Okay, so I was just playing Birth by Sleep and I was on Destiney Islands as Terra, and a thought just popped into my head while I was watching the cutscene, what if Riku is a copy of Master Xeahnort? Here are some things that make me think so.

1.) Nobody on Destiney Islands knew about the outside worlds, until Kairi got there. So how would Riku know about a man who left a long time ago, even before he was born?

2.) Terra saw Xeahnort as Riku, when Xeahnort was standing on the island as a young boy.

3.) What if Terra mistaked the light he found, and it was really Sora he was feeling.

4.) Xeahnort also knew that if you deafet a heartless and deafet a nobody, that the whole would come back. In kh1, maybe Riku knew he wouldn't stand a chance agianst Sora and pinned him up agianst Ansem so that Xeahnorts body would return.

4.) Riku led Sora to fight Xemnas, thus making there not only 3 Xeahnorts, but four including Riku.

5.) Yen Sid wants to give the mark of mastery exam, probably wanting to see inside the heart of Riku. To see how much darkness he has.

What do you guys think?

WOAH!! :D nice facts, well it explains the darkness in him but the darkness left him during the alter of naught cutscene as mickey says but there is allways darkness after all

I seriously doubt it. The darkness Riku had was given to him by Maleficent. Also, Xehanort didn't know about Nobodies, seeing as Xemnas was the first. Also, the story of Xehanort leaving the islands was passed down, which is why Riku knew. And Riku was being possessed by Ansem SoD, he didn't pit him against Sora. Riku was Sora's friend and the Keyblade Wielder chosen by Terra, that's it.

There was already a thread about some of this. Anyway, #1: Watch the cutscene again and it answers your question. #2: Terra had a little vision because of the similarities between Riku and Xehanort. Both were islanders wanting to explore other places, and when they did, they both ended up in darkness.

Riku being a copy of Xehanort? O.o...

He's not. He held Ansem SoD back when he tried to attack Kairi, Donald and Goofy, proving him to be good. And he was helping Sora, not pitting him against Xemnas. See above answers for more reasons.

Nice brain storming! But when Terra saw young Xehanort as Kh2 Riku, that's a mystery. I think he has some type of connection between him.

I think he was given a vision of the man Riku would become.

I wouldn't say nobody, just nobody we know. Some of them may have drawn the same conclusion as Riku about "the kid who left the islands for good" and assumed he found a way into other worlds after all. But anyways, technically, they're not supposed to. World order and all that.

Because Master Xehanort was born there, and his story was passed down to the younger generations, like a legend of sorts, or a rumor.

2.) Terra saw Xeahnort as Riku, when Xeahnort was standing on the island as a young boy.

Terra's visions are used intentionally to show his future connection with Riku.

3.) What if Terra mistaked the light he found, and it was really Sora he was feeling.

Considering how long Terra must've been training undert Master Eraqus, I doubt he'd make a mistake like that. It's not like Riku was born with a ton of darkness in his heart. That light was Riku's.

(Little pet theory of mine; feel free to ignore. I've always believed that everyone was born with a heart of pure light, except those who aren't Princesses could be corrupted by darkness over time. In this case, Riku just became more susceptible to corruption than Sora.)

4.) Xeahnort also knew that if you deafet a heartless and deafet a nobody, that the whole would come back. In kh1, maybe Riku knew he wouldn't stand a chance agianst Sora and pinned him up agianst Ansem so that Xeahnorts body would return.

Um... no.

o.o

Yen Sid isn't Eraqus. He's not biased against the darkness, and even if he was, that shouldn't be a factor in whether or not Riku deserves to be a Master, especially considering how desperately they need Keyblade Masters right now.

I don't agree at all. But that's just me.

Honestly i always thought that maybe Riku was related to Xehanort, maybe as a great uncle or something, and maybe that's why he'd know about someone leaving the island, but even that might be a bit far-fetched...
