In a world unknown to humankind, the Ra'akel or Raven People lived a life of happiness. when children became fledglings , they would leave the great world to the human realm. One day, the realm of the Hawk'uree or Hawk People discovered a Ra'akian Fledgeling land close to their home, and it was seen as a warning, or a threat, and they traced the scent trail of the fledgling back to the Raven Realm, and they destroyed it. All that remain of the Ra'akel are the fledglings.

Ra'keel smiles and takes the cloth gratefully, not needing to take another shred from her shorts "I showed up in the forest a few weeks before the twigs fell" she says while bandaging her worst scrape and holds up the charm on her necklace "This is one of them. I saved it for a piece of home."

Ra'den walked around, the sound of howling echoing through the dense underbrush. "Well, if it isn't the Raven child." Ra'den turned to see Kenyon, one of the pack leaders. "It been awhile, Ra'den." "Right back at you Kenyon." Kenyon came up to Ra'den to greet him. "What brings you back here Ra'den?" "Something happened between the Raven people and Hawk people, I need to find the rest of my kind." "Well, if you need help all you need to do is call." Kenyon turned to lead his pack to another area.

Ra'keel flinches at the howling of wolves in her forest "Oh, great. Back for a visit, are they?" She looks back at the other girl "Do you mind if I stay here a while? the wolves don't like it when I'm in the forest with them. Territorial buggers..." she huffs

Ra'jah shrugs.

" Sure i don't mind." She said looking into the forest where the howl came from.

" I'm Ra'jah by the way." She said smiling again. Ra'jah looks at the girls necklace. She sighs softly.

" Well she should stay away from the tree line for a while, dont ya think?"

Ra'keel smiles at the name. The bows, opening her wings in respect "My name is Ra'keel." she looks at the tree line and shrugs "I suppose so, yes." she nods. The sun was just beginning to set, and it was almost time for the Hawk's search.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Haw'karra flaps his wings impatiently "What are you all waiting for? we need to find them NOW!" one of the soldiers replies with "You are not our ruler. Not ye---" Haw'karra glides over swiftly, gently squeezing the soldiers neck "You were saying, Haw'tan?" the soldier does not reply, and Haw'karra grips tighter "What were you saying, Haw'tan?"

Haw'tan's voice is wheezy from cut off air "we will search immediately, sir..." Haw'karra set him free "What a fine idea, soldier. You heard the hawk. Off with you all." His power was just beyond his grasp. So close, or so it seemed....

Ra'jah glanced up at the sky.

" Alright lets go then." She said swiftly turned and walking away from the tree line she headed to the bottom of a rather steep hill and walked inside a whole in it. She peaked her head back out.

" Come on we will be safer here from the night then out in the open. She small whole opened up into a rather large room compacted dirt and stones made up the walls.

" I hollowed out this hill incase the hawks ever came." She explained.

Haw'ray watched the troops from a distance sompletely out od sight. He was too smart to let himself get caught. He began to feel energized as the sun began to set leaving pockets of darkness throughout the forest.

" And now, the hunters become the hunted." He breathed silently climbing a tree to await the right moment to begin picking off the army.

Ra'keel blinks, looking through the hollowed hill "Very clever, but a whole lot of digging" She sits by the entrance, glaring her forest. "Ah, speaking of the pretty birds, there they go!"

Haw'karra leads the soldiers into the forest "Burn it down. They could be hiding anywhere. They're best at night, and if we fight face to face, we're dead." The soldiers look puzzled, giving each other looks of bewilderment. "Well, what are you waiting for. Burn it down! Light your torches and burn it all!" He fakes a sad face toward Haw'tan "Poor soldier, your neck looks awful! you should rest on the treeline. be our lookout, would you?" he doesn't allow Haw'tan to answer "Good, I knew you would."

Ra'den walked through the forest, looking at the full moon. Ra'den heard a strange noise in the distance. He crept threw the bushes, until he saw a girl in a tree. 'How long has it been since I was in a tree?' Ra'den didn't really stay in trees, even though he needs to it's only natural. Ra'den walked to the clearing, he hasn't been one to talk directly first, but he sat out there looking at the moon. The grass felt soft against his hands, he could have just slept here, bathed in the distant moonlight. But it was dangerous.

Ra'jah chuckled.

" Yes, lots of digging." Ra'jah peaked out and cursed.

" Already? You got any weapons on you?" She asked moving to the back of the room where there were a couple of sacks tied shut. She opened one of them and pulled out a small knife that was easily concealed in Ra'jah's sleeve.

Haw'ray smirked as the troops left to burn down the forest.

" Idiots." He murmmered hopping down from the tree. He crept to the edge of the tree line and spotted a lone Raven.

" Is he suicidal?" He wondered as Haw'ray watched the strange man.

Ra'keel reaches for her back "Um...one second" she flew out, grabbed her bag from the grass where she fell, and flew back. From the bag, she pulls her bow and quiver "I do now!"

She looks at the forest "Th......They're carrying FIRE!"

