Bio: When Ariel was 10, her powers developed and went out of control. Once her parents found out she was a mutant, she heard them planning to put her up for adoption, so she ran away and lived on the streets for about a year. She was arrested for stealing from a store and when Professor Xavier heard about it and that she was a mutant, he took her to live at his school.

 

Mutant Ability: Can create objects out of telekinetic enrgy and maniputate it however she wants

 

Personality: Quite friendly, but can have a bad temper sometimes

Malcolm was silent for a second. He wishes he could say something to reassure her. He walks over and stands beside her.

"I don't know about a daughter yet." He says. "But I'll take a freak friend."

Ariel looked at Malcolm and smiled.

"Thanks... Sometimes I just forget how easy my life seems compared to some of the other students at this school, and just lose it..." she said.

"If it weren't for Professor Xavier, I would probably be in jail." she said and halfway smiled.

Malcolm shrugs.

"Good thing he found you, then." He says.

He looks out on the School grounds.

"I think most of us would be worse off if Professor Xavier."

Malcolm hears voices coming from were the sentinel lay.

"Hey." He says, "Wanna listen in?"

"Sure, why not?" Ariel said. She looked closer and saw that the people by the sentinal were still Wolverine and Beast. She leaned over the roof to hear what they were saying better.

"Wolverine, there is no need to talk like that." she heard Beast say. "Well it's true. These kids ain't safe around here if they keep sendin' in these sentinals." Wolverine said. "Well, from what I've heard, a student is the one who destroyed the sentinal." Beast said. Wolverine took another look at the sentinal. "This thing ain't built for fightin'. All the hunk of junk can do is walk and talk. If they ever sent a real sentinal out here, there wouldn't be as many students here..." Wolverine said.

Ariel looked back up at Malcolm and said, "This doesn't look good..."

"Nope." Malcolm answers.

Malcolm scratches his head.

"Why would someone send a sentinel like that here?" He wonders aloud.

"Test security? Get scans?"

A cold feeling settles in Malcolm's stomach.

"Was this sent here to get us out in the open?"

"I don't know... Possibly" Ariel said.

"Maybe they...I don't know... Magneto could have something to do with it. He controls metal, so he could've stolen the sentinal and sent it here, just to scare us or something..." Ariel said.

"Let's go talk to Wolverine and Beast." she suggested, then came down from the roof and walked over to them.

Malcolm cringes. Talk to Mr. Logan. Not is favorite activity, but he couldn't let Ariel go down there alone. He levitates down, but nearly falls as he lands.

"Crap." Malcolm mutters.

Way to look good for the teachers.

He follows Ariel.

Wolverine eyes the two teenagers.

"What are you two half-pints doing here?" Wolverine asks gruffly.

Ariel looks at Malcolm, noticing how nervous he looks she slightly giggles.

When Wolverine asked his question, Ariel replied, "So what's up with the sentinal? Did they send it here to test it or destroy us or scare us or something? Or do you think it has something to do with Magneto?"

Wolverine almost started to laugh at the idea of Magneto being responsible for it, then Beast tapped him on the shoulder. "She may be right, Wolverine. Maybe we should ask Lorna." Beast suggests.

"Lorna?" Ariel asks.

"Lorna Dane, Magneto's daughter. She also has the power of magnitism. She could tell us if there has been anything disturbing the magnetic feild." Beast said as he led Ariel and Malcolm inside the school.

"Magneto's daughter is an X-Man?" Ariel whispered to Malcolm.

Malcolm notices Ariel giggle and turns a little red. At least Mr. McCoy was here. He was cool. It took a moment for his brain to process that Ariel whispered to him.

"Oh, um." He whispers back. "Yeah. She's the lady with the green hair. I think she dates Cyclop's brother."

Malcolm thinks a moment.

"I think I heard Mr McCoy say that two of the Avengers are Magneto's kids."

"I know who Lorna is, I just didn't know that she's Magneto's daughter. And two of Magneto's kids are Avengers? How many kids does that guy have?" Ariel said and halfway laughed.

Beast, Ariel, and Malcolm waled into Lorna's room. "What is it, Hank?" she asked.

"Have you noticed any disturbances in the magnetic feild recently?" Beast asked.

"Why?" she asked.

"We want to know if Magneto has anything to do with the sentinal outside." he replied.

Malcolm stood behind Beast and thinks a moment. Why would Magneto use a useless sentinel like that?

"Good question." Wolverine says to Malcolm as he walks in.

"How..?" Malcolm starts to say.

Wolverine chuckles.

"Kid, you got your question written all over your face."

Malcolm's face turns a little red.

"Well, what do you think?" Malcolm asks Wolverine.

"Don't know yet." Wolverine says as he walks up to Beast.

"Colossus and Rogue are moving the Sentinel to the garage." Wolverine says. "Waiting on you to poke around in it."

Beast nods, then turns his attention to Lorna again.

"I apologize for the interruption, Lorna." Beast says politely. "Please, continue."

"Well... There was something, not to long ago. But it seemed pretty far away, like across town." Lorna said.

Ariel thought waht might've been across town that Lorna would've sensed. There were quite a few mutant haters on the other side of town...

"Hm... Do you think it might've been at some anti-mutant group's headquarters or somethin'? Possibly somewhere where they make sentinals?" Ariel asked Malcolm

Malcolm frowns a moment as he thinks.

"Possible." He says. "They certainly seem to pop up every where."

Malcolm shakes his head.

"Most of the anti-mutant groups around don't have the funds to make sentinels. I thought they were primarily a government thing."

"Oh yeah...Then I wonder... Hey, Wolverine? Do you think it'd be okay if we went to go investigate?" Ariel asked.

