Insomniac Is Finished With Resistance

Today, sad news broke for fans of the PlayStation-exclusive franchise Resistance. The minds behind the series won't be making a fourth game.

Insomniac's CEO Ted Price revealed to VG247 that the studio was finished with their tale of the Chimeran takeover of Earth. "We won't be making any more Resistances," Price told VG247. It's important to note that Sony owns the Resistance name, however, not Insomniac, leaving the franchise open for other studios to explore in the future.

It's also worth keeping in mind that two Resistance games were created outside of Insomniac's Southern California studio. Resistance: Retribution came to PSP in 2009 by way of Sony Bend, the developer behind the Syphon Filter franchise. And an upcoming PlayStation Vita title, Resistance: Burning Skies, is currently being worked on at Nihilistic Studio.

It's sad and good to see insomniac move on from this series.I enjoyed the series and their a underrated developer in my opinion.

I haven't finished Resistance 3 yet, so I've got plenty of time.
