Pandora333 48 Posted February 29, 2012 It wasn't allowed. Discuss http://ds.ign.com/articles/121/1219652p1.html My opinion: Nintendo will receive a lot of backlash, at the same time, I think this game is a little overrated, just as the creator Edmund McMillen has tended to feel superior since Meat Boy released. I'm not saying he has no talent, but his reactions tend to bother me and I perceived them to be immature. Nevertheless, this game doesn't have a ESRB rating nor has been approved by neither Sony or Microsoft even though the creator claims the game will be released in their respective online shops. Silvia Kuroi 1,480 Posted March 1, 2012 I want to agree with Nintendo on this one. Nintendo's consoles are marketed as family items, so most games tend to be for children or families. Binding of Isaac, though, is a twisted, unorthodox version of reality. It features child abuse, and various references to religion that many may find offensive. Based on that, I feel Nintendo has some justice in their refusal.

Spectrum of Life 188 Posted March 1, 2012 It's rated M for a reason. If the folks don't want their kids buying it, they shouldn't be so lax as to let them. Nintendo needs to take a risk every once in awhile. There's a reason 3rd parties are so reluctant to release things on their consoles. Godot 513 Posted March 1, 2012 Since when are all games released on Nintendo consoles supposed to be family friendly? on-topic: I'm religious and I really want this game. I wish it had been ported to the 3DS so I would have a reason to buy one.

Man that sounded Schizophrenic Nintendo is a business company, and, as a matter of fact, since last year, they are not in position to take risks. Actually, if you look at it, the route Nintendo has been following can be described as "safe" and they are still trying to reach a higher userbase. Also, remember what happened when MadWorld released? Half of the world, well, figuratively speaking, attacked Nintendo for letting such game be released on the Wii. By the way, the game, as I stated, doesn't have a ESRB rate. This can also be a factor why Nintendo didn't let the game enter on the eShop. And even though if they had approved the game, it has to be submitted to the ESRB anyways.
