A lot of people seem to be under the impression that the vast majority of KH games are made on Sony consoles, and that tehre is some sort of 'loyalty' between Square and Sony. That it would ONKY make sense to release KH3 on a Sony console.

Consider, if you will, that there have been only three original KH games on Playstation consoles, but four on Nintendo platforms.

Basically, what I'm saying is, Square probably has a lot of fans who only own Nintendo consoles, and a lot who only own Sony consoles.

With such a split between fans who follow the story, it would make a lot of sense for KH3 to be released for both the Wii U and the PS3.

And the 360 will probably be hung out to dry

Or maybe they'll port it to the 360 as well, out of pity.

Well, a vast majority of people own a PS3 than the Wii. Since there are a lot more RPG/JRPG's for it. Nintendo Wii on the othger hand doesn't really carry too many RPG games around unlike the DS. Same goes for the Xbox 360. XBox 360 carries more shooters and other games ment for hardcore gamers than RPG/JRPG type games. So that's why you see the PS3 getting a lot more RPG games. that's why it would make sense for SE to release KH3 on the PS3.

I'm not so sure about the wii U, but it might be a possiblilty? And it's been realesed on nintendo's handhelds, not the consoles. It would be different playing Kingdom Hearts on a wii though.

Square Enix is already developing a game for the Wii U - Dragon Quest X - so I'm sure they're not unfamiliar with the software. The past 2 console KH games were on Sony platforms, so it's very likely that KH3 will be on a Sony console - preferably the PS3. And Square has made games for the PS3 (the Fabula Nova Cristallis Final Fantasy series, for example), so they know that well too. Though, Square has also shown that they've warmed up to Nintendo platforms, putting 358/2 Days and Re:coded on the DS, Chain of Memories on the GBA, and the upcoming major title Dream Drop Distance on the 3DS. Nintendo fans are no strangers to the KH series.

 

Therefore, Square, seeing that there's money to be made from both audiences, would have no problem putting KH3 on both PS3 and Wii U. And there would be no change in quality, since both are very high-tech - if any drop in quality, it would be that the PS3 version is inferior to the Wii U version or something of the sort. Square Enix is no stranger to multi-platform titles; take into account Final Fantasy XIII for example. However, since KH has had no history on the Xbox 360, they wouldn't know how that fanbase would like Kingdom Hearts, so they would probably skip over it.

Only two KH games have ever had a worldwide console release. The most recent one was released seven years ago. And besides the touchscreen, it would not be very different playing the game on teh Wii U.

Then again, it's silly to think that about the Wiimote as well.... If Kingdom Hearts III were to come out on the PlayStation 3, it would have HD graphics. Hopefully anyways, they do seem awfully fond of those PS2 graphics...The Wii cannot output HD graphics. However, the Wii U, which is more powerful than the PS3 and the Wii, CAN.

It's possible that the PS3 version will only run at 720p while the Wii U vesion could run at 1080... Square Enix is no stranger to multi-platform titles; take into account Final Fantasy XIII for example. However, since KH has had no history on the Xbox 360, they wouldn't know how that fanbase would like Kingdom Hearts, so they would probably skip over it. Or take their chances and build a devoted fanbase in all three console groups.

The WiiMote + Nunchuk combo might not work, since it doesn't have as many buttons as a Wii U controller, on the other hand, don't you think having the D pad readily available would be REALLY handy? Since on the Wiimote, it's directly above the A button, which would probably be used to attack. Talk about handy.