"Now let's see... Two young mutants in town, where there are mutant haters, and possibly sentinals or Magneto. That honestly sounds like a bad idea, so if you go, I have to come with you." Wolverine said.

"Fine by me." Ariel said, then looked over at Malcolm to see if he wanted to go.

To thoughts fight for control for Malcolm's vocal cords. One is the word no, backed by his fear of the situation. The other is the word yes, backed by his curiosity and not wanting to abandon his new friend.

The battle was brief.

"I'm in." Malcolm says firmly. "Wouldn't miss this for the world."

Wolverine grinned at looked at Malcolm. "Then let's go." he said.

 

Once they had left the campus, they searched around town for anything suspicious.

They came across a few spray painted signs that said things like 'Mutants suck!' on them, Wolverine cut a few of them in half.

"So where now?" Ariel asked.

Wolverine sniffed the air and said, "I'm gonna check over there. You two stay here." and he left.

After Wolverine had walked away, Ariel said, "Let's follow him."

Malcolm chuckles.

"See, I haven't known you that long" he starts,"and I already knew you were going to say that."

Malcolm rubs the back of his head.

"This is such a bad idea."

He exhales and a grin spreads across his face.

"Alright, let's do this."

Malcolm follows after Wolverine, with a feeling that he could take on anything and anybody. This was fun.

They followed Wolverine to a large, old building. Wolverine slashed his way through a few doors. He didn't seem to notice that they were behind him, but he knew it.

They passed through many different rooms, but still found nothing. "You two wanna stop followin' me now?" Wolverine asked.

"How did you-?" Ariel asked.

"How could I not?" he said.

"Well, we just wanted to..." Ariel started to say, then she walked into the next room and saw Magneto laying on the floor. "Oh my gosh.. Is that... Magneto?"

Wolverine walked over to him. "He's alive, but not for long if we don't help 'em." Wolverine said, then thought, And the prof probably wouldn't be to happy if we didn't help Magneto.

Malcolm ran over to Magneto. He couldn't see any wounds on Magneto. Malcolm concentrates and reduces gravities hold on Magneto, thus reducing his weight. Malcolm picks Magneto up. Magneto's size makes it a little hard for Malcolm to hold him, but he manages.

"We take him back home with us?" Malcolm asks.

Wolverine is about to answer when he catches a scent.

"Down!" He orders Malcolm while he tackles Ariel.

Malcolm reverses gravity for himself and magneto and fall to the ceiling.

A hail of bullets stitch the area where the mutants had been stand.

"Die, mutie freaks!!" Calls out the gun men.

Malcolm, hidden for the gun men's sight by a door frame peeks to get a bearing.

"I see six guys with machine pistols." Malcolm reports, ducking his head back behind cover.

Ariel heard the word "freak" and got very angry. She stood up, put a force feild around herself, and walked towards them.

She focused her energy on creating creating an even bigger force feild and putting it around the men. Her force feild in font of her went down for a second and then went around the men. "Now I would suggest not shooting anymore. Unless you want the bullets to bounce back and hit you." Ariel said. "You little freak!" one of them yelled and began to hit the force field with his gun. They all followed suit and began hitting as well. It was giving Ariel a massive headache, but she had to keep it up. "Go, now!" she yelled to Malcolm and Wolverine.

"Kid." Wolverine called to Malcolm. "Can you cover Ariel and keep Mag?"

"Yes." Malcolm acknowledged, not needing to think about it.

"Good." Wolverine said. "I'll make sure we have an exit."

Wolverine ran back the way the three mutants had come, his claws extended. No need to let the kiddies see what he did best just yet. Malcolm reversed his gravity and landed on the ground once again. He concentrated on the guns the thugs were using. He amped up their weight, causing the humans to drop their guns. One thug tried to hold on and received several broken fingers as reward. Malcolm winced when the sound of snapping bones reached him. He then reached out with his power and send the thugs falling to the ceiling.

Sweat started to form on Malcolm's brow. He had never lifted to much before.

"Ariel!" Malcolm called. "Leap Frog down the hall."

"No. You go, and I can hold them there!" Ariel shouted.

She looked at her arm, which had been shot earlier by the men when her force feild went down.

"Take Magneto back to the school! I'll be fine here!" she yelled.

Malcolm hated the idea, but nodded. He released the guards he had hanging on the ceiling, causing them to fall. He crushed each gun.

"If your not behind us in ten minutes, I'm coming back." He said to Ariel, then ran after Wolverine.

"Don't worry I'll be fine." Ariel said.

She created a barrier of telekinetic energy and pushed the men up againt the wall.

They were pressed against the wall and the barrier pressed against them more and more.

"Who's the freak now!" she said and ran after Malcolm and Wolverine.

She caught up to them and held her arm so they wouldn't see where she had gotten shot earlier. "Hey."

Malcolm followed after Wolverine. He found a few dead guards along the way. Malcolm turned the corner and sees Wolverine taking out a guard.

"Where's the girl?" Wolverine asked as he sheathed his claws.

"Holding the others off." Malcolm reported. "She'll be along behind us."

"Good." Wolverine grunted.

Wolverine jabbed a thumb to the door.

"Let's move." Wolverine ordered.

Malcolm followed Wolverine out of the building.

"DIE!!!" A guard yelled as he charged Malcolm.

"No." The young mutant replied.

He lifted his hand and sent the guard screaming up into the air. When the guard reached the top of the building, Malcolm let him go. The guard dropped like a brick and made a wet sound when he landed.

Wolverine whistled.

"Not bad for a rookie." Wolverine complimented.

"Thanks." Malcolm mumbled, still unsure how to deal with that.

Both Wolverine and Malcolm continued to run from the building.

"Hey." Malcolm heard behind him.

He glances back to see Ariel behind him.

"Hey." Malcolm greets back. "Good to see you made it."
