Hello, welcome to my drabble thread! Feel free to request stories of pairings! I'll see what I can whip up.
For now, here's a drabble I just wrote.
Pairing: Aradia/Sollux
It was no question as to why he loved her. She was gorgeous, a beautiful sight. Her hair was long and dark, wavy strands falling down and framing her pretty long face. Sometimes she’d use those horns of hers to make pigtails to keep her hair out of her face whenever she’d be working. She would laugh and smile the sweetest smile you can imagine. Her lips curved up slightly, not a big smile, but her eyes would brighten up and she got little indentations around her cheeks; what humans called ‘dimples’.
Sollux was infatuated with Aradia, and although their relationship was never clear, she shared some similar feelings. And these weren’t feelings of RedRom. It wasn’t typical matespritship pity or moirallegiance. Something beyond that perhaps, but they weren’t sure. They didn’t bring it up or question it, but the two knew it was there. And they were happy.
That was until everything came crashing down. It was he Scorpio who had done it. The huge bitch and her mind tricks. It was her fault but they failed to acknowledge it. Once Aradia was dead, she no longer smiled. She no longer studied archeology. And she no longer enjoyed Sollux’s company. She’d still talk to him of course. She would chat him up on Trollian and speak of how okay she was with anything and everything. Just because she was dead didn’t mean she was sad or upset or any sort of negative emotion. She was okay. She was always okay.
He, on the other hand, was not. He missed her smile. He missed her ringing laugh. He missed her giggles and her fits whenever Sollux made fun of her. He missed how cute she looked in her pigtails and the shine of her pretty hair. He missed holding her hand, and giving her kisses on the cheek that would make her blush a dark maroon red and how she would get back at him by ruffling his hair and kissing him on the forehead like a child, making him blush yellow.
Their relationship had been bliss. For all they knew it was a weird sort of matespritship. Or maybe the human disease called loved. Whatever it was, it was special. And it was bliss thrown into turmoil. Sollux could only wish for everything to be alright. Wish for everything to be okay.
His heart still fluttered when he’d go see her. He’d sometimes see a hint of a smile on her lips, only to blink and have it disappear. He would sit close to her, unable to hold her hand, but just wanting to be close. And he’d talk for hours, despite her only response being something along the lines of “That’s okay.”
Things were okay thinking about it. Even if things weren't the same, it wasn’t like she was completely gone.

Or maybe she might as well be.
