Destiny High: Fates Intertwined
Chapter 1
It was the first day of school for the students and faculty of Destiny High. On a surprisingly warm September evening, one brown-haired young man and one blonde haired slightly younger man walked outside of their residence as twins. The two would start their freshmen year with their closest friends. The brunette, Sora, was excited to meet up with his friends Riku and Kairi. Roxas was eager to join his friends Axel and Xion. The two groups of friends were going to get together and go through high school as one group. Nothing would stop their plan.
Sora grinned, his thoughts revolving around his redheaded crush, Kairi. He and Kairi had been best friends since they were kids. Riku and Sora for even longer. The two often fought over Kairi, but Riku “stepped down,” as he had eyes for Kairi’s triplet, Xion. The raven-haired girl was oblivious to Riku’s affections, however, much to his dismay. Roxas had no “crush” at the moment, but that would change too quickly his liking. Roxas was almost identical to Sora, the two looking much alike but also different in obvious ways. Roxas looked exactly like their older brother Ventus, who went missing when Sora and Roxas were 4 years old. Ven went missing along with two other people: his best friends Terra and Aqua. The trio was very close, and nothing could separate them. One day, all three of them vanished from school, along with Headmaster Xehanort. A man who claims to be Xehanort’s son, Ansem Seekahuv Dahkniss is ruling Destiny High at the moment along with his brother Xemnas the Assistant Headmaster. No one remembers Terra, Ven, or Aqua, except for higher ups like King Mickey and Master Yen Sid. Mickey is the King of Disney Castle, a land far from the Destiny Islands. Mickey has stayed in the Destiny Islands for a long time for unknown reasons. Master Yen Sid lives near Twilight Town, a fair distance from Destiny Islands and Traverse Town.
The two stepped through the automatic sliding doors and into the crowded school of Destiny High. Upon entry the two were given ID cards with barcodes they would scan for lunch. The bar codes would also be used for entry to the school if late or after hours. Destiny High was huge, and along with the ID cards, the twins received papers on where to go for Homeroom.
“Room 245, huh….Sanae Hanekoma…” Sora said, observing his paper.
“Same here…think we’ll see anyone we know?” Roxas asked his brother, who began to head up the stairs while reading the paper. He clung to the sides of the railing to avoid bumping into people.
“I hope so. We’ll see.” Sora replied, reaching the top of the steps and traversing down the hallway searching the doors for the number two-hundred forty-five. When he finally reached it by a set of stairs, Sora made a right and walked in, followed closely by Roxas. The twins were surprised to see a café-like classroom with a man in sunglasses with black hair at the head of the class. Above his head, the quote “The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they’ll go” was written in bold lettering. The man casually waved.
“Ah, new kids! The Hikari twins, am I right? I’m Sanae Hanekoma. Feel free to call me Mr. H. Nice to meet you two.”
Sora and Roxas waved as well. “ You too, Mr. H!” The two replied in unison. The two turned around and saw comfortable-looking seats, a few of them occupied. Everyone was sitting in one group. Sora was the first to go greet the new people.
“Hey, everyone! I’m Sora and this is my brother Roxas! What are your names?” The older Hikari asked, grinning his grin that could make anyone’s day happier. The people he greeted were a group of four: One pink-haired girl, one blond haired male with a hat on, a blonde girl with a matching hat, and an orange-haired boy with purple headphones on. The pink-haired girl was first to speak.
“Hi I’m Shiki Misaki! Nice to meet you, Sora!” Shiki said, winking suggestively at both Sora and Roxas, causing both of them to blush and Shiki to giggle.
The blond stood up with a large skull on his hat. The girl with the identical hat had a smaller skull on her hat. “Yo I’m Beat and dis is my sis Rhyme. Don’t you THINK bout touchin’ her, yo, or I’ll beat yo’ ass!” Beat threatened, though everyone knew Beat was just being protective of his little sister.
Rhyme smiled and waved at Sora and Roxas, who waved back.
“I’m Neku. Sakuraba Neku.” The orange-haired boy responded with little emotion in his voice, though he was capable of having emotions.
“Neku Sakuraba….that’s a cool name!” Sora said, grinning his signature grin.
“It’s really not…” Neku remarked, thrown off by Sora’s random comment.
As time passed by more and more people showed up. Roxas was reprimanded by Sora for staring at a blonde named Rikku. She must have overheard the two, as she turned and blew a kiss back to Roxas. Two more girls named Selphie and Rinoa showed up, along with two males called Squall and Seifer. Everyone seemed friendly and Sora was sure he would make a lot of friends already. Roxas’ mind was mainly on seeing Axel and Xion. Sure enough, Xion walked in. Xion was a black-haired girl who looked identical to Kairi. She was her triplet, after all. Xion was very friendly and very close with Roxas. The two had been recommended to date each other because of their bond. It became nothing more than a joke between the two. The “funny” part is that Roxas and Xion showed all the signs of a couple. It just wasn’t official. Axel was also part of the trio and was very close with them both. Upon seeing her, Roxas ran up to his best friend and hugged her.
“Xion! You’re here! I’m glad were in the same homeroom together! Have you seen Axel yet?” Roxas asked, still embracing his best friend, whom Sora could see was blushing.
“No, I haven’t! I think he’s in the other homeroom with everyone else. C’mon, let’s go get our schedules!” Xion said, grabbing Roxas’ hand and running up to Mr. Hanekoma to get their schedules. Sora followed them to get his schedule as well.
“There’s no way Roxas is straight! Look at that babe he’s with? And he’s not getting ANY of that?” Seifer whispered to Neku, who shook his head.
“Idiot.”
“What did you say, punk?” Seifer threatened, standing up with his fist clenched.
“I called you an idiot. Just because Roxas isn’t doing anything perverted with that girl doesn’t mean he’s gay. Now sit down, or you’ll cause a scene.”
Somehow, Neku made Seifer sit down without a fight. Sora took his schedule and glanced at it. Mr. Hanekoma said that the three could go to their first classes if they want. The bell would ring soon and it would be nice to avoid the crowd. The three bid Mr. H adieu and headed off to their next classes.
Schedules (These three have signed up for all honors classes. The only classes that aren’t honors are Gym, Health, and Music.)
