The skys was rumbling, shaking the world with every strike of lighting.

The world was being torn apart.

Fissures cascaded the ground.

Tornados destroyed land, trees and houses.

The world plunging into deeper darkness.

 

Amid all this chaos, a little voice said " Im scared".

Another voice responded " whatever happens ill protect you."

"Soarian where are you!" said Opal from down the hall

Soarian having heard her from his room thought it be best to say nothing!

"Where are you!" cried Opal again.

"Ug stop bothering me" Soarian thought. Just then he felt a sharp pain on his side.

"Ow!!!!!" cried Soarian

"Oops! Did i kick you?" said Opal with fake innocence.

"You want to be a soldier don't you? Well you won't be if you mope around here" Opal teased.

"Well Opal is right" thought Soarian. "What happened was long ago I can't change it. Today is a new day, live it."

Soarian 16 and Opal 15 are orphans in the orphan ward of Randor.

Randor: a small costal town on the east coast of Mondel.

Each orphan will be sent to a academy that specializes a specfic trade: war, art etc.

"Well today is the day your future is set Soarian, ready?" asked Opal.

"Completely" replied Soarian.

"Thats great!" Opal said with a warm smile.

"Good luck!"

"You too Opal".

 

"All going for military academy here!" yelled the instructor. " I will divide you guys into pairs for the qualfication exams.

"You two" indicating towards Soarian and another boy, "are partners."

After all of them were paired, the instructor said "Get too know your partners!". "They might save your life!" the instrutor added with a grin.
