If you look closely you can actually see that it is actually tiles and tiles of different colours, very much like pixel art. Throughout DPRK you can see many pixel art signs and posters.

(The following notes was type by my friend when he was there.)

 

 

- After the lovely picnic, they brought me to visit the oldest temple in Pyongyang. While they ban religion over there, they do recognise their history of being a Buddhist country before. The monks were protecting the people from war (really really old war, can't remember which one), and the head monk sacrificed himself and killed many many soldiers to protect the people.

 

The temple is preserved, most of the temple was made 300-500 years before.
