Uncharted 3 Won't Have Single-Player DLC

Posted

Uncharted 3 is set to receive plenty of post-release content, but none of it will be extra missions for the single-player campaign.

In an interview with Eurogamer, game director Justin Richmond confirmed that Naughty Dog would rather spend time developing a new game than new single-player content for Uncharted 3.

"Whenever we sit down and think we should do some single-player DLC, someone pitches something and we realize - that's a five hour level," Richmond said. "We'd rather build out another game than we would do episodic content."

"Dialling back our ambition is difficult," added community strategist Arne Meyer.

Richmond went on to say that there aren't enough people on Naughty Dog's development team to spend time on DLC plus other games.

"We're so small that we can't afford to have a whole team working on DLC," he said. "That's why we don't do it. We'd much rather be working on the next game, producing the game quickly and having people play another adventure."

Uncharted 3 will be released on November 1st.

What do you think about that Uncharted 3 won't have single-player dlc?

Somebody says 'Let's do something cool for the fans, in return for money' and I say 'We could milk that into a whole new game!'

Well there are going to be much to do on the multiplayer so I guess they will be forgiven because of that.