Haw'karra's insane eyes flick toward Haw'ray "Ahhh" he calls to two soldiers "Look, friends! My, if it isn't The Rebel. Been a while since we saw him, hasn't it boys....." he smirks, a twisted look in his eye "Come to have me reach my end? So sorry, but I've just begun." her looks at the two soldiers "Kill 'im"

Ra'den saw the hawk people, he scrambled out of the grass and away into the trees. He ran as fast as he could, ducking under the brush conceiling himself.

" Shhh!" Ra'jah covered hr mouth so she wouldn't get both of them killed.

"We can't do aything about it know." She said in a calming voice.

Haw'ray smiled and easily killed the two soldiers.

" Your going to have to do better thasn that." Haw'ray winked and dissapeared into the trees the opposite direction the fire was burning in.

Ra'keel points and whispers "But that's my spot. I won't have a spot if they burn it down."

Haw'karra yells at the soldiers "Spread out! Burn it all down! The Rebel is mine to imprison..."

Ra'den kept running, pushing the trees aside. He saw a fox den and quickly dove in it. Ra'den wasn't afraid if the fox, it was the hawk people that scared him.

Ra'keel 's eyes widen "One of them just killed two of their soldiers, and he's coming near us..." she watches Haw'ray and draws her bow "That's it, I'm going!" She flies to Haw'ray and gets ready to shoot "Lead them away from my forest, hawk. If you even think you can order them to burn my home down, then leave, you're murderous from both sides...."

Haw'karra ignores the dead soldiers and looks over at Haw'ray. In front of him, stands a Ra'akel...."Finally...." his head jerks to the side at the sound of a flop in the fox den "Search that. I've got another target..." he chuckles, coldly.

Ra'den trys to calm himself down, he brings his sword in hand ready to fight. Ra'den's ears buzzed, he could hear something.

Ra'jah cursed under her breath and flew after Ra'keel. 'What am i doing!' She asked herself concealing her knife in her sleeve.

Haw'ray looked back and sees Haw'karra with a Raven.

" Great..." He muttered Flying up out of the trees and grabbing Ra'keel by her collar.

" Stay quiet dont move." He ordered as he put the raven down in the meadow.

Ra'den peeked out of the hole to see a hawk have a raven by the collar in the meadow. He was deciding if he should help. "I have to help it is my own kind." Ra'den charged bringing hs blade to the Hawk.

  • Author

Ra'keel blinks, staring at the hand that gripped her collar, but obeyed. This was a hawk. Hawks killed not only a nation, but a whole realm. He didn't sound like he was trying to kill her, but she didn't know. When she was set down, she stayed as still as death, but watches the flickering flames slowly burning her forest.

Haw'karra watches as the soldier that searched the den is brought to his end with a quick jab of the raven's sword "Ah. There you are, then. Seems I've got myself two of you awful black birds." His eyes filled with insanity "How nice of you to join the fun....I'll deal with your friend over there later.

Ra'jah landed hard on Haw'karra holding her knife to his neck.

" Tell your soldiers to put out the fire, now!" She said pressing the knife to his neck. There was no way he was going to get away with this nonsense.

Haw'ray glanced at the Raven.

" Its reckless to go after a hawk like that." He said Brushing dirt from his shoulders. He had no need to be wary, anything to come against him was suicidal. There was a reason he had survived being a rebel this long.

Ra'den stabbed the hawk and made a run for it. "You awful, cruel birds you dont deserve to fly in the sky!"

  • Author

Ra'keel blinks and looks from the hawk to the other raven "Umm....I don't know if that's a 'thanks' or a 'why'd you kill him' because he just kind of put me here and didn't do anything....so....thanks, I think?"

Haw'karra smirks at the knife "I'll call them off if you bring me your friends over there....I may even throw in some gold that I looted from you realm...how's that sound, dearest?"

Ra'jah snarled pressing the knife harder.

' You are in no position to bargain Hawk." She hissed through hr teeth.

Haw'ray's eyes widened in suprised, he looked down at the new wound in his stomach and fell onto his knees holding it. His other hand immediatly went to his mouth, he coughed and pulled away his hand seeing blood.

" Well, that didn't go as planned." He said calmly looking at his hand.

Ra'den watched the hawks try to bargain with them, but he was distracted by the distant growls of beasts.

  • Author

Ra'keel blinks "You had a plan? Whatever it was, you're right, it failed...." she mumbles "and looks rather painful..."

She stares at the wound..."Oh, I'm gonna hate myself for this!" she unties all of her bandages, knots them all into one, and tends to the wound "You'd better use these well, hawk, these used to be my good pants..."

------------------------------

Haw'karra laughs weakly "You're quite the fighter, Raven. But they're not my men...I simply persuaded them to--" soldiers begin to fall, on by one, all that was left of them was the first, Haw'tan, "My, Haw'karra...you neck looks terrible...perhaps you should rest..." he takesRa'jah's dagger out of the way and replaces it with his sword "Care to do the honors, Raven?" Haw'karra trembles "Haw'tan...please...I'l give you my place...I'll give you my powe----" he takes his dagger and kills the soldier then and there. Even with a raven on his back "Now, If you'd get off me, please...."
