Posted January 16, 201114 yr Is it true the average price of a video game is $110 AUD (70 - 90E)? Is Sony (and to a lesser extent Nintendo) the only company(ies) that really make an effort towards publishing and advertising down under? How many people there ACTUALLY like the taste of Vegemite? Is the Sydney Opera house used primarily for operas, or mainly for other activities like rock concerts and such.
January 28, 201114 yr Yes. Games can cost as much as $120 here. Uh, I haven't really noticed. I hate Vegemite. Yuck. But most people like it, and Nutella. There tends to be some.. concert type things there. I dunno bout it being primarily used for operas, probably. Kind of, and I don't have to. Lol. I dunno. o__o Nope. Haha. I have no idea, and I know no-one that owns one. Gee, Soccer, Football.. hell I have no idea. Could be Cricket for all I know. I'm not, but I guess a lot are lol. For me: 5 or 10 minute walk. > I'm Australian and I fail at being one. yay!
January 28, 201114 yr I'm gonna number it instead of the huge block of text 1. A brand new huge game can cost up to $120, but people can always buy online now in Australia, since $1 in Australia is 99.5cents in America, so it doesn't really matter.... 2. Dunno, all the new games come here, so yeah, I've never noticed 3. Not me, the rest of my family does, but I don't (I heard on the news for Australia Da an Ice Cream company made a Vegemite flavoured Ice Cream, I almost threw up looking at it, eww, Ice Cream and Vegemite.......But it's ok on toast, when you don't go crazy and put half the jar in) 4. In April there's going to be a concert thingy for Final Fantasy, so make of that as you will 5. Yeah, and o, I do not have to check for sand-dwelling killers, contrary to public belief, Australia is actually not a huge beach, there are actually buildings here, and there is not sand everywhere (I know, stereotyping has made that hard to believe lol) 6. lolwut? why would there be rusty objects all along our shorelines? 7. No, I haven't been stung or anything like that, Australia isn't just beaches and forests, there are modern things in Australia (wow, I thought when people said this they were joking, but do people really believe that we are just an island filled with forests and beaches) 8. Obviously the government is anti-gun, and people don't just flash around a gun like "hey y'all, look at meh gun *shoot shoot*" I don't know anyone with a gun around here 9. *shudder* Probably Cricket........ eww *activates flame shield* But possibly AFL or NRL as well, I prefer NRL tbh.... 10. We joke about that they "like" sheep, but no, Australia has nothing against New Zealand..... 11. 10 minutes Finally, a question of my own, are you coming to Australia just because Oprah told you to?
January 28, 201114 yr It various, older games such as the PS2 are pretty cheap. PS3, X-Box 360 can cost $100. It's about even. I don't know, I just know I don't like it. I don't think many rock concerts happen at the Sydney Opera house. None at all exist? None at all exist? No. No, no one I know at all has one. AFL is the most popular sport in Australia. We created it of course. No we are not. Not far at all, I've got one only a few streets away.
January 28, 201114 yr 1. yeh we get ripped of bad here 2. more noticeably Sony and Microsoft 3. it's very split. you either love it or hate 4. Mainly more formal opera, orchestra stuff as opposed to rock concerts 5. definitely not in urban areas. although you will see the occasional spider, you don't have to really worry about it. that is until you drive further out. 6. I'm assuming not much. why ask that question, it's very strange? 7. There are LOOOTTS of mosquitoes, so be prepared (mainly in summer). there are bees and wasps around but they're not a problem unless you're allergic. 8. the only people that i know have guns (which is only 1 family) only use it for hunting rarely and even then they're not exactly flashy. 9. I would have to say AFL (Australian Football League, Aussie Rules, call it what you will), but cricket is also big and soccer is growing larger. Tennis is also very common for people my age (16) 10. Nope. there's the occasional sheep joke and 'fush and chups' remarks but besides that we get along splendidly. 11. not very far, 5-10min walk. almost every suburb has 1.
January 28, 201114 yr Author I was just curious peeps plus I had this friend bring up things about australia and I just wondered especially since theres a few australians here!

January 29, 201114 yr AFL is the most popular sport in Australia because it's our sport. We made it and almost everyone in Australia loves it.
January 29, 201114 yr Nobody in my area loves AFL, AFL is the Melbourne sport, New South Wales focuses more on NRL lol (tbh, besides the Sydney Swans, I don't know a single team in AFL, and my area all loves the Dragons/Tigers from NRL, just sayin', not everyone loves AFL in Australia)

You'll probably hear of Greater Western Sydney soon. NSW took ages to accept the Sydney Swans when they left South Melbourne.
