Help with my disc please.

My metal gear solid disc for the playstation 1 keeps freezing and its driving me crazy. I am deperate because I like the game. Any suggestions you can give to clean the disc I read that with toothpaste or putting it in the fridge would work but that sounds ridiculous so can anyone help me? PLEASE?

    Go the gamestop there something thats helps the Disc to work if it broken.I don't know what It called but it's in a white lill bottle.

    It worked for my PS1, PS2, and Xbox games, so yeah......I'm sure.
