Syfy Developing Booster Gold TV Series

Posted

Booster Gold, always looking for more fame, could be starring in his own TV series soon. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Syfy have ordered a script for a Booster Gold one-hour drama, based on the DC Comics character.

Andrew Kreisberg is writing the script for Booster Gold, which will be produced by Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Horizon Televison. Berlanti (No Ordinary Family, Eli Stone) previously worked on a DC character as one of the writers of the Green Lantern movie. Kriesberg's writing credits include Fringe, Warehouse 13, The Vampire Diaries, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Red Faction: Origins.

Booster Gold in the comics, and as he appeared on Smallville

(played by Eric Martsolf)

As in the comics, Booster will be a washed-up athlete from Earth's future (specifically from Gotham City in the comics), who travels to our time intending to gain fame and fortune as a superhero. The character appeared earlier this year in the Smallville episode, "Booster," in a well-received appearance where he was played by Eric Martsolf. However, it's unlikely the Syfy Booster Gold project will have any connections to that Smallville incarnation, but rather a whole new take on the character.

First off, that has the potential to be good, but it could easily be awful as well. Secondly, heck yes to the Lorien Legacies reference in your signature, unless of course you were referencing something else that just so happens to fit in with that.
