PS3 Help! - Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD)

Posted

Hey there guys,

Well most PS3 users might have heard of the YLOD (Yellow Light of Death). Pretty much, this is the Red Ring of Death, but for PS3.

My PS3 got this a couple of days ago and I wanted to know, how do I fix it. o_O

I'm going to try the hairdryer trick because i really don't know another way.

So do you guys know any way I can fix my PS3 besides sending i to Sony?

Yeah, I got it from a friend so no warranty. I might have to buy a new one. -__-

bring that one in ask for a slim vertion thats what i didnd make shore to keep the reseat if ya do this cause if the next one brakes that reseat will save you a fair bit of money

go to game a rama and they will fix it for like $100ish in like an hour

No idea. Mine's never done it. Not even sure what it is...

ok well don't send it to sony because that thing is dead officially and spending money to fix it is pointless because it will just break again later. you should open it up and try to fix it, because you have nothing to lose, and if you fail, buy a new one. you might need to buy some parts for it if you try to fix it, though. but as long as the parts are under 100 dollars (which they definitely should be), try to fix it. or if sony's price for fixing ps3s isnt too high just let them fix it.
