Why is the remake even an option.

The original Karate Kid is an all time classic.

The new one is just Hollywood mediocrity.

And even though I LOVE Jackie Chan... even he can't make this mediocre film great. It was alright tho'.

Clear winner: The original Karate Kid.

Nothing can beat originality... I dont even know how that is a question.....

I would say old one,i think there was not even Karate in the new one.

Though I haven't seen the original one all the way through, I'd have to say it's the better one since the kid actually does KARATE in the movie. The fact that the remake is all about Kung Fu and yet the title is still "The Karate Kid" makes me cringe.

To replace Karate with Kung Fu and essentially call it the same thing sounds very hickish and makes me feel poorly about being an American. http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/sleep.png

Original by a long shot. The new one was too 'boohoo' for me, couldn't even watch it all the way through... and the kid wasn't even learning karate for fckz sakes! D8<

Shame on you for mentioning the remake.
