn so epicly.

 

"May I have this one? I'd pay ya for it!"

Was he sincere, or just taking pity on her? Either way, Namine smiled--for the first time without her signature accompanying blush. "O-Of course." She gave a low, but real laugh. "Why would you need to pay me? Y-You can have it, D-D-Demyx." Namine fidgeted with a lock of her golden hair.

 

"Namine!" A boy yelled. "Hi!"

Demyx smiled. He took her sketchbook once again and carefullly tore the side. He didn't want to ruin it. He thought he looked pretty cute in it. When he was done tearing it, he smiled. It was his now. When he was about to speak, a voice drowned him out. He turned and saw a boy approaching.

 

"Who the hell-"

A blond-haired boy rushed to Namine's side. "Hey, Namine! What a coincidence.. Meeting you here.." He cleared his throat, glancing sideways at Demyx and seeming annoyed. He ruffled his hair with a forced smile.

 

"Hi, Roxas," Namine murmured, her cheeks heating up. She hoped Demyx wasn't offended--why would he be offended? She needed to get over herself. She wasn't exactly a popularity magnet, so she didn't have room to talk. Not that Namine did much talking anyway.

 

"Wanna introduce me?" Roxas prodded.

 

"Yeah," Namine mumbled. "Um, Roxas, this is Demyx. Demyx, Roxas."

Demyx was caught speechless. He didn't know what to say. The awkwardnes in the atmosphere was almost tangible and Demyx felt he had to get out of there. He didn't know why but he felt as if when Roxas had said that, his heart sank.

 

Quickly, he stood up and put on his sitar case. Demyx extended a hand towards the male blond and shook his.

 

"I'm happy for you. You have a wonderful wife." He shot an apologetic smile to Namine. "But it seems I can't stay and chat. I have to run. Bye!"

Demyx ran off into the alley. He didn't know where he was headed, since he didn't actually have anywhere to go. So, instead of staying in the alley, he decided to walk back to his house.

 

Curse him for not bringing his car.

 

Roxas shook his head and kept his eyes in the direction Demyx went. "No thank you. You just met him today right? Why would I want to talk to a stranger on the street? Speaking of which, you shouldn't have been talking to him either." He said, getting irritated.

'At least Demyx left. Roxas probably would have been ruder than he was before.' Namin

Demyx started up his lawn and pulled out his keys. He wanted to stay at the park some more and play his sitar. Unfortunately, Roxas decided to show up and make the situation uncomfortable to stay in. He ruined the mood.

 

Demyx unlocked his door and stepped inside. He really hoped his roommate Axel wasn't home. He didnt want to talk to anyone right now.

Demyx walked upstairs to his messy room, trying to find a CD. Unfortunatley, he only had that Meg&Dia CD that they got him for Christmas. A lousy Christmas gift indeed. With nothing more to put, he popped the CD into the player and sat on the couch, drowning in music.

 

Strangely enough, the song that played reminded him of Namine.
